A Father Figure

" Butler Yim, prepare a room for this child. It should be filled with necessities that you think he would need" Zheng Tianyi ordered as he entered the house. Just like butler Yim, the three maids on night duty were also equally surprised but couldn't show it on their faces as they have been professionally trained. They just carried on with their duties keeping on a straight face.

" Hey, did you see Master Zheng just now?" One of the maids asked as soon as Zheng Tianyi disappeared.

" Of course. Who was that little boy he carried? " The second maid asked looking equally surprised.

" Could that be his secret son? Thinking about how he once disappeared for a year. It's possible he was married '' The first maid replied placing her hand on hr chin.

The third maid approached them and whispered, " Didn't you hear that Master Zheng is unable to do that ' thing ' again after his accident? That's the reason he hasn't being married given how old he is. No matter how rich a person is, women won't like men that can't 'perform' "

" Ooh..." The two maids nodded in understanding. It was true that Zheng Tianyi had an accident and rumour had it in the socialist circle that he couldn't perform well.

Wanting to dispel the rumours, Butler Yim tried different ways to prove it wrong even going as far to drug him but unfortunately for Butler Yim, Zheng Tianyi caught a wind of his action and had to change his hotel room at the last minute.

One of the maid wasn't convinced so she voiced out her thought, " If Master Zheng is unable to ' perform ' then why does that little boy look like him? " She asked skeptically.

" What are you guys doing huddled up in one place ? Get back to work!!!! " Butler Yim shouted at the three girls causing them to disperse and go on with their work. Butler Yim sighed and wiped his forehead with a napkin. He already saw trouble coming with Zheng Tianyi's action. If not for the efficiency of the maids, they would have been fired. He would have to give them a warning about not spilling the beans.

Butler Yim was extremely surprised when he saw Zheng Tianyi holding the little boy. He was also among those who believed Zheng Tianyi was not able to do that ' thing' . He knew that Zheng Tianyi would still explain everything to him when the time is right.

Zheng Tianyi was oblivious of the trouble he caused downstairs. He felt he had a special connection with Yuxuan probably because of they looked alike so much. He placed Yuxuan on the bed and went to run a bath water for Yuxuan.

Zheng Tianyi remembered Yuxuan's night routine. He contemplated on waking him up but he remembered Jiang Xiuying told him Yuxuan would be uncomfortable the next morning if his night routine was not done.

Zheng Tianyi moved closer to wake Yuxuan up but was welcomed by a glare. He was taken aback.

How can a small boy like him be very vigilant even when he is asleep?

What could have happened?

Zheng Tianyi brushed off the questions he was dying to get answers to. " Come here....let's get to the bathroom " He raised the sleepy Yuxuan up from bed and carried him to the bathroom. Yuxuan was too sleepy to protest. He didn't like being treated as a child. Although he often complains if his mother treated him like one, Jiang Xiuying won't mind him so he hoped Zheng Tianyi won't be like his mother.

Not long after, Zheng Tianyi came out of the bathroom with Yuxuan dressed in blue pajamas. Zheng Tianyi noticed that on the bed, lots of bedtime stories were arranged on it. He smiled knowing it must be Butler Yim's doing.

Zheng Tianyi tucked Yuxuan in and picked on of the bedtime stories and read it out to Yuxuan till he fell asleep. Zheng Tianyi caressed Yuxuan's hair with a rare smile on his face. He was looking forward to be a father figure to Yuxuan. He went to take a shower and turned off the lights.

Zheng Tianyi walked to his study that was located on the far end of the numerous rooms upstairs. He hardly had enough sleep due to his insomnia. Even the sleeping pills were no longer helpful but rather harmful to him. Whenever he takes the pills before bed, he would sleep for about three hours only to be awoken by nightmares causing him to be mentally stressed out the next day. Thankfully due to the nature of his skin, it wasn't obvious that he doesn't get enough of sleep.

" How is she? Did the doctor say everything is fine with her? Where is Dr. Nelson? " Jiang Xiuying asked as she got closer to Lu Beichen who was sitting outside a VIP ward.

Lu Beichen saw his cousin looking haggard. From her dressing, it was obvious she was at work when she received his message and left at once. She looked so worn out after spending about fifteen hours on board.

" Yutong has improved greatly. Her fingers twitched two times in total yesterday. " Lu Beichen informed her as he stood up to meet her.

Jiang Xiuying nodded her head in understanding. At that moment, the door behind Lu Beichen opened and a Doctor came out.

" I see that Ms Jiang is here. Let's talk in my office " Dr. Nelson nodded at her and walked away. Jiang Xiuying looked at Lu Beichen and he waved her .

" I won't come with you. I have to guard this room till the Michael and Marcus arrives. They went to get some food" Michael and Marcus were the two men specially assigned to guard Yutong's ward.

" Alright then. " Jiang Xiuying walked away towards the direction of Dr. Nelson office.

Lu Beichen raised his head to look at Jiang Xiuying back with a deep sigh. His little sister was used to carrying lots of responsibility on her shoulder. She won't even tell anyone the problem she was facing instead, she would keep on smiling and won't reveal her inner feelings.
