Chapter 31: Jax - Marks Wolf

2024-10-29 19:42:56Helplessness filled me as Mark bent over in pain again. Cassie sat next to him, trying to sooth him with no luck. Leah had sprung into action and was currently creating some sort of potion.
I thought about the energy that I had given to Sky that woke her up from her sleep. I neared the sofa. Mark growled at me. A clear sign he did not want my help. I back away again. I wasn’t going to force Mark to do anything.
“Here, get him to drink this,” Leah said as she handed Cassie a bottle. She carefully poured some into Mark’s mouth. A moment later, his body seemed to relax.
I looked over and gave Leah a smile. It died on my face as Cassie let out a shriek and the sounds of bones popping filled the air.

I’ve been sitting in my room for a few hours, studying, when suddenly I hear a door open and close. My concentration shattered, I put the book away and listened for more sounds.
