I’ve been sitting in my room for a few hours, studying, when suddenly I hear a door open and close. My concentration shattered, I put the book away and listened for more sounds. I hear a second door open and close, this time I could feel the wall vibrating. whoever is looking through the rooms is not being careful. I try to think of who it could be when my door springs open. In walks a big massive wolf.

My first instinct is to run and I jump up from my chair, ready to use my magic to escape. I looked over at the wolf and glanced into his eyes. A moment later I was running towards him and putting my arms around him.

“You came for me. I can’t believe you came for me.”

Mark responded by licking my face. I was so happy. I burrowed my face into his fur.

We had made it halfway to the others when a voice rang out in the air. For a moment everything was dead silent, and then everyone started using their magic at once.Mark pushed me to the ground, I barely escaped the fire that had been coming towards us. I jumped up on Mark's back and he ran towards the others. Leah and Leaf had created a protective barrier. We disappeared behind it and Mark dropped me to the ground before his head was all over me, sniffing and licking.I moved his head away “I’m okay. I didn’t get hit.”It seemed to calm him down. I got up and looked around. It was complete mayhem, the air was filled with colourful blasts of fire and water. I didn’t want to hurt the other witches, they were innocent in all of this, having been brainwashed, and it looked like the rest of

I made it to the front and watched as Hecate and Freya fought each other. Freya stumbled, and I made my way over to help her up. As I turned around, I saw Cassie in the crowed. She was helping a witch that was lying on the floor.I looked up and met the high priestess’s gaze, an evil smile appearing on her face before she threw a dagger right at Cassie. My heart stopped as I sprinted over to Cassie, but I was too late. The dagger had already hit her heart, blood streaming down her body as she collapsed on the floor. I grabbed her in my arms, a scream leaving my lungs. I have nothing left to fight for. The demon inside me gets to the surface, and for once I am not fighting it. I don’t care if my demon side takes over and kills everyone. I’ve already lost Cassie. I slammed the high priestess into a wall, the walls shook and she collapsed on the floor. I hope she’s dead, she dese

I looked toward the stage, Jax stood there in all his demon glory. It was a terrifying view, but the sorrow and sincerity that radiated from Jax made him less scary.Several memories entered my head and showed me Katie’s and Jax's journey together.Jax was walking in a field. A girl in her late teens came into view. She looked sad. Jax asked her if she wanted to come and get a horse with him, and she nodded slightly. As they were walking, Jax told her jokes to cheer her up. As they reached the horse, she was smiling and laughing. The scene quickly changed to another. They were sitting in the field talking and laughing. It was easy to see that they were growing closer. The next scene that turned up in my head showed Jax proposing to Katie. It was so beautiful, I couldn’t help the tears that fell down my c

I scanned the temple, amazed to see all the witches bowing in front of us. I looked over at Leaf, who stood next to Freya, tears streaming down her face.My heart filled itself with pride. She was finally where she belonged, the leader of the witches. It had been hard to see what had happened to Leaf. I should have been there to protect her. But at the same time, I was very grateful for Edmund. He had been almost like a father to me when I lived in the witch village and I was happy to learn that he had been looking after my daughter. I would forever be in debt to him.I was lost in thoughts, too caught up with everything. Freya and Leaf’s attention were towards the crowd. In the corner of my eyes, I saw Hecate through a dagger towards Freya. She had recovered from the blow and gotten up from the floor wi

I was standing in the temple with everyone else, and in the next moment excruciating pain consumed me and I screamed. A moment later it stops. I opened my eyes and scanned the surrounding area. I was inside our cabin. Tears of relief fell down my face. Freya was right. I could leave the temple. Before I have any more time to think, Mark storms into the cabin. He runs up to me and cradles me in his arms.“I was so scared,” he admitted. I knew he would never admit it to anyone else. He preferred that people viewed him as tough and without emotion, however as our bond grew, I learned so much more about him and really the big tough guy that doesn’t care was nothing but a front.I was worried though, I had broken our bond so he could get his powers back. He had said we would talk about it later, and the

I opened my eyes slowly. Someone had moved me. I was no longer outside as there was soft padding underneath me and realised that I was in the cabin. Someone was moving around, it made me uneasy as I was not sure who it was. I tried to sit up and open my eyes.“Cassie” I whispered as Sky came into my view.“Where’s Cassie?” My voice came out as a whisper and I wasn’t sure she had heard me.“Just rest, the others are getting her for you.”Knowing that Cassie was okay, I lied back down on the sofa. Every movement was tiring. It felt like a mountain had hit me. I struggled to keep my eyes open. The sound of the door opening got my attention again, and I fought my body to

Mark and I had gone into the bedroom to give Jax and Cassie some privacy. The thought that Mark didn’t hate me and still cared for me, despite everything I had done, left a warm feeling in my heart. He had his ability to shift back, I had my magic back, and we hadn’t lost anyone. I tried not to think about the witch village. We haven’t heard anything from anyone yet, but it had only been a few hours since we got back. Who knew how much magic a spell that could move an entire village to another realm required. I like to think that they had succeeded and were resting and recharging before getting back here.“Let me see your hand?” Mark demanded.“They’re fine,” I said as I waved them in his face.“Why didn’t

I was standing next to the makeshift stage by the big oak tree, watching as the Alpha entered the stage. It amazed me how everything had turned out. The alpha had agreed, and we were now waiting for the pack ceremony to start.“...Freya has a few words she likes to say before we start.”My thought’s go cut short when I heard the Alpha mention Freya’s name and I moved my attention to the stage.“Thank you Alpha Derek.&r

We spend the next couple of days going back and forth to the witch village to help out. It was nice seeing my family again, but Night was still avoiding me. We had eventually found Dawn in the ruins, piled on top of the high priestess. It looked like she had sacrificed herself to save the high priestess. Most of her bones had been broken, and it was speculated that she had taken a hit from a stone wall or maybe the ceiling falling on top of her.The high priestess was still alive, but in terrible shape. Part of me wished she would die. She deserved it for what she had put us through. Maybe if we had gotten to my sister sooner, she could still have been alive, but I guess fate had other plans for her. They were planning a massive funeral ceremony for everyone that had got killed in the crossfire or when the building collapsed. Leah had found the ceremony i

Besides, I only cook on special occasions.”Me and Cassie sat down on the table as Leah came over with the food. We ate in silence for a while, enjoy the rich flavours of the casserole Leah had made.“So, how did Nick take the news?” Leah asked.I swallowed my food before meeting her gaze. “I haven’t told him yet.”“Scared he’d kill

I woke up when I heard the door to the cabin close. Mark had left earlier that day to attend some pack business. Technically, he wasn’t part of the pack yet, but he had told me that the Alpha had plans to perform the ceremony as soon as things had calmed down.I got up and walked into the living room, hoping Mark would have some news, when I saw Cassie.“Hi Cassie.”She gave me a smile and a wave. The massive rock on her hand almost blinded me.“Holy Goddess,” I said as I made my way towards her to inspect the ring.“When did this happen?”“Last night” she beamed with happiness.

I wasn’t ready to go back home to reality, so instead of getting up, I put my arm around Cassie and pulled her closer to me. Kissing the back of her head as I breathed in her scent. I was overjoyed with happiness.Eventually Cassie stirred and we reluctantly got up.“How about a swim before we go back?” I said with a smile.“Won’t it be cold?”“There’s only one way to find out,” I said as I grabbed hold of Cassie’s hand and jumped into the water. The water was just cold enough to wake u

My skin was still red, but the blisters seemed to have gone away. I wouldn’t want to be out around humans looking like this, even if it wasn’t painful, I was bound to get some funny stares. At least the wolves knew me and what we all been through. They wouldn’t give it a second thought. Some of them had some gruesome scars on display themselves.I got my coat and sca

I woke up before the sun was up. My body felt rejuvenated and I couldn’t wait to spread my wings. I wrote Cassie a note before I made my way over to the window and transformed into a crow.I flew high in the sky, enjoying the chilly wind under my wings. The sky had turned a light shade of blue, the sun would get up soon. I thought about Freya and teleported to her realm. Maybe she was at home. I slowly made my way over to her cottage. My thoughts replaying all the events in my head. I still didn’t understand why Cassie had not run away from me. She had seen the monster that I truly was. It warmed my heart knowing she was still by my side despite everything. When I got to the cottage, no one was home. She usually knew I was coming, but there was no welcome, no newly brewed tea. I didn’t even see her two cats that were always hanging around. She

I was running fast through the forest. Much faster than I had ever run before. But I seemed to be aware of everything around me, the smells, the light movement of the wind, the sharpness and colours of the trees.I was gracefully swaying in and out between the trees, the placement of my feet precise. I looked down and saw my paws connecting to the ground. It was a chilly day, but the coldness didn’t bother me. My fur kept me warm. The sun was peeking out from the horizon, but I felt no fear. The sunlight could not hurt me in this form. I continued running. I heard a twig break behind me, I tried to run faster. But eventually a massive wolf jumped me and got me to a stop. I looked up and saw Mark in his wolf form. “You may be fast but you can’t outrun me.” he said in my mind as he licked my muzzle.
