My jaw clenched as her brow rose as if she said those lines like nothing.

“Kill who?” Her eyes moved behind me. I scoffed in disbelief. “Seriously, Cleo? You're going to kill your sister?”

She shrugged nonchalantly, which made my blood boil. My hand curled around the pen as I endured the pain in my back.

I signed the papers without much thought, but I made sure she still wouldn't get anything she wanted.

It's not like I'm scared of her and threatening us to kill Jessica, but I just want to go back to my family. I'm afraid that Paul might pull the trigger without giving too much thought. He's become more cold and cruel than before.

The company and all the assets of the Cortez that were named to me now belong to hers… or that is what she thought.

After signing all the documents, I threw the pen to her. “Happy? Now let us go.”

She kicked the pen at the corner with a smug face.

“I didn't say I would let you go.”

I wanted to strangle her, but Paul's
