When Jessie envisioned her wedding day, she visualised herself surrounded by her wonderful family, all blushing and teary eye that she's getting married. Of course, her family was far from pleasant. In fact, they hated each other. And if under any other circumstances, where she was to get wed, she would have invited none of them. They were too embarrassing to have around, especially her father.
Nevertheless, this was not how she imagined her wedding day. She was not happy. Was confused, and felt fat.
As Jessie stood there admiring her too-thin figure. She frowned at her reflection, that wore makeup for the first time in her life to cover up her overly pale skin. Jessie's hair, which was usually untamed, was now combed neatly today in a curly updo style, something that she didn't do often. She knotted sliver clips in the loose curls, making her wonder how in the hell will she get them out.
The skin on her arm seemed paler than before. As she felt sick to her stomach, which made her face green under the orange looking make-up that caked her face.
"This is definitely not my skin colour. But who cares? No one is here to help me either way. I know zero about make-up and I doubt I look as good as I think I do." Jessie talked to herself.
She wiped the red lipstick off her bow-shaped lip and applied the one that says poly pink.
"What does that even mean?"
She then smacked her lips together, actually liking the oddly named colour.
She slipped the lipstick in her bra, not knowing if she would see such a pleasant colour again.
Jessie sighed, wishing that she could make a run for it. Maybe crash through the window and dash to an awaiting car, but those things only happen in movies and her life was anything but.
"This is real life. It is my wedding day today. A day in which I am to be happy and smiling, but I am far from such. This is a life sentence, to marry so young and fast." She said to her reflection.
Thinking that people her age only got married to get a green card or because of a baby, things like this didn't happen in modern days.
But she thought about it. Things like that did. She watched it a few times on TLC whenever she got the chance.
Jessie frowned at the beautiful girl staring back at her. Not feeling beautiful at all.
She leaned on the vanity for support as she felt another breakdown coming on.
"I should be happy about this, but how can I be?" she sobbed.
Jessie took up a wet wipe, ready to remove the make-up from her face.
Then she paused.
"This just isn't me." Jessie threw down the make-up wipe.
Her natural thick pink lips were being hidden by a too bright pink matte lipstick, her long face was contoured to give off an oval-shaped illusion, the bottom of her nose was way too straight because of contouring as well and her usually lively hazel eyes were now lifeless.
Yet still, she has to get married, or else something might happen to her. Though she didn't know what, but her guess is that it won't be anything good.
"But why I am forced into an arranged marriage?"
"I'm being forced into marriage." Jessie cried.
Then fell into a fit of hysterical laughter, which soon turned into sobs that rocked her body.
''I'm getting married. By force.'' Her voice cracked. ''I can't do this, I can't marry a man I hardly know.''
"I can't do this, I can't, I can't." Jessie repeated to herself over and over, pacing the room that she should get ready in for what is supposedly the biggest day of her life.
''Why am I even forced to do this''? Jessie asked, still talking to herself.
She held my head in her hands, thinking of all the possibilities that could go wrong.
She didn't know the man or woman she was to get married to.
"Like fu*k, what if they are a part of the mob and I get killed?" Jessie questioned herself. "Or worst, they are a part of a cult and I am their sacrifice." She sobbed again.
Suddenly, Jessie straightened up. "Maybe instead of thinking about it, I should just run. No. There are bodyguards at every parameter. I am sure one is at the door."
Jessie gave a small knock on the door just to test her theory, and she was right. A small cough came, followed by a sharp knock.
Jessie felt conflicted, she didn't know who this person was; she has whenever seen him or her before, or even know of his name, yet here she was dressed in white ready to get married to some Mafia, heavily protected healthy man. Hell, she didn't even know it was a man. Could be a female or a dog.
''Oh, the sense of humour my father has." Jessie laughed to herself. "I bet he sold me to some Italian drug lord, but why me and not Janice? She's the eldest. More accomplished, I haven't even finished Uni as yet. I still want to become a veterinarian and own my own animal shelter and grooming dog spa."
Jessie paused. "how did he even find me? "Bloody hell with it."
She paced the length of the spacious room. She didn't even have friends here, not like she had any. But just the fact that they whisked her away from her life so suddenly, she hardly had time to think.
Like seriously, Jessie was in the bathroom when a bag was placed over her head. All she heard were voices and growling. Now here she was, with her bastard of a father telling her to get ready in thirty minutes and her mother standing beside him and smiling like a bloody baboon.
"Move it!"
Jessie smiled after hearing the unmistakable voice of her sister yelling, Kimberly. The youngest of the Thomas siblings, the only one that has a mouth on her and wasn't afraid to kick a*s.
"Jess!"
"I'm in here!” She shouted back, smiling at the thought of seeing her face.
Kimberly was the only female as sweet as honey, that can go from an angel to devil in a second. Zero to a hundred real quick, she liked to say, speaking like a true American even though she's British. She wasn't normal.
Kimmy gushed the minute she laid her eyes on her sister. "Oh, Sissy. Look at how beautiful you are. Too bad this man is still a mystery, well at least he's rich. You should see the bloody garden, with those lovely decorations and the reception area. Ohhh, Sissy.''
"How did you even know where to find me?'' Jessie asked.
Kimmy gave a sheepish smile. "Well, when you didn't come back to her room. I got to thinking, then went home and heard your father talking."
Jessie scoffed. "Our father.''
"In this moment you are the golden child.'' Kimmy said, then spoke about how beautiful the place was.
Jessie pleaded with her sister, "Kimmy, can you focus for even the slightest minute? I'm getting married for crying out loud.''
"Yeah, that. I'm sure it will be fine. I mean, if dad is ok with it, then why not.'' She said.
Jessie frowned. "Because it's dad, the same man that almost lost our house because of drunk, gambling over in Cobh. Heavens only knows how he got there to begin with. And if you think this is a bloody good idea, why don't you go get married to this mysterious sicko, yeah.'' Jessie ranted, trying to make Kimmy see reasoning.
Countering, Kimmy said. "Ow, be happy, yea. Jessie, at least you'll be getting out of this s**t hole.''
"Alright, yeah. And what sh*t hole will I be getting into?'' Jessie asked.
There was a long intense stare-down between them. As usual, Kimberly didn't back down, so Jessie looked away first.
"You have been sneaking around, haven't you?'' Jessie asked, giving Kimmy a pointed look. "I wouldn't call it sneaking.'' Kimmy returned. Jessie scoffed, "so have you seen him, my soon to be husband?'' "I don't follow," Kimmy replied. Jessie stared into Kimmy's eyes and could tell that she was trying to hide something from her. "Come on, spit it out yeah.'' Kimmy spat her gum into a nearby vase. Jessie frowned at her smug look. ''So, have you seen the bloke or not?'' "All I know is that they keep calling him Alpha, so I'm guessing he's a top dog with money, and if I could marry him, I would, but dad chose you, so suck it up, yea.'' "Alpha? That sounds like a werewolf.'' The word sounded odd, rolling off Jessie's tongue. All in her head now were those stupid fantasy books she used to read while attending school, where they would put a vampire and their enemy to fall in love. Silly,
Jessie stopped on the landing of the second floor, contemplating about running. She even pushed at the window, then pretended to be hot and fan at her face, when someone glanced at her. "How far would I get? If these people were really wolves, they would catch up to me." Jessie closed her eyes, thinking that her dad wouldn't be so stupid to marry her off to their mortal enemies. Then again, in his drunk state, he would. Jessie's pulse quickens. After all she had heard about werewolves, she was so scared to marry one. They are very territorial, temperamental, vicious and lived in packs, where everyone shared the same house. The man following behind Jessie coughed to cover up a laugh. She glanced over her shoulder to see what was funny, then wondered if she had farted. She paused to ask him what he found funny, but thought against it. Jessie walked onward to her doom, not knowing what awaited her on the other side
Christian could smell Jessie, her anxiety, her fear, and her anger. Everything. Which made him wish he could be there in the room to reassure her that there was nothing to fear. He made a vow to himself to take care of her with all his wellbeing and to the best of his abilities. "I will introduce her to a life better than what she was used to." Christian vowed to himself. This was the first time in two centuries since a wolf and vampire were to be mated. At first, Christian was furious. He had his eyes set on a wolf already, they have been together for a while, and he was planning to marry her. He hated the fact that the Fates had torn him away from someone he had grown to care about. Now, he was mated to someone else, someone he doesn't know, and was here on his wedding day, which was rushed. But since the message came directly from the Fates themselves, telling him that his mate was a vampire destined for greatness, and will b
Christian extended his right arm. With a sigh, though reluctantly, Jessie took it and together they walked down the aisle at a slow pace as the newly wedded couple. A few people clapped as they strolled by, except for one female in particular. She made a growling sound. Her eyes even glowed and her teeth lengthen as if she was ready to attack Jessie. Jessie glanced up at her husband; he didn't seem to have noticed, even if he did, he hid it pretty well. As if Christian could feel Jessie gazing at him, he smiled down at her, then winked. Causing her heart to stop for maybe the hundredth time today. Jessie was still marvelling at how gorgeous Christian was. Handsome wasn't the word to describe him and the way she felt after laying her eyes on him for the first time. "Is this man my husband for real?" "What will life with him be like?" "What would life be like in a pack? With all these werewolves, I
The car skidded to a stop as it pulled up outside a huge, beautiful house. Jessie's eyes widen at how beautiful it looked. The clean all-white of the painted outside gleamed under the dim moonlight, making it seem as if it was straight out of a fairy tale. The moon laces in full bloom made it even more surreal. Jessie couldn't believe it. This was where she'll be living from now on. And it was already much better than the room she had to share with her siblings. If Christian really does as he said and treated Jessie well, or as an equal, and not be an abusive physio, then she just might be comfortable there. ''Maybe it wouldn't be so bad living in a house full of wolves or a community with them.'' Jessie thought. Like a gentleman, Christian got out of the car first, walked around to Jessie's side of the car, and let her out. It took a great deal for Jessie to get out of the car, even with the help
Christian aggressively wiped at his lips and stared at the pink lipstick that now stained his lips as well. He shook his head to come out of his state of confusion, then chased after Jessie. "What the hell? One minute you are kissing me, the next you are screaming in my face.'' He shouted after her, but because of his state of shock, he moved too slow to catch up with her. That kiss had his senses running wild, his every being had come alive at the sensation. He had always heard about the effect that one's mate had on the other, but he never knew it would be this strong. He was in a daze, and if it was for the familiar scents of his home, he would have lost it. Christian walked to her door and gentle knock, ''Jessie, are you ok, what did I do?'' All he heard was sobbings from inside, but because she locked the door, it made it impossible to go comfort her. Of course, Christian could easily break the door down, but he did
Jessie closed her eyes and prayed before eating, something that was beaten into her from a young age. Peter, her father, had always said that they should be grateful for the meal that was provided, because he didn't have to feed her or her siblings or know when God will provide for another. Which was right, he had all the food to himself, and preferred to feed his wife and his namesake. All he gave Jessie and his two other daughters were what's left, the scrapes, which wasn't much. A slice of stale bread to share for them, a chicken breast or one baked potato. And that's it. They were expected to never complain or ask for more. It was after getting a full scholarship to uni did Jessie know a belly full; When she opened her eyes, Christian was staring at her with a confused look. A small smile spread across his face as he nodded to himself. Confused, she asked. "What is it?" But got no response from him. "Tell me about yo
Jessie and Christian sat together talking for a while in the kitchen until Jessie's eyes start closing down and her head was nodding, while listening to Christian's soothing voice. "Time for bed." Christian took Jessie by the hand, then unexpectedly lift her up and brought her up to her room. She reclined her head on his chest, listening to the fast speed of his heartbeat; it was as if his chest was filled with hummingbird wings instead of a heart. Completely different from that of a vampire or human. Jessie knew for a fact that she will be in for a wild ride. She closed her eyes in thought. 'Am I ready? Maybe not, but for Christian, I'll try my best.' Christian leered down at his bride, noticing how perfectly she fit in his arms. "Damn it.'' He sighed out. Jessie opened her eyes to stare up at him, noting the deep frown between his brows. "You can put me down if I'm too heavy.'' Jessie sa

While Jaden is sleeping in the other room, Jessie laid on Christian's chest, enjoying the warmth radiating off him. He ran circles on her lower back as he spoke. "I hope it's a boy this time, because it feels as if you and Jaden are always teaming up on me." "It's because you didn't know what we were up to." "I should have known. I see the way you have been drinking from me lately, and being a bit mood." Jessie rolled her eyes, "it's not so bad, with Jaden it was worst." Christian kissed her lips. "You are the best woman in this world. I love you more than life itself." Jessie sat up to kiss Christian, "and I love you so much." Christian rolled over so that he was now on top of her. "Not too much pressure." She pointed at her stomach. "Don't worry, I won't hurt my little prince." Christian raised her legs to settle between them, then rested his head on her chest. "I wonder what new advent
Jessie laid on her back staring at Christian, with Jaden in-between them. Both of them were fast asleep, tired from sightseeing all day. Jaden smiled in her sleep, maybe from memory of the day or a pleasant dream. Jessie ran a thumb over her cheek, wishing that this moment could last forever, and that no more threats will come their way for a long time. It felt as if a tremendous burden has been lifted off her shoulders, as if all the things in the world have finally aligned and made sense. Jessie leant closer to Christian to kiss his lips, his eyes opened, and he smiled at her. "Are you watching us sleep?" "I have no shame in doing it." Christian kissed her forehead. "I don't mind, I mean. I am sexy, so get your eyes full." Jessie rolled her eyes, "you are so conceited." "No, I'm confident." Jaden sat up in the bed all of a sudden, threw herself on Jessie's chest, then went back to sleep.
It has now been a month since Jaden-Jamie-Lee's birth, and she already looked as if she was ten months old. Crawling all over the place and stealing hearts. "Whose a pretty baby?" Jessie tickled her stomach, then kissed the soles of her feet. Jaden laughed uncontrollably and squirmed to get away from her mother. "I love you so much.'' Jaden-Jamie-Lee laughed up at Jessie as if she understood what was said. "How are my to favourite girls?" Christian asked, entering into the room. "Better than ever." Jessie smiled, leaning into him and receiving a kiss on the forehead. Christian gently pinched Jaden's cheeks, she smiled and held onto his finger "You are getting so big." Christian picked her up, then threw her in the air. "Hey now, I know she has powers and all, but can you not do that?" Jessie would worry every time she saw someone throwing her in the air. Despite her seeming to enjoy it, Jessie, on the ot
When Camille finally recovered, she slowly got off the ground with such rage in her eyes that Jessie feared she might start shooting lasers. Her words slurred as she tried to speak, while she swayed and stumbled after taking a step. Out of anger, she charged at Jessie instead of using her powers. Christian grabbed her by the neck, then slammed her down on the ground. Camille placed a hand around his, did a spell that caused his hand to turn black. Christian roared out, letting her go. "You are too emotional." Britannia yelled, sending a blast at Camille. Christian picked up his spear and sent a jolt of lightning at them. Camille screeched out, flying for the window, but it was as if invisible hands stopped her. She gave Christian a murderous look, then held out her right hand. "Mantua." She said, an annoyed look crossed her face when nothing happened. "Mantua." She said again, still nothing happened.
Britannia conjured up daggers to throw at Jessie, who used her sword to deflect them. Britannia chanted a spell, but whatever she said had no effect on her. "Tricks are for kids." Jessie shot out more fire at her, which burnt her right arm. "You will see why a witch is not to be messed with vampire." She sneered, moving her hands and fingers around until blur energy crackled from them, then held her hand out towards Jessie. Suddenly, it felt as if hands were holding her down, clawing at her skin and pulling at her hair. Jessie tried to break free from the invisible hands, but the more she struggled, the more they clawed and tighter their grip got. "The spirit of all the witches that have died in this house, they despise vampires and now wolves." Britannia threw a distasteful look Christian's way. Jessie tried to call out to her husband, but the hand covered her mouth. All she could do now was watch as Christian sailed into the wall, th
When the four stepped through the door, four young witches and a man holding a shotgun greeted them. ''Welcome.'' The gun slinging man said. Causing one girl with dark curly hair to roll her eyes. "Oh look, dumb and dumber, have teamed up with tweedle dee and tweedle dum, for their deaths." Jasmin smiled. "More like doom patrol, because they are doomed for coming here." A tall skinny dark skin female laughed. Again the curly hair girl rolled her eyes. "How long did it take for you to come up with that? Now move, we have no fight with you. It is Britannia and her daughter we want." Jessie said, waving her hand to shoo the away.
"Jessie, I know they upset you. But I don't think just charging in a house full of witches is the best idea." Anna-Beth said. Jessie ignored her words while putting her hair up. "Why isn't anyone trying to stop her?" She turned to everyone for support. "Because Anna-Beth, that bi*ch almost killed my baby. What do you want me to do, just sit around and wait for another attack? One of our best nanny’s was placed under a spell. It has been three days now, and she is still sleeping." Anna-Beth opened her mouth, but Jessie held up a hand to stop her. "If it was MacKenzie, would you just sit and wait?" Jessie asked. "Christian is coming with me. We have already dwelt with one enemy. W
While Jessie and Christian were out, Camille disguised herself as a nanny. "I'm here to relief you." Camille said, swinging her hips as she entered Jaden-Jamie-Lee's room. The nanny looked her up and down. "I have another hour left." Camille rolled her eyes, then blew dust in her face. The nanny fell forward. Camille moved out of the way, looking down at her. "Oh dear, anyway. Where is that little abomination?" Camille walked over to the crib to see the baby staring up at her. "Hmm, you actually look beautiful." Camille leant her head to the side, rubbing a finger over the baby's cheek. ''So precious, so disgusting." Camille then gave her a pinch. "Oh, did that hurt?" She laughed when Jaden-Jamie-Lee started to fuss, then picked her up. "There, there. Let me tell you a story." Camille shook her violently from side to side. She almost dropped Jaden-Jamie-Lee when volts of electricity rocked her body. But instead,
