“Walk with me,” I spoke to Zane as I left the mansion, heading towards the cell. Zane fell in step without a word.

We walked in silence for a while, our feet crunching the ground, wet from the morning dew. I wanted to get over this thing with Trevor before my son woke up.

“Did you gather the warriors as I had instructed?” I asked, breaking the silence.

“Yes,” Zane replied quietly.

“That's good. I would need to address them before I take on Trevor’s proposal.” I sighed. “How did I miss this? My Beta was planning to overthrow me? Right under my nose!”
