Jessie stopped on the landing of the second floor, contemplating about running. She even pushed at the window, then pretended to be hot and fan at her face, when someone glanced at her.

"How far would I get? If these people were really wolves, they would catch up to me."

Jessie closed her eyes, thinking that her dad wouldn't be so stupid to marry her off to their mortal enemies. Then again, in his drunk state, he would.

Jessie's pulse quickens. After all she had heard about werewolves, she was so scared to marry one. They are very territorial, temperamental, vicious and lived in packs, where everyone shared the same house.

The man following behind Jessie coughed to cover up a laugh. She glanced over her shoulder to see what was funny, then wondered if she had farted.

She paused to ask him what he found funny, but thought against it.

Jessie walked onward to her doom, not knowing what awaited her on the other side of the enormous double doors.

Peter, who was now dressed in an old brown tuxedo, with his hair as greasy as ever, was waiting for Jessie at the door leading out to the garden. He had on a fake smile on his face and a bruised eye.

'Sever you right for hitting me.' Jessie wanted to say.

He has finally met someone that hits back, and harder too.

Ignoring his hand, Jessie checked out her reflection in the stained glass. But with his temper, Peter grabbed a hold of Jessie's elbow and she pulled away.

"Will you stop, it's my wedding day and all you are doing is hurting me.'' Jessie exclaimed, hoping the guard will come beat on him some more. Sadly, he was nowhere behind her anymore.

The only persons present were ones she didn't know and presumed to be her bride's maids.

"Pull a stunt like that again,'' her father balled his fist and brought it up to her face.

Jessie flinched away from him, thinking that he would have hit her again.

No one in our presence tried to stop his threats or even seemed to care.

''Now smile, everyone will be watching.'' He whispered.

Jessie looked around, trying to find Kimmy in the crowd of faces, but to no avail, she couldn't. Jessie almost hung her head, but remembered that she was getting married today and had to at least act happy.

Where are you Kimberly? Jessie thought.

She was the only solid foundation Jessie had right now. Well, at least until she leaves.

The bridesmaids looked almost sorry for Jessie, but there were others that looked envious. Wishing they were in her position, wearing her dress and walking down the aisle. Which she would be glad to give to them. I had no interest in my wedding.

"Who were even these people?" Jessie looked around, trying to access the faces, who all gave her nasty looks.

Suddenly Kimberly leaped out of nowhere with tears in her eyes, launching herself at Jessie with her arms tight around her shoulders as she whispered.

"Jessica, listen to me. You're going to be fine. Keep in contact with me, just to let me know you are still alive. They call him Alpha for a reason. You might not like it, so I won't say. Find that out on your own.’’

Jessie nodded, but she already knew why, she had figured it out from upstairs.

Jessie tried to speak to her, but by then someone was prying Kimmy off Jessie. Despite them trying their hardest to hold on to each other, their grip loosens.

They were eventually torn apart. Jessie and her favourite sister, probably to never see each other again.

"Goodbye, is not forever. I'm sure we'll see each other again. I promise!'' Kimmy smiled.

And with that, they threw her out because they did not invite her to begin with. Neither were their parents, but the groom was only trying to make Jessie happy. Too bad he didn't know the heartache he had caused.

"Maybe this will be for the best. I'll never see my ignorant father or my dim-witted mother again." Jessie thought, glancing at her father.

The doors to the outside finally opened. Jessie could see people sitting on both sides of the aisle as her bridal party stepped out, pairing with men unfamiliar to her.

The place was still and silent, so much so that you can cut the tension with a knife.

Peter turned towards Jessie, ''you bet not mess this up...'' he didn't finish the statement, he didn't have to. Just the threat is his voice was enough. He then plastered on a huge fake smile and they walked out.

''This is it.''

Jessie couldn't take all the hateful stares she got from the bride's maids, the groom's men, or from everyone around her. Some stood at attention to welcome her arrival, while the others turned up their noses in displeasure.

Jessie kept her head low, staring at the flower petals that littered the pink silk carpet. She tried her best to walk as gracefully as possible.

The music stopped the moment she reached the end of the aisle. Not even noticing until my Peter gave her hand one last squeeze, maybe out of warning or out of luck. Either way, he left Jessie there to stand with everyone else.

''This is it."

With her head low, Jessie accepted the out-stretched hand that was covered in tattoos, and twice the size of her own, but surprisingly, it was gentle.

She glanced up coldly with big grey eyes meeting impassively blue vibrant eyes. Her breathing hitched in my throat. She never expected it to be such a handsome fellow.

Even though she wasn't expecting to get anything in the looks department, one thing she had learnt from Uni, never to trust a face because looks can be deceiving.

But she instantly fell for his looks, from his strong jawline, down to his shoulder-length blonde hair that rested on bulging muscles. His straight nose and even his ear piercings had her going.

So here Jessie was, already fallen for a man because of his looks and not his personality. He could be a Mafia for crying out loud and with those tattoos, who's to tell.

His naturally red, pouty lips part as he stared at her. His pink tongue slowly drifted out as he licked them, possibly from greed or from dryness.

Despite his brooding, Jessie could see a hint of playfulness in his eyes. But she won't let it fool her, not after the way how his nostrils flared as if he was sizing her up to see the woman she was.

Jessie held her head high with a huff, and he chuckled.

He could laugh all he wanted, because Jessie was not planning on giving in so easily and she'll make it as hard as possible for him. There was no way she was going to give in to this union. She didn't care who this man was, or how handsome he was.

"Are there any vows?'' The pastor asked.

"No.'' The man before Jessie said.

They didn't write vows to each other, seeing that they have never met before until now. All they did was repeat after the bold-headed man dressed in red.

To have and to hold.

For better or for worst.

In sickness and in health.

Until death does us part.

Not meaning a single word that came out of her mouth, Jessie frowned as he repeated the same thing.

So deep in thought, thinking about what her life would become now that she was about to get married. She missed all the other bits, but that one word brought her back to the now.

"You may kiss the bride.''

Jessie pulled away from his lips.

Thinking that it wasn't so bad.

A small smile played on her now husband's lips as he gazed into her eyes.

This wasn't how she dreamt of my wedding day.

Then again, who's to say if she would have got married in the future.

"Well, Mrs Stoll, shall we?'

This was the first time in two centuries since a wolf and vampire were to be mated. At first, Christian was furious. He hated the fact that the Fates had torn him away from someone he had grown to care about. Christian extended his right arm. With a sigh, though reluctantly, Jessie took it and together they walked down the aisle at a slow pace as the newly wedded couple. A few people clapped as they strolled by, except for one female in particular. She made a growling sound. Her eyes even glowed and her teeth lengthen as if she was ready to attack Jessie. Jessie glanced up at her husband; he didn't seem to have noticed, even if he did, he hid it pretty well. As if Christian could feel Jessie gazing at him, he smiled down at her, then winked. Causing her heart to stop for maybe the hundredth time today. Jessie was still marvelling at how gorgeous Christian was. Handsome wasn't the word to describe him and the way she felt after laying her eyes on him for the first time. "Is this man my husband for real?" "What will life with him be like?" "What would life be like in a pack? With all these werewolves, I

The car skidded to a stop as it pulled up outside a huge, beautiful house. Jessie's eyes widen at how beautiful it looked. The clean all-white of the painted outside gleamed under the dim moonlight, making it seem as if it was straight out of a fairy tale. The moon laces in full bloom made it even more surreal. Jessie couldn't believe it. This was where she'll be living from now on. And it was already much better than the room she had to share with her siblings. If Christian really does as he said and treated Jessie well, or as an equal, and not be an abusive physio, then she just might be comfortable there. ''Maybe it wouldn't be so bad living in a house full of wolves or a community with them.'' Jessie thought. Like a gentleman, Christian got out of the car first, walked around to Jessie's side of the car, and let her out. It took a great deal for Jessie to get out of the car, even with the help

Christian aggressively wiped at his lips and stared at the pink lipstick that now stained his lips as well. He shook his head to come out of his state of confusion, then chased after Jessie. "What the hell? One minute you are kissing me, the next you are screaming in my face.'' He shouted after her, but because of his state of shock, he moved too slow to catch up with her. That kiss had his senses running wild, his every being had come alive at the sensation. He had always heard about the effect that one's mate had on the other, but he never knew it would be this strong. He was in a daze, and if it was for the familiar scents of his home, he would have lost it. Christian walked to her door and gentle knock, ''Jessie, are you ok, what did I do?'' All he heard was sobbings from inside, but because she locked the door, it made it impossible to go comfort her. Of course, Christian could easily break the door down, but he did

Jessie closed her eyes and prayed before eating, something that was beaten into her from a young age. Peter, her father, had always said that they should be grateful for the meal that was provided, because he didn't have to feed her or her siblings or know when God will provide for another. Which was right, he had all the food to himself, and preferred to feed his wife and his namesake. All he gave Jessie and his two other daughters were what's left, the scrapes, which wasn't much. A slice of stale bread to share for them, a chicken breast or one baked potato. And that's it. They were expected to never complain or ask for more. It was after getting a full scholarship to uni did Jessie know a belly full; When she opened her eyes, Christian was staring at her with a confused look. Jessie and Christian sat together talking for a while in the kitchen until Jessie's eyes start closing down and her head was nodding, while listening to Christian's soothing voice. "Time for bed." Christian took Jessie by the hand, then unexpectedly lift her up and brought her up to her room. She reclined her head on his chest, listening to the fast speed of his heartbeat; it was as if his chest was filled with hummingbird wings instead of a heart. Completely different from that of a vampire or human. Jessie knew for a fact that she will be in for a wild ride. She closed her eyes in thought. 'Am I ready? Maybe not, but for Christian, I'll try my best.' Christian leered down at his bride, noticing how perfectly she fit in his arms. "Damn it.'' He sighed out. Christian woke up for the second time in the middle of the night, this time feeling strange. There was a great pressure on his chest, which made him feel hot. Remembering that he was in bed with Jessie, and it must have been her. He opened his eyes to see half of her body on his chest and her hair in a tangled mess around both of them. Christian had always thought that sleeping with his mate would be peaceful, and she would be curled into his side. But not Jessie. She even snored, drooled a bit, talked in her sleep andshe was the source of heat, almost making Christian sweaty. Instead of waking her, he allowed her to sleep and mumbled away. Wondering what she was dreaming about now, as her brows frowned while she hissed a little. "You are mine, my vampire turned human, my woman, my wife, my mate.'' I see the way you have been drinking from me lately, and being a bit mood." Jessie rolled her eyes, "it's not so bad, with Jaden it was worst." Christian kissed her lips. "You are the best woman in this world. I love you more than life itself." Jessie sat up to kiss Christian, "and I love you so much." Christian rolled over so that he was now on top of her. Jessie laid on her back staring at Christian, with Jaden in-between them. Both of them were fast asleep, tired from sightseeing all day. Jaden smiled in her sleep, maybe from memory of the day or a pleasant dream. Jessie ran a thumb over her cheek, wishing that this moment could last forever, and that no more threats will come their way for a long time. It felt as if a tremendous burden has been lifted off her shoulders, as if all the things in the world have finally aligned and made sense. Jessie leant closer to Christian to kiss his lips, his eyes opened, and he smiled at her. "Are you watching us sleep?" "I have no shame in doing it." Christian kissed her forehead. "I don't mind, I mean. I am sexy, so get your eyes full." Jessie rolled her eyes, "you are so conceited." "No, I'm confident." Jaden sat up in the bed all of a sudden, threw herself on Jessie's chest, then went back to sleep.

When Camille finally recovered, she slowly got off the ground with such rage in her eyes that Jessie feared she might start shooting lasers. Christian grabbed her by the neck, then slammed her down on the ground. Camille placed a hand around his, did a spell that caused his hand to turn black. Christian roared out, letting her go. "You are too emotional." Britannia yelled, sending a blast at Camille. Christian picked up his spear and sent a jolt of lightning at them. Camille screeched out, flying for the window, but it was as if invisible hands stopped her. She gave Christian a murderous look, then held out her right hand. "Mantua." She said, an annoyed look crossed her face when nothing happened. "Mantua." She said again, still nothing happened.

Suddenly, it felt as if hands were holding her down, clawing at her skin and pulling at her hair. Jessie tried to break free from the invisible hands, but the more she struggled, the more they clawed and tighter their grip got.
