4. Meeting the weird guy

      Saphira's POV 

We finally got to the sea shore..

I felt relaxed as the gentle breeze caressed my face.

The blue sea and its wave was a good sight to behold.

Kizito had gone to get us some ice cream..

I was still admiring the sea when I noticed that someone was calling for help.

I moved closer to the sea and noticed that it was a young guy.

He was drowning! 

What should I do now? I have to save him..

Since I was a good swimmer,I dived into the sea and swam towards him..

I laid hold of him and struggled to bring him to the shore..

"Hey! Wake up" I said,shaking him vigorously as soon as I laid him down on the shore.  But he didn't bulge.

I checked his heart beat.

 He is still breathing. Thank goodness!

But why is he not opening his eyes?

I looked closely at his face. He had a pink lips, a curly eye brows and a baby face. 

So cute! 

"What's wrong with you Saphira? Get a hold on yourself".. 

I snapped out of my thoughts.

Why isn't he waking up?

Maybe I should give him mouth to mouth ventilation.

I brought my lip closer to his. But then, he suddenly opened his eyes and I flinched back.

"Hey! What the heck do you think you're doing" he furrowed his brows.

"Huh? I..was..uhm"i stuttered.

"I can't believe this! I know I'm cute but that doesn't mean you should kiss me" He sneered,standing up.

"Excuse me! Don't think so highly of yourself. I was only trying to save you.." I rolled my eyes.

"With your lips right? Oh! I forgot, You deserve a kiss for saving me..Come closer, no one is looking" he butted in while smiling mischievously..

I scoffed. " Maybe I shouldn't have saved an asshole like you" 

"Why are you being shy? I mean no one is looking. Okay, I will close my eyes" he grins cheekily and winked at me..

I almost threw up.

He closed his eyes and brought forth his lip.

"You're a sick, sick man" I growled and gave him a hard kick before running away..

I ran towards our car and luckily I saw kizito..

"Let's go home" I said, slipping into the car.

"But why? I thought you were having fun?" Kizito inquired in confusion.

"Yeah I was..but..."

"Are you okay?" He cuts in.

"I'm fine.. Can we just go home?" 

"Okay! I really don't understand you" he muttered. He ignited the car and drove off.

Today is Saturday..

I and mirabel usually go for shopping every saturday and today is not an exception..

I took my bath,put on my dress and wore a light make up..

"Mum I'm off" I called out,heading downstairs..

"Where are you off to?" Mum asked curiously.

"I'm going for shopping of course,today is saturday"

"I'm ready Saphira! Can we go now?" Mirabel called out as she sauntered downstairs..

"Your father has really spoilt you guys. ust you go shopping every Saturday?" Mum whined.

"Come on mum! We're not old fashioned like you" Mirabel teased..

"Can you see this jun pyo? Your children are calling me old fashioned"

"Honey why are you getting yourself all worked up? they're my daughters so they can spend my money all they want" Dad said.

"Aww! You're the best dad ever" I said and gave dad a peck.

"I can't believe this! My daughters has stolen my husband away from me"

"Eww! What are we gonna do with your old husband?" Mirabel scoffed and we all burst out laughing..

"What? What did you say? Come here I'll teach the both of you a lesson" mum said,running towards us..

"Run Mirabel! Run!" I dragged her by her hand as we both ran out of the house,laughing out our ribs.

We slipped into the car and our driver drove us down to the mall. We did a lot of shopping.

My father is filthy rich, so we are allowed to spend as much as we want.

We bought a lot of girly stuffs like bags,shoes,dresses,eye glass, e.t.c..

"Enough of the shopping,I'm tired already" I complained..

"But I'm not tired" Mirabel whined.   "I like that shoe over there,I'll go get it" Mirabel said and ran off.  I laughed shaking my head.

Mirabel is a fashion freak, She is crazy about shopping. If I don't stop her we might end up sleeping in this mall.

I turned to run to her but I bumped into someone.

I tripped but a hand caught me..

I raised my head and my eyes came in contact with him.

The annoying guy I saved at the sea shore!

"You!" I exclaimed in disbelief and he let me go immediately. 

Why did I have to meet this jerk today?

Since the day I saved him, I prayed never to set my eyes on him again..

But what's he doing here?

"Don't you have eyes? Or didn't your parents teach you how to walk properly?" I asked, curtly.

"Excuse me miss? You were the one that bumped into me." He hoarsed.

"And now he's blaming me! What are you even doing here? Are you stalking me?" I furrowed my brow. 

"Why would I do that? I only came here to pick up some stuff" 

"I don't trust you at all..people like you are capable of doing anything" I rolled my eyes..

"Can we stop arguing already. I'm tired of arguing with you"He said, softly.

"I'm also tired of speaking with someone like you" I rudely replied,walking off.

"I'm sorry" he suddenly said, making me stop..

I turned back.

"What did you say?" 

"I said I'm sorry" He repeated. "I  don't want us to keep on quarreling,can we be friends?"

I could sense sincerity in his voice..

Maybe he is not bad after all..

"Okay I forgive you" I hugged out a laugh.

"Thanks.I'm Jeffrey and you?" He asked with his hand stretched out.

"Saphira..I'm Saphira" I replied with a handshake..

"Okay. I think I have to leave now,see you later" he said and walked off before I could say anything..

" He is really cute" I thought.

"Hey! Who was that?" Mirabel suddenly said and flinched back.

"Omg! You startled me" I let out a deep breath. 

"I'm sorry..I saw you guys discussing,so I didn't want to interrupt..who is he?" Mirabel inquired..

"He is just a friend" 

"A friend?" 

"Yes! Is there something wrong?" I asked confused at her reaction..

"Uhm..I don't know..there's something strange about him" she replied..

"And when did you become a seer? Stop overreacting,we're just friends" 

"But..

"I'm tired already,can we just go home?" I cut her off.

"As you wish.."
