Chapter 63

In the morning, the sun poured through the window and shone into her eyes. Alexandra woke up on the hospital bed and wished all that happened to her was just a dream. She pinched herself and realized she wasn’t dreaming. She started to cry again and a nurse walked to her bedside to console her.

“Madam, you are one month pregnant and your fetuses are under so much pressure. You need to take care of yourself so you and your babies can be healthy. The mental health and emotional support team then came to attend to her and she felt better after their encouragement although she didn’t tell them what she was going through.

She was given a good breakfast and she ate to her full. At mid-day, she was discharged and she felt like requesting that they allow her to spend a few more days as there was nowhere for her to go but they needed the bed space for other patients since she had been stabilized.

Alexandra looked up and down, back and forth, and wondered why life dealt this big blow to her. Sh
