Aviana peeked through the partially opened door. "Can I get you a drink? Maybe water or coffee?"Scarlet smiled as she spoke, "No, I'm good.""Okay, I'll leave now, the meeting is about to start anyway," Aviana sighed. Then, she closed the door and walked away afterwards. However, she halted in her steps the next moment. She contemplated for a while before she finally turned around and walked back. She held the doorknob and clicked the door open. Peeking through the partially opened door for the second time, Aviana asked, "Are you sure you still want to sit here all alone and wait for me? Why don't you go home and come back some other time when I'm not all tied up with work? The meeting might take longer, you know?" Scarlet stood up from the chair and walked towards her. "We are friends, right?" she asked her as soon as she reached the door where Aviana stood. Aviana simply nodded her head in response to her question. "I wanted to have a quiet time with you and if possible have a fr
Scarlet walked back afterwards and took her sit at the table. Taking a sip of her hot coffee, she checked on the time on her phone once again and sighed deeply. She had been keeping watch of time, one hour and thirty minutes had already passed by since they left for the meeting. The meeting was taking much longer time than she had anticipated. She took another sip. And another. Soon, she were done with the coffee and the cup was empty. Lucky for her, the lady brought a flask, so she poured the coffee into the empty cup. She took another sip. She went on with the rhythm of pouring coffee into the cup, sipping it, until she were running out of coffee. When she were remaining with only a cup of coffee, she began to sip it slowly while she played with her phone. That way, she would keep herself busy and she would not get bored. After a while, she got bored playing with her phone. So, she took some papers that were placed on the table and began to make paper airplane with them. She made
Meanwhile, inside the meeting room, a heavy discussion was going on between Ethan and the board members. Ethan casually sat on his chair while he flipped the pen in his hand and listened carefully to whatever that was being said by the board members. Aviana, on the other hand, took minutes of the meeting, as it was her responsibility while still paying attention to their discussion. After a while, Ethan sat up straight on his chair, changing from his earlier posture, maybe because he had grown tired after sitting in the same position for an hour and more. He leaned forward and placed his arms on the table. He said indifferently, "Building a hotel? I do not think that's a good idea. You can do better than that, of course. Have you considered the many hotels we have in the city, have you thought about the competition that we are likely to face? What about the benefits the company would get from this project, if there would be any, the risks and all? It's a NO, for me. I need you to co
Ethan didn't say anything for a while, his eyes never leaving hers. Total silence reigned in the room, as everyone eagerly waited for his response. Aviana sighed deeply, she was wise enough to know his silence was his response. And, it was not just Aviana, the members harbored the same thought. When his silence was too much and everyone took his silence for his rejection, Ethan smiled slightly before he began to suddenly clap his hands, surprising everyone. "Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!" he said the same word three times. "That is….that is a pretty good idea, Miss Cole! Tell me, have you done this before! Have you told this idea to other companies!" he asked while he leaned forward and held his hands together, looking at her meaningfuly. Aviana simply shook her head. "Good. It should remain that way, then," he added. Then, he turned to the members, "What do you think about her idea. Isn't it the best." "Y-yes," the old member, Mr Gradgrind, stuttered. Shock! Surprise! were wr
Meanwhile, Scarlet was still talking on her phone when Aviana walked into the office. "Lily, can I call you back? I need to attend to something important, first," she requested. "Okay, bye," she nodded and kept the call afterwards. Then, she walked to Aviana who had just walked in and was standing at the door. "Do all meetings take this long? It's been two hours already," she complained as she stood next to her. "No, just this one. But I told you earlier, didn't I?" Aviana replied and walked to her desk. Scarlet followed her. And they both took a seat, with Aviana seated at her usual spot while Scarlet sat on the other side of the desk. Placing the document that she was holding on the desk, Aviana said dryly,"I'm here now. So, tell me. What did you wanna talk about." She leaned back in her chair and looked up at her. "Well, nothing in particular. It's been long since we last spoke at your brother's birthday party. I do not have anything doing at home so I thought maybe I shou
Scarlet burst out laughing when she heard her question. Aviana frowned, "Is it really that funny." "Avi, this is really funny. How I wish your words could be true," she continued to laugh. "Do you know, I haven't been in touch with him for a long time. The last time I spoke with him was at your baby brother's birthday party. So, there is no way we could be dating," she added. "But, you have his number, right?" Aviana asked. "Yes…..I do have his number. Why?" she asked, confused. "Have you tried calling him on his phone?" Aviana asked, yet again. ".......No?" "Then, what are you waiting for. Call him, girl! You like him, right? I would advice you go for him unless you want other women to get to him before you," Aviana advised her. "You know I do not want other women to even get close to him. I like him a lot. But, I have absolutely no idea on what I'm supposed to do. Please Avi, advice me on what to do," she pleaded as she held Aviana's hands in hers. Aviana sighed. Sh
"Aaw really? Thank you so much, Avi," she smiled as she spoke and moved to hug her. "Oh, I'm so lucky to have you as my sister-in-" Oops! Scarlet had her eyes widening and her hand covering her lips as soon as she realized what she was about to say. She was about to spill the beans. 'I really have a problem. A huge problem,' she thought as she slowly loosened her hold on Aviana. She could only hope, Aviana hadn't heard her last word. Or if she did, Scarlet hoped she hadn't read much into it. Aviana was looking at her, her brows furrowed, forming a deep frown. "What did you say!" Aviana asked. "What are you talking about? I do not understand?" Scarlet replied and tried to act like she was confused too. "I thought I heard you say something like sister-in-law?" she stuttered. "What! No!" Scarlet denied quickly. "Why would I refer to you as my sister-in-law? I mean, you are neither dating my brother, Ethan, nor are you planning to marry him?" she added. While she mentioned he
Ethan strode into his office. He was fuming with rage. Aviana ran after him and rushed inside and closed the door afterwards. After she had closed the door, she turned to face him. However, Ethan abruptly turned around and pushed her on the door. He pinned her against it. He pulled her arms above her head while he kissed around her collarbone, neck, earlobes and lips violently. He spoke while he continued to ravage her lips, "First, you said I'm too old for you. Second, you chose my sister over me. Avi, I really want to punish you." "What! I only said those words because I did not want Scarlet to suspect anything! And, I did not chose your sister over you! This was all your fault, you gave me no other choice!" she tried to explain to him. "Now, you are blaming me. How is it even my fault. What did I do wrong, eh?" he asked her. He did not stop kissing her even when he spoke. Aviana closed her eyes and frowned her eyebrows slightly, "Ethan, you knew Scarlet was in my office, why
Ethan walked into "The Intoxicated" Entertainment clubhouse, the familiar buzz of energy and laughter wash over him. He spotted Alex and James who were already seated at their usual position. “Hey, look who finally decided to show up!” Alex called out, a playful grin spreading across his face. His eyes twinkled with mischief as he leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. James, ever the composed one, merely raised an eyebrow but offered a smirk.Ethan shrugged nonchalantly, but inside, he could still feel the residual warmth of the passionate encounter he’d just had with Aviana. The slightly disheveled state of his hair and the faint trace of lipstick lingering on his collar were the only signs that might give him away, but he hoped they would go unnoticed. “Traffic,” Ethan replied coolly, sliding into his seat with an air of indifference. He could see the knowing glimmer in Alex’s eyes, the way he leaned in just a bit closer, eager for any hint of a story.“Right,” Alex said, chuckl
Aviana walked into the house, her blouse still partially buttoned, a telltale sign of the passionate encounter she’d just had with Ethan in the car. As she fumbled with the remaining buttons, trying to regain some semblance of normalcy, a small, curious voice called out from the living room.“Big sis!” Hayden appeared around the corner, his bright eyes wide with curiosity. He was clutching a toy car tightly in one hand and staring up at his sister with a mix of innocence and suspicion.Aviana, momentarily flustered, straightened up and tried to smooth her disheveled appearance. “Hey, Hayden,” she said, forcing a casual tone. “What’s up?”Hayden’s gaze remained fixed on her, his little brows knitting together as he took in the scene. “You’re home pretty late, Big sis. And why are you buttoning your blouse like that? Did you and Uncle Ethan have a... uh, fun time in the car?”Aviana’s cheeks turned a deeper shade of red. She froze mid-button, her mouth slightly open as she tried to proc
Aviana lay in Ethan's arms, their bodies intertwined in a comfortable silence that spoke volumes of their deep connection. The room was quiet, save for the soft rhythm of their breathing and the occasional contented sigh that escaped their lips.Ethan gently brushed a strand of hair away from Aviana's face, his touch tender and filled with affection. He couldn't help but marvel at how natural and right it felt to have her in his arms, to feel her warmth against him.Aviana shifted slightly, her head resting against his chest as she looked up at him with a soft smile. "You know," she murmured, her voice tinged with a hint of playfulness, "you have a way of making everything feel so... perfect."Ethan chuckled softly, his heart swelling with love for this woman who brought so much joy into his life. "I'm just glad you feel that way," he replied, his voice gentle. "You mean the world to me, Aviana."Aviana's smile widened, her fingers tracing lazy patterns on his chest as she gazed up at
Ethan looked up, his face flushed and his posture stiff as he tried to hold Aviana close. His usual aloof demeanor was completely absent, replaced by a flustered and panicked expression. “Faith! I—I didn’t expect—” he stammered, his words tumbling out in a jumbled mess.Faith couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight. Ethan, the ever-composed boss, was now visibly flustered, with his shirt slightly askew and a look of sheer bewilderment on his face. Aviana’s cries were still unabated, adding to the hilarity of the situation.“Uh, Sir,” Faith said, trying to suppress her laughter as she walked over to them. “It looks like you’re having a bit of a rough time here.”Ethan, still holding Aviana, glanced at Faith with a mix of frustration and embarrassment. “Faith, I... I don’t know what to do. She’s... she’s crying because I figured out something too quickly, and then I made it worse by saying I got help from Scarlet. I don’t know how to fix this!"Faith’s eyes twinkled with a mix of amuseme
Ethan stood outside Aviana's office door, his mind racing with thoughts of how to approach her. He took a deep breath to steady his nerves, then knocked gently."Come in," Aviana's voice called from inside. Ethan entered cautiously, finding Aviana seated at her desk, engrossed in reviewing some documents. She looked up as he entered, her expression neutral but her eyes betraying a hint of wariness."Avi, can we talk?" Ethan asked softly, stepping further into the room.Aviana leaned back in her chair, her expression cool and composed despite the underlying irritation. Ethan stood before her, unsure of how to break through her icy demeanor."What's there to talk about, Ethan?" Aviana began, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she tapped her pen on the desk. "I don't expect you to have figured out the reason I'm mad at you already. It might take you a day, a week, or a lifetime to figure it out. Who knows?"Ethan blinked, taken aback by her blunt honesty. "Avi, I—""Nope," Aviana cut in,
Scarlet grinned at Aviana's comment about Milo, nodding in agreement. "He definitely does. But speaking of being kept on your toes, how's my brother treating you these days, Avi?" Scarlet asked playfully, raising an eyebrow teasingly.Aviana's smile faltered immediately at the mention of Ethan, her mood shifting drastically. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself before responding. "Ethan?" she replied tersely, her voice edged with irritation. "He's... he's fine."Scarlet sensed the change in Aviana's tone, her playful expression fading as she picked up on the underlying tension. "Uh-oh, trouble in paradise?" she asked cautiously, eyebrows raised in mock concern. Aviana scoffed, her frustration bubbling to the surface. "Paradise? More like a roller coaster," she muttered, her hands gesturing animatedly. Scarlet sighed dramatically, leaning back in her chair as she looked at Aviana with exaggerated concern. "Okay, spill the tea, Avi. What happened between you and Ethan this
Twenty minutes later, Scarlet arrived at the office, her steps purposeful as she made her way to Ethan's office. She knocked lightly on the door before entering, her expression a mix of curiosity and concern."Brother," Scarlet greeted warmly, her voice tinged with a hint of apprehension. "You sounded pretty serious on the phone. What's going on?"Ethan rose from his chair to greet her, grateful for her presence. "Hey, Scarlet," he began, gesturing for her to take a seat opposite him. "Thanks for coming."Taking a deep breath, Ethan recounted the events of the morning's meeting with Aviana. He described Aviana's distant demeanor, his attempts to understand her mood, and the abrupt end to the meeting after confronting her.Scarlet listened attentively, her brow furrowing with concern as Ethan finished his explanation. "So, you think Avi's mad at you, but she won't tell you why?" she summarized, her voice soft with empathy."Yeah," Ethan replied, running a hand through his hair in frust
The boardroom was set for the meeting with the marketing team, and Aviana, with her usual efficiency, had everything organized meticulously. As they settled in, Aviana took her seat beside Ethan, her posture erect and her expression composed. However, her eyes betrayed a hint of icy reserve that Ethan couldn't ignore."Good morning, everyone," Ethan greeted cheerfully, attempting to lighten the atmosphere. Aviana responded with a polite nod but remained focused on the agenda in front of her.The marketing team leader began presenting the new campaign strategy, and Aviana listened intently, jotting down notes and occasionally exchanging professional remarks with the team. Each time Ethan tried to engage her with a comment or question, Aviana responded curtly and kept her interaction strictly business.Ethan, increasingly uncomfortable with Aviana's cold demeanor, shifted in his seat, trying to catch her eye. "What do you think about the demographics for the new ad placements?" Aviana
Aviana stood in Ethan's office, a stack of documents in hand, ready to brief him on the day's schedule. Despite their personal relationship, she maintained her professional demeanor, a testament to her dedication as his personal assistant."Good morning, Ethan," Aviana greeted, her voice carrying a blend of warmth and professionalism. "Here's the rundown for today. We have a meeting with the marketing team at 10 AM to discuss the new campaign strategy. Then, you have a lunch meeting with Mr. Johnson from Capital Investments at 12 PM."Ethan, leaning back in his chair, flashed a playful grin. "Sounds riveting, as always, Avi. Did you make sure they're serving my favorite dessert at lunch?"Aviana rolled her eyes playfully, a hint of a smile tugging at her lips. "I believe they're more interested in discussing investments than your sweet tooth, Ethan."He chuckled lightly, enjoying the banter. "You never know, Avi. Dessert is a serious business."Aviana continued with her briefing, detai
