Chapter 5

"Bosey, I am sorry but I just want to get this out of the way and be done with it" Mandy said looking him in the eye.

"What are we? Mandy asked Bosey.

Mandy had thought of many ways to pop this question to Bosey but she had to say whatever, as long as she gets the reply she needed.

Bosey was gaver her a sheepish smile.

"We are what you want us to be Mandy"

"I have feelings for you"

This was all Mandy needed from Bosey. An assurance that they both liked each other. Using the word love at the moment was a risk Mandy was not willing to take, until she can confirm the extent of Bosey's feelings for her.

"I have feelings for you too" Mandy said to Bosey.

"So what do you think we should do with this feelings we have for each other" Mandy said covering her face with her palm as though she was shy to have finally told Bosey she had feelings for him.

"Be My Girl" Bosey said. He had waited for this moment.

Telling Mandy to be his and his alone did a lot of things to him which he couldn't explain, all he needed to hear was her reply and confirmation that they are now lovers.

"Before I give you an answer to that, I have to tell you something"

"Frank is of the assertion that you like me for what I have and not for who I am"

"Of course I ignored him because I know that isn't true, I am only telling you to be wary of him"

Bosey wanted to reassure Mandy even though she trusted him.

"I love you Mandy, I cannot express how much I feel for you at the moment, but as time goes on you will get to experience it in action, I assure you I don't care about what you have or who your father was, I like you for who you are"

" You don't have to say that Bosey, I am already aware of that" Mandy said to Bosey.

Mandy dismissed Bosey back to work and decided to go through the inventory from the year past which was signed and documented by Frank. She didn't as much as read upto two pages when something caught her eye.

Frank had been stealing from the farm!

Mandy couldn't believe what she was reading. Was Frank really doing this to them under her father's nose?

This question kept ringing in Mandy's ears. She set out to have a meeting with the accountants and auditors.

After an intense meeting with the farm's accountants and auditors, it was discovered Frank in cohorts with some ranch hands had been diverting goods from the farm to God knows where.

"I want an internal investigation to commence immediately, he might have gotten away with this when it was my father, but not with me" Mandy said to the accountants and auditors.

Mandy was heading to her office when Frank approached her, Mandy ignored him, kept walking but Frank almost pulled her by her arm to stop her from moving forward.

"Don't you ever try to touch me again! Mandy screamed at Frank.

Frank immediately withdrew from Mandy.

"What are you trying to do by ordering an internal investigation without going through me" Frank said to Mandy.

"I am in charge here Frank, I am the president and you are my vice President, why should I go through you. Do I need your permission to take decisions here in the farm? The answer is definitely no.

Mandy tried to leave but Frank blocked her way.

"Out of my way Frank" Mandy said.

Frank almost didn't want to let Mandy pass, on second thought he did. There were eyes everywhere and he couldn't talk to her about the investigation with everyone watching them.

"I will see you in your office later" Frank said to Mandy.

Mandy again ignored him and headed straight to her office.

Sitting in her chair, Mandy picked up her father's photo on her desk staring at it, before she could put the photos back, she unknowingly wiped her face and noticed she was crying.

"I miss you so much dad, did you know Frank was doing all of this? Did you intentionally overlook his misdemeanors because of how close you two were? she said still staring at the photo.

Growing, up Mandy has never heard anything about her mother. Her father never mentioned her and whenever Mandy asks him, he changes the topic. Mandy wished she knew her mother, if only she were here things won't be as difficult as they are for her now.

Mandy has always thought of looking for her mother because she has this feeling she was somewhere waiting for her to find her.

What could have transpired between her parents. Mandy couldn't think of what could have made them seperate. Even though her father never spoke of her mother nor did he try to find her, she will try to find her to make amends. Her mother was her only living parent. She will do all it takes to find her.

Mandy hired a private investigator who could help locate her mother wherever she was, the private investigator named his price and Mandy assured him money will not be a problem. All she needed was to know her mother's where about.

Amidst all the happenings within the farm, all Mandy could think of at the moment was being with Bosey. Immediately Mandy had the thoughts of Bosey, Bosey came to her.

"Wow Bosey, it is almost like we think together, I was having thoughts of you and then here you are"

Bosey walked to Mandy, gave her a warm hug. Mandy leaned in and hugged Bosey tight. Bosey could feel the tightness of her hug but couldn't tell her to take it easy as he was aware of all that she has been through for the day.

Mandy needed to talk to someone about her mother and Bosey was the only person she could tell.

'"I want to search for my mother" Mandy said to Bosey.

Bosey had often heard rumours of the chairman's ex-wife. Some were of the opinion that the chairman's wife cheated on him, some also said the chairman's wife abandoned her family to run off with a man. But Bosey didn't want to involve himself in gossip, he always left whenever they started saying such things among the ranch hands.

"What do you know about your mother" Bosey asked Mandy.

"I know absolutely nothing about her. I don't even know what she looks like"

"My father never spoke about her. If I eventually ask him, I notice his countenance changes and he immediately changes the topic".

"Does it really make sense that my father couldn't tell me anything about the woman who gave birth to me. What could have hardened his heart towards her, I really can't figure it out"

Bosey didn't know what else to say, all he could do was comfort her, tell her that everything is going to be okay. He didn't want her to hear the rumours and he couldn't also bring himself to tell her. He knows it will break her. She has been through a lot for one day. Maybe, just maybe he could try to tell her some other day in a way that wouldn't be a shock to her.

Mandy had explained to Bosey all she discussed with the private investigator who wants to look for her mother, telling Bosey everything made her feel good to let it all out. She felt suffocated not being able to tell anyone.

Bosey walked Mandy to the mansion, kissed her goodnight and went to his room.

Bosey while on his bed, thought of ways to help Mandy but it all comes blank to him. He is just a ranch hand who was trying to make ends meet. Bosey pondered on what Frank had said about him being with Mandy because of her wealth and not because he loves or cares for her. His mind is clouded with thoughts of other people saying the same thing when they realise he is dating the chairman's daughter. What if he is called a gold digger, what if he is shamed or made fun of by other ranch hands. Just at that moment, there was a knock on his door. He opened the door and there she was standing in her nightgown like the sun that shines bright, his girl, she was his and immediately all thoughts of what ifs vanished from his mind.

Mandy couldn't sleep a wink even though she was stressed out and tired from all the ruckus of the day.

Bosey's fantasies vanished almost immediately when he realised Mandy was standing in front of his room.

"Mandy, What are you doing here? Bosey asked Mandy in a sushed voice.

"Can I come in" Mandy said.

"Come in please, Bosey said to Mandy.

"You really have to be careful Mandy, what if someone saw you coming to my room"

" I don't care about that Bosey, all I care about is you"

Mandy moved closer to Bosey, held him on his waist, kissed his shoulder, kissed his palm then moved to his lips, kissed him with all she got. This made Bosey lose focus, he forgot his next words and let Mandy do to him what she wishes. He grabbed Mandy by her waist and led her to his bed......
