I still can't believe it. I never could, since the first day I set my eyes on her. She looked exactly, just like her. Just like a mistress, my mistress.

I still remember the day as vividly as I can. It's a day I can never forget in my entire 49 years of living. She was lying there, covered in blood, on the frozen floor, snowflakes falling from above as she shivered, her hands trembling as she raised them up to touch her.

" My dear, we may never get to meet again, but I promise I will always be with you" were her last words, as her face crumbled into a weak smile before she gave up the ghost, her baby, as if sensing her mother was no more, crying loudly.

" I promise to keep her safe, mistress" I remember whispering those words, making those promises as I watched her body burn into ashes. A result of her powers.

I made a promise I couldn't keep. I lost her, just because I was running from the enemies, promised to return for her but unfortunately, couldn't find her as I got back.

' Vespera, where are you?' I often wondered, during days and nights but got nothing till she arrived. Their breeder is a low-life but elegant and smells of royalty to me.

Despite having similar features and bearing the same name. There is no necklace or marks on her. Could it just be a coincidence, or is she truly the one?

Nevertheless, she reminds me a lot of my late mistress and daughter. I watched, my heart crumbling into pieces as she went away with that servant of Miss Lily.

I could feel something was amiss, something was not right but I didn't get to tell her before she dashed away, out of here with excitement. Her steps were Swift and fast like she couldn't wait to see him.

' was she probably falling for him or the both of them?' I pondered, knowing wherever this was leading to, wasn't going to be good, for I felt like a knot was being tied in my tummy, this feeling of dread going through me.

I decided to get back to work, and as I was ordering the maids around, I saw Lord Kieran heading in the same direction as they went and breathed a sigh of relief, but then froze, my heart skipping a beat as it hit me.

The maid said Lord Kieran was waiting for her in the courtyard but that wasn't the way to the courtyard. I was so preoccupied with my thoughts and worries, that I didn't even notice.

' Now, I was sure. Something bad was going to happen if it wasn't already happening, and it was to Vespera '. I thought as I immediately rounded the maids up and headed in the same direction.

" I have to find a way to stop whatever is going to happen. I have to," I muttered to myself, but then, as I was moving, holding my gown up so it could enable me to move faster, my way got blocked by a giant, a huge man who was glaring down with fury, obviously through his orbs.

" Excuse me," I snapped, feeling my body unstable as I just wanted him out of my way, so I could move and save her, but he refused to budge, and I was about to yell at him when she came in.

" And where do you think you are going?" She inquired, the side of her lips curving up into a sneer, as she bit down on her lower lips. I started shaking within, my hands trembling so badly I had to hide them behind my back.

Seeing I didn't answer, she ordered her guard to bundle me up but I immediately took a step backwards.

" This is rude, Lady Lily," I snapped at her and made to ignore her, leaving again in a hurry to get Vespera, despite feeling a lump at the back of my throat.

" Oh please! You old -hag, you should be grateful I am even stooping low to pay attention to you," Lady Lily spat at me before huffing and rolling her eyes.

I felt insulated, but that wasn't on my mind at the moment. It was Vespera.

" I don't like beating around the bush, so I will get straight to the point,, " She bega,n, and I blessed the moon goddess within myself, for she was really starting to annoy me.

" Kieran and Kalisto would probably come to ask you, if my maid, came to relay any messages to Vespera about them in your presence and I would want you to say no" she dropped the bombshell, making me widen my eyes in shock, before bursting into laughter.

She looked taken aback, the thin lines of her brows jumping in surprise at me laughing at her ridiculous words, before she scrunched up her face into a frown and clenched her fists, looking like she was ready to punch anything.

" Mind sharing with me, what is funny?" She asked, venom obvious in her tone.

" I am so sorry Lady Lily but I can't lie against Vespera. I can only say the truth as it is". I told her and her scowl deepened. So it was just as I thought, Vespera was in trouble.

Fear slowly creeped into me as I began to wonder if she was okay.

" So, no. Lady Lily". I made to walk pass her when her bodyguard, suddenly grabbed me by my hand and shoved me backwards, roughly into the wall.

I let out a low yell, as my back gazed at the wall, my wrist getting bruised by the hard impact. I suddenly heard a loud wail of laughter and turned to see Lady Lily, holding her tummy and pointing at me as she laughed, loudly.

" I suspected you might say something similar to that" . She said, admist her laughter. Her blue eyes, glowing and making her look beautiful. Just then, the laugh disappeared, replaced with a piercing glare, as she ordered.

" Bring her in".

' Her, whom? Obviously can't be Vespera?'. I wondered, millions of thoughts running through my head at the moment.
