Mia's POV

I was full of mixed emotions when I reached my parents' home. I was going to see my father after almost a month and return to the house where I lived for eighteen years of my life. The car stopped at the door of the Valerio mansion, and my heart started thumping loudly in my chest due to nervousness.

My old family never liked me. I was reconsidering my decision to come here for lunch, and Xavier wasn't with me. Oh God, help me. Since childhood, I used to be nervous around them, and this habit couldn't change in a few days. I took a deep breath. I was now Mrs. Leonardi, and I didn't need to be intimidated by anyone.
