JUST BECAUSE WE ARE DOING THIS.

VESPERA.

My heart did a triple flip. My palms grew sweaty and my throat went dry immediately. I let out a low cough and signaled to Madam Gracia I needed water.

“Here, my dear,” She said as she handed me a glass of water and proceeded to help me take a sip, but then I drowned the entire content in a gulp and felt a little better.

“Tell the Lycan twins she isn’t feeling well and isn’t ready for them,” Madam Garcia spoke on my behalf, and I turned to look at her, gratitude obvious in my eyes. 

The maid bowed and left. Afterward, Madam Garcia turned to face me. 

“How did you end up injured, don’t tell me you tried to commit suicide?” She scolded me, a scowl appearing on her face.

“ No,” I replied, nodding sideways then the scowl dropped. 

“So, what happened?” She inquired, her brows rising in curiosity. I contemplated whether to tell her my younger sister tried to kill me or to keep my mouth shut and form a lie.

But looking into her hazel orbs, something in me told me I could tell her, confide in her so I took in a deep breath and began.

“When I went out for fresh air, my younger sister, who despised me so much, attacked me and slammed my head against the wall,” I explained, and she reared back from shock.

“Your own sister did that to you, younger for that matter?” She questioned in disbelief, and I nodded. She went silent, still looking at me but with a blank expression.

“What type of family do you have? First, your parents sold you, and now your younger sister is hitting you?” she inquired, shaking her head sideways like it was all just too much for her to believe.

It was still hard for me to believe, too, but then it was my fate. Madam Garcia looked like she was about to say something else when the door burst open and in came the maid.

Her expression looked crest-fallen and her orbs had sorrows in them. I knew there was bad news coming instantly and it was related to the Lycan twins.

“What is it ?” Madam Garcia inquired from her and she replied.

“The Lycan twins request she gets ready for them immediately” Madam Garcia looked taken aback by her words.

“Did you inform them I said she was ill?”. 

“Yes, Madam Garcia.” The maid nodded, and Madam Garcia let out a tired sigh before turning to look at me. Meanwhile, my body froze because I felt paralyzed by the news.

“I am sorry dear” Madam Garcia apologized. I turned to smile at her weakly, my eyes wet with unshed tears.

“It’s not your fault, please don’t apologize,” I told her, then made a move to get up from the bed and stood in front of the mirror, waiting to get changed. 

The maids got to work, and while I stared at myself, I noticed a white gauze wrapped around my forehead.

I was dressed in a sexy nightie. Short, barely below my thigh, silk, thin, and exposive. It felt just like air on my body, the front had a shape in the form of the letter V, exposing my cleavage.

I was wrapped in a soft, warm Jacket, my hair pulled from the buns and let down to my shoulders. My feet were washed after and my hands dried. I was set to go and found my breathing becoming hard.

I was finally going to see them again and probably be alone with them till the next morning. I couldn’t describe my feelings exactly but I did know, my stomach twisted, churning.

I was led into their chambers, and before I went in, I stopped at my pace, fidgeting with my hands, my heart racing.

'Was I really about to do this?' I pondered, before taking in a deep breath and stepping into the room. 

I let out a low gasp, my eyes bulging as I ran it around the room, at the light and darkness, but at the same time marveled at its beauty. The room was painted in a mixture of white and black, entailing dread.

There were golden stripes everywhere, the bed stood at the center and I noticed there were rose petals on it. I stood unblinking, trying to process what I just saw.

I heard the door open and close behind me and I jumped up from fright but didn’t turn around because I knew they were in. I couldn’t face them nor could I bear the look of the disgust I saw in their eyes earlier this evening.

Everywhere went silent, and for me, it was like an eternity, and I kept breathing in and out.

“Are you about suffocating or what?” I heard one of them ask, in his dark, manly voice. I just stood there, not knowing what to say in response and, at the same time, not wanting to appear rude.

They already hate me enough.

“Turn around”. I remained stiff, hands trembling but still not turning. More like my legs were frozen.

“ I am sure you are not deaf.” The voice was stern and hard this time, so I immediately did as I was told, not wanting to annoy them any further.

I turned to face them but bent my head downwards looking at the ground instead. I couldn’t summon the courage to look them in the eyes or face.

I thought they would be pleased by this but it seemed like I had displeased them more as one of them growled, terrifyingly.

“Look up right now”. My legs wobbled, and I shivered before obeying again. It took time but I finally looked up. They were both dressed in simple, armless robes showing their bulgy arms.

"What happened to your head?" They both asked simultaneously, their tone warm as they both exchanged a look while I caught myself and took my hand to my head.

"An accident!". I replied, and there was silence as they both moved closer and instead of moving backward, I felt stuck instead and breathed in their manly scent, which was a mixture of aqua and citrus.

I felt a flutter in my chest like a butterfly was moving around. I also found myself surprisingly, leaning closer as my skin tingled with anticipation.

“Just because we are doing this now does not mean you will ever mean anything to us”. The red-haired told me, his words cutting through me like a knife.

'How can someone be gentle and cold at the same time, didn't they just inquire about my wound?' I wondered as he moved closer and grabbed me by my arm, bringing me closer into the midst of him and his brother.

Tears gathered at the corner of my eyes, but before they could fall, his lips silenced them as his brother moved behind me, and began trailing his hands on my thighs, distracting me.
