Chapter 42. Mysterious Man

The tomb that Clarabelle pointed to clearly bore a name that didn't end in Hayden. Clarabelle remembered Crystal telling her about the woman. Carol was James' late wife. Jordan shifted his body and snuggled closer to Clarabelle.

"That's the grave of James' wife. After we're done, he won't come back. He will be here all day," Jordan said.

Clarabelle looked up slightly at Jordan. His eyes half glanced. Clarabelle looked again at Carol's grave, she saw the year she died. Almost four years have passed. And James was still alone. Clarabelle concluded that James loved his wife so much that he hadn't been looking for another soulmate.

Sure enough. Not long after, Crystal with Jaren, and Ann-Mary made their move, leaving the cemetery. But James stayed where he was. When Jaren was right next to James, he stopped, patting his eldest son on the shoulder. James didn't react, just stared straight at him.

“Darling, Lala…” Crystal turned to Clarabelle. "Come with me. Please, stay with me today.”
