Mom drove me home and surprisingly, I wasn't expecting to meet my dad because he's a busy person, but there he was sitting on the couch watching whatever that pleased him.
“You never told me I was going to meet dad,” I whispered to my mom.
“I know” She laughed.
“ It was a surprise. He has plenty of things to say to you” My mom added.
My dad's face beamed with a small smile when he saw me. My dad hasn't changed much, just the little wrinkles on his face here and there and the gray hair.
I dropped the luggage right there and breathed a sigh of relief. My mom quickly summoned one of the maids to help drag the luggage to my old room. I haven't been in this house in the past two years plus.
“Heyy” I said coldly as I took a seat.
“Welcome home, my pixie, "My dad with a grin.
“Don't call me that. I'm twenty-five now!” I frowned, feeling disgusted already. The name pixie originally generated from Tinkerbell. It was my favorite show while growing up, so my dad used to watch it with me. At first, it started off as Pixie Aria, then finally My pixie. My dad raised his hands in surrender, then I got up, excused myself and went into my room.
I breathed in and out when I landed on the bed. They were little cobwebs hanging on the wall, the room looked untouched ever since I left. I looked around the room, there was a wallpaper of Sia hanging there. I smiled as I recalled when I used to be crazy over her, but now I don't even listen to music no more. I still haven't forgiven my dad, and his presence alone irritates me. On the other hand, I was worried about Chris. I was missing him already, I miss the way he kisses made me feel, I miss being cared about, but also, I can't be over the fact that he cheated on me. I couldn't get myself to even rewatch the video afterward.
My door creaked open, bringing me to reality. It was one of the maids. She's worked with us since I was a kid, she represented the big sister image that I never had.
“What the hell? Are you crying?” She said, concerned as she sat beside me.
“Am I?” I asked as I cleaned my eyes with the back of my palms. I didn't even realize I was shading tears.
“ I heard about everything and I know it must be hard for you. You're so strong, I hope you heal” I nodded slowly, blinking my eyes to prevent the tears that were already falling.
“Thank you” I muttered as I blinked again.
“I've always hated that man, erhm..” She tapped me, she was trying to recall his name.
“Chris” I responded.
“Yes, Chris. He's too full of himself. This is why I don't even do pretty boys” Anna said, making a disgusted face. I didn't say a word. I just smiled weakly.
“I really missed you, you know that” I said with a wide arms, she coiled into it.
“Mee too. This house hasn't been the same since you left” Anna whispered as she gripped me tighter.
Together, we cleaned the room. I stumbled across a high school journal, each page I flipped irked me, I couldn't believe I literally wrote those. In the pages I wrote about my crushes, my mean teachers, my school bully and some random things.
“You know, I heard Chris moved out. He's putting the house up for sale” My mom said during dinner.
“Ohh” my dad responded. I felt the huge to call him right away or at least check up on him. I just needed to hear his voice presently.
“Aria” My dad called my name.
“Yeah?” I responded by looking at my meal.
“Can you ever forgive your old man? I'm sorry for putting you through all this stress” He got a glass of water and gulped everything down.
“Please?” My mom added. I sighed.
“Okay, daddy. I forgive you. I mean, what can I do? You're still my dad” I replied as my mom's face replaced with a broad smile.
“I love you, Pixie” My dad hasn't gotten over that name.
“You know what, mom?” I said, playing with my fork and trying to think at the same time.
“Yes, honey” My mom responded.
“I'm cancelling the flight. I've thought about it for some hours now, and I'm calling it off” I spoke calmly as I lifted my face finally, then I turned to my dad and informed me I'll be willing to join his company.
“By the way, your secretary's office is still and always available” He grinned happily
I shook my head and laughed.
“I'll give the order to set everything for you” I nodded in approval.
I went to bed feeling tired as hell. Tomorrow was a big day for me and I needed to be prepared both mentally and physically. My thoughts drifted back to Chris. I wondered if he was doing okay without me, or maybe he's doing just fine, or perhaps he is still with that Jessica girl.
I woke up the next day feeling energetic as I could be. My dad had already left home alongside my mom.
I arrived at my dad's company an hour thirty minutes after. My dad introduced to his workers. I already knew a few of them because I used to visit at that time, and then I was shown my office.
After work, I called Anna to know if she was busy and luckily for me, she wasn't. She stood aside the road waiting for me, then I drove us to get a drink or two.
“I miss this” Anna chuckled as she sipped from her glass.
“Mee too” I laughed.
“Remember when we got so drunk years ago that I was too tipsy that you dragged my ass back home!” The music was too loud that we were literally screaming.
“Yessss. You actually threw up on me, but it was memorial, I had to clean us up and the next day, you swore that never happened” I said, bursting into laughter. She joined me. I was having a great time already, I have never had this much fun in a long while.
“Cheers to single life” Anna lifted her glass for a toast, then I lifted mine too as we toasted.
My eyes travelled around the party and finally rested on this one man who was staring deeply at me. I whispered to Anna about the man, and then she suggested we go to him. I declined to go with her, but she dragged me.
“Heyyyy” She greeted. She was already tipsy.
“I'm sorry, my friend's drunk!” I laughed awkwardly as I tried to get Anna back on her feet.
“It's okay” he laughed.
“I've been noticing you since you came to the club” He said, smiling, then he proceeded to help Anna to a nearby seat.
“By the way, I'm Jerome” he stroked out his hand for a handshake as I shook them.
“Jerome Mark?” I asked, staring at him. He looked familiar, really familiar.
“Yes, and you are?” He asked curiously.
“Aria. You remember Aria from high school?” I asked as I stroked a few strands of my hair behind my ear.
“Oh yes. Aria! Oh my goodness!” He said.
Jerome hasn't changed much since high school, he was my very good friend back in school.
“Where have you been? After high school, you just disappeared like that. I reached out to your mom a year ago, and she told me you got married” He got a seat for the both of us.
“ It was an arranged marriage, but now I'm divorced” I smiled weakly.
We gisted a lot as we tried to catch up, then we exchanged contacts. It was getting late, we promised to check up on each other then he helped me get Anna into the car as I drove off.
I got Anna to her room and sneaked upstairs. I laid on my bed, contemplating if I should reach out to Chris or just forget about it. I stretched my hand as I got my phone, then I called Chris's number. It was switched off. I was confused too, as if he actually moved on or the phone was just low. The next morning, I called him again, but it was switched off still then later at the office, I called him again, but it was still switched then it dawned to me that he probably moved on with his life.
WRITER'S POINT OF VIEWIt was a stressful week for Chris, having to move on from Aria, selling off his house, resigning from his job as he moved out to another city completely. Sometimes not everything was meant to work out, and the same applied to his marriage to Aria. Chris leaned on his back trying to apply for work online, but it wasn't fruitful. His phone rang as I glimpsed at the screen. It was an unknown number.“Hello, Chris” a female's voice greeted.“Hello” he responded, trying to figure out who was on the call with him.“Why ain't you taking my calls or texts? The security man wouldn't even let me in” At this point he realized it was Jessica. “Doesn't she get tired after ruining my marriage and sending those videos clips to Aria after setting me up?” He thought angrily.“I warned you never to call me again, and by the way, how did you get my contact?” Chris questioned as she laughed mischievously.“I always have my ways, Chris. You've forgotten” She finally responded. “
Before Aria's parents got there, she was already rushed to the intensive care unit because she was badly injured.“Are you the victim's parents?” The doctor asked, as Aria's mom nodded, she was panting heavily. Her dad tried as much to be calm, but he was also scared for his daughter's life. She needed an emergency brain surgery because she had intense brain injury, so her parents gave the go ahead.“Will she wake up afterward?” Her mom asked slowly. The doctor looked down and back at her.“ I can't guarantee that, ma'am. This is a 50/50 thing but even if she does make it alive, she'll experience memory loss but all the same, let's pray for her” And with that, he walked away. “I don't know what I'd do if we ever loose Aria” Her mom muttered as she collapsed her head on her husband's shoulder.“She'll be fine. Right now, she needs us to be strong for her, okay?” Aria's dad, Patrick, assured his wife, rubbing her back softly.*************CHRISTOPHER'S POINT OF VIEWThe wedding went a
Jessica's' POVI kept on trying my husband's phone number, but he wasn't picking his calls. I was beginning to get worried because he's never stayed this late without returning home. “I'm sorry for keeping you worried. I just had a busy schedule at work today” that was his response as soon as the home.Furthermore, I noticed he wasn't looking like his normal self, he wouldn't even look at me.“What's wrong, baby?” I questioned softly. He stared at me for a long time like he was trying to think, then he fell back on the bed staring blankly at the ceiling.“You remember this morning when you caught me staring at my phone, and you asked me what's wrong?” I nodded curiously. “It was about Aria. She was involved in a ghastly car accident, and she's been hospitalized for days now…" My face beamed with a smirk. Now, things were falling in place, and everything was working in my favor. This is a sign that Chris and I belonged together. Hopefully, she doesn't make it alive. Why couldn't sh
It's been a year since all these dramas. Aria still hasn't opened her eyes since she was laid in the intense care unit. Her parents would randomly visit her, or occasionally so would Chris.“At this point, I don't know if your daughter would ever wake up. Why don't you put her to rest?” The doctor suggested one day when Mr. Patrick came over to the hospital.“I don't know about this, doc, I still hope and believe she'll one day wake up” Mr. Patrick responded as the doctor nodded.“Just think about it” And with that, he walked away.“Wait what? You can't put her to rest. She's not dead yet, she's still breathing, she's still fighting, can't you see?” That was Chris's response when Aria's dad broke the news to him.“I think she's fought enough. She needs to rest now” Mr. Patrick responded. There was silence.Christopher arrived from work, but his wife wasn't home, the babysitter was trying to put his daughter to sleep. “I'll be leaving now, sir” The babysitter had said just right after
“Too much sugar!” Chris slammed his hand on the table. I rolled my eyes. Every morning in this house is war.“You know what, Chris?” I raised a brow.“I am so sick and tired of your bullshit” I was furious already.“ You always have in mind to ruin my morning. I hate you for this” I continued.“I made your tea with the exact measurements you instructed me to. You always have something to complain about” I quickly added. He stood up while gritting his teeth.“How dare you talk back at me, Aria?!” He foamed angrily. I wasn't moved at all.I took another gulp of my tea and continued. “ You know what? I just want a divorce. Furthermore, I am so tired of you and your stupid ass complaints. Using me every night like I'm some sort of your sex slave, hurting me both emotionally and physically…” I looked at him dead in the eyes. He smirked.“Lucky for you, my lawyer is working on our divorce paper” he replied and for the first time in a while, I genuinely smiled. I blamed my dad for putting m
I finally got discharged from the hospital a week later. All those seven days at the hospital, Chris tried contacting us, but my mom didn't respond to any of his calls. He even sent a text message begging mom to at least give him the location I was being taken to. The nerves! Why does he even want the location, or does he want to finish off what he started? I mean, this man almost sent me to my early grave. “Are you sure you don't want me to take you in or at least talk sense into him?” My mom said when she got to our gate.“Mom… don't worry. I'll be fine, okay?” I assured her as I stepped down from the car.“Okay, be good. Don't forget to contact me in case anything happens again” my mom said. She looked worried. “Mom… ““I'm sorry, I'm just worried, sweetheart. I love you." My mom chuckled. I smiled. “Bye, I love you mom” with that I went into the compound. I waited until she drove off before I continued walking.I took a long breath before opening the door. Chris was home. He d

I yawned as I stretched. Chris was still laying there. I resisted the urge to wake him up to prepare for work. I got up to wash my face, but by the time I was back, he was already up.“Don't you have work today?” I asked. “Nope… Today's my day off” he muttered, rubbing his eyes with the back of his palms.I sat at the edge of the bed, tying my hair into a ponytail.“Anywayyyy, we should have a couple's day. We've never had one” Chris said. I raised a brow.“Whatever it is you're trying to do, it's not gonna work!” I said. He looked rather concerned.“Okay” I muttered. The rest of the ride home continued in complete silence. By the time we got home, I was exhausted. He made us bath together, and then we got in bed.“I want to eat you out, tonight, "he said with a small smirk. “You seem a bit tired. Leave it to me” he crawled over to me. I smiled. Maybe I could really use this right now. He spread out my laps. I helped pull down my panties. The pleasure was immersed. This was the first time my husband really made me feel this good. WRITER'S POINT OF VIEW As soon as work was over, Chris got to his car. Normally, when Lucas was still alive, he would drive Lucas home every day to a point he made it routine. Now, staring at the empty seat, it just brought back plenty of memories. Jessica walked down to Chris full of smiles. “Not again” He mumbled under his breath. “What do you want, Jessie?” He asked as she stood there with folded arms. “We need to talk, Christopher” she replied with a pout. “In somewhere quiet. I know an exact spot” Jessica quickly added. “You don't ever quit, do you?” He frowned. “Just this last time and I'd never bother you again, I promise” She said. The club was pretty lousy and crazy. Everyone were dancing and having a good time. “This is my favorite place to hang out whenever I feel blue or lonely” Jessica said after they grabbed a chair. “So why are we here? What is it that was so important that we needed to talk about?” Chris asked, ignoring all what she had said while he wat
Chris phone rang. It was four in the freaking morning. Who on earth calls someone at this time?“Chris… Your phone” I mumbled with closed eyes. He picked up the phone, there were already people wailing in the background.“Could it have had anything to do with Lucas?” I thought.“Lucas is gone…” Chris's voice trailed off.“What? How come?” I was confused. How can Lucas, someone I met full of energy days ago, just die like that?“He tried to commit suicide. He was suffering from depression. He took pills, but they were able to rush him to the hospital. Sadly, he couldn't make it"I closed my eyes, digesting all what Chris had said. I know I had just met him just once, but he was a really sweet and funny guy. Occasionally, we don't even know what people are battling with until we have a deep conversation with them.“Chris… I'm sorry.
