Chapter 49: Jax - Telling Nick the news

I walked over and gave her a kiss before turning to Leah. “I didn’t know you could cook.”
She gave me a smile. “I was worried you’d stop feeding me if you knew. Besides, I only cook on special occasions.”
Me and Cassie sat down on the table as Leah came over with the food. We ate in silence for a while, enjoy the rich flavours of the casserole Leah had made.
“So, how did Nick take the news?” Leah asked.
I swallowed my food before meeting her gaze. “I haven’t told him yet.”

I was running fast through the forest. Much faster than I had ever run before. But I seemed to be aware of everything around me, the smells, the light movement of the wind, the sharpness and colours of the trees.I was gracefully swaying in and out between the trees, the placement of my feet precise. I looked down and saw my paws connecting to the ground. It was a chilly day, but the coldness didn’t bother me. My fur kept me warm.The sun was peeking out from the horizon, but I felt no fear. The sunlight could not hurt me in this form. I continued running. I heard a twig break behind me, I tried to run faster. But eventually a massive wolf jumped me and got me to a stop. I looked up and saw Mark in his wolf form. “You may be fast but you can’t outrun me.” he said in my mind as he licked my muzzle.
