Chapter 21 - You have two options.

It was around 5 p.m., and I was still in my room, pacing back and forth with my phone in my hand, repeatedly dialing Lucas's number, but each call went unanswered.

Joan had left about thirty minutes ago because she needed to return to her shop. She owns a beauty salon and had closed it just to come see me.

It has been almost an hour since Grandma called, and I have searched my mind for a comforting lie, but I could not find one. Lucas was also nowhere to be found; I could have gone with him.

There is this bond he has with my Grandma from the first time they met; perhaps he can beg or persuade Grandma that he was drunk or that Felicia drugged him. Oh God!!!

"I opened my wardrobe and put on a red skimpy gown that fell exactly at my knee, flat black slippers, and my black Dior cross bag. I also packed a few extra clothes in case I do not return tonight.

I slowly walked downstairs, feeling as if I had been drained of all my strength.

"Mrs. Helen," I called out to the housekeeper
