“Pauline,” I breathed her name out, my heart rate slowing returning to normal.

I didn't even notice I was holding my breath the whole time. Pauline halted, sparing me a glance before she continued moving towards Ryder.

“He knows you're here.” Her back was turned to me. But her words were meant for me. “He knows about Ryder too. That coward!”
