“We can't wait any longer here! Tyndale might have already recovered and it will only be a matter of time before he catches on to us. We need to start moving right away!”

They seemed to have similar sentiments. None differed with that decision. Although many of them knew they had left behind friends and family, it was hard for anyone to go back inside through the gates and look for them. It would be suicidal. Lora and Deryleen were nowhere to be seen. Thomas knew they were gravely injured but a malefic piece of his conscience was telling him not to pursue any intentions of locating them, despite knowing how wounded they were. He was still in resentment, recalling the past five years, how they were mistreated. Even after helping them plot their escape he still felt bitterness towards the siblings.

“Okay let's move. The rain will help cover our tracks so we better make hast and utilize it.”. So began their exodus, a muddy, cold, and wet journey across the woods, a plight for freedom and safety. Though they were thrilled to be free nobody bothered to ask about the cost of their freedom. The mysterious savior who called himself Anato Strider could not have just decided to wake up one day and free them. They lived long enough to know that everything comes at a price, so what was the price tagged in their freedom? One would have to wonder what lay ahead, hopefully, it would be greener pastures.

Lora and Jrue were lost in the woodlands, limping through puddles of mud, occasionally stumbling to the ground and taking forever to get back to their feet. Their bodies had been broken, Lora’s left shoulder was heavily swollen and her ribs made breathing one painful task. On the other hand, Jrue's leg was also not looking as good as her sister’s. He broke his fall with his lower body and twisted his right knee, the rips on their faces dripped blood that was washed away by the falling rain. They searched the woods, finding no traces of the escapees, it did not take them a while to realize they had been left behind.

“I should go help them,” Daito said.

“No. Not yet. If Lora sees you now it might ruin the entire plan. I shall go down there and assist them instead. You begin following the escapees. I shall meet up with you and slow down Tyndale’s army in the process.”

Arni said. He began his ascent, parting ways with his brother who set a course ahead, following the wandering group. Temperatures quickly dropped with each splash of a droplet, there was no ceiling to shelter the two siblings. The arctic winds blew into their soaked clothes, numbing pain from the inflammations on their skins. The god approached the two carefully. The cold seemed not to bother him at all.

Arni had no specific reason for joining the charade. He was an immortal celestial being, of course, the one who created all of nature. So why was he running around playing with the rest of The Tomasa children? A definite answer could not be derived, the only sensible conclusion would be that he was seeking amusement, nothing more. Or maybe there was a bigger picture to it. Somehow the Tomasa children’s plans were to free the god of destruction, Tomasa himself. Perhaps he wanted to see how far they would go before Arekin intervened, or any other god for that matter. Since both he and Tomasa had been banished from the heavens he wanted to have a taste of revenge, release his brother, and watch him cause chaos. Ultimately, a genuine answer could only be gotten from him, but since his alignment with the heads, he had not spoken of his intentions since.

ROYAL REPUBLIC

“So… they all escaped?”

“No your majesty, we captured a few of them and they are tied at the town square sir, the soldiers are ready for your orders sir. They are all set to be executed!”

“… and who made the orders for them to be executed?”

The room fell into total silence. Tyndale walked past the soldiers who were aligned at the entrance of the monstrous building. Each step Tyndale took drove fear into their hearts, knowing very well he might snap at one point and end their meaningless lives. Oddly enough he changed the topic.

“Where are the rest of the slaves going?”

“We saw them going East sire. We believe they might be heading to Defectors State.”

“… Ready the army. We move at dawn!”

they stomped in unison. Every one of them wanted to get out of that vicinity as fast as they could, they knew of their master’s volatile state of mind and he might decide to kill them all at a moment's notice. Especially since the turn of events was not quite idyllic at the moment. They rushed out of view, taking time to breathe away their relief once they were out of harms’ way.

Beside the tyrant knelt the saints, bowing their heads in shame.

“We apologize for our incompetence sire. We promise we will hunt them down and capture them…”

“How many souls did I give you?”

“… 99 souls master.”

“And how many did you use to rig the explosion and destroy the castle?”

“30… master”

“… and you kneel before me, telling me thirty souls were not enough to kill two swordsmen and one measly earth magician?!”

The saints could not gather a response.

“You have wasted thirty souls from my legion. That is a mistake you can not apologize for. It is a mistake you must pay for!”

As Tyndale was thinking of ways to punish his understudies a sudden thought hit him from nowhere.

“Albert, did he escape with the rest of the slaves?”

“No sir… after he disappeared three days ago we haven't been able to locate his whereabouts, or where he went.”

“So he was not part of the coupe. He did not know of the plans.”

The saints were confused. How was a mere slave to fit into all the commotion?

“I shall issue your punishment afterward. For now, your only task is to locate Albert and bring him to me!”

The saints we excused. With little to work with, they did not even know where their search would begin. Albert had vanished from existence merely days before the invasion. They had no clue where he went to.

Little did they know the mouse had burrowed its way into the forest, guided by the heads. He was well on his way towards District Dark. The cost of his freedom was his right arm, severed by Jrue. While the slaves took residence inside Royal Republic all they thought of was how the lives of the rest of the people that escaped with Alicia were. They were probably better off than them. This would soon cause a rift between the group that had escaped.

As they traversed the forest, some of the escapees began preaching a new gospel. They demanded the route be changed, that they should go to District Dark instead of Defectors State. They wanted to join their brethren there. Thomas tried hard to convince them otherwise, that their savior had better plans in store for them, that they should blindly follow Anato and see what their faith would reward them with.

It was a tough crowd to unite. Others had already set their minds to it. Not knowing of the vurhanil barrier that awaited them. A third of the group parted ways with the rest and changed their course. The rest went onwards. It seemed that Albert was a part of the Heads’ scheme. No vurhan was to attack him in the woods as he made his way towards District Dark. The same couldn’t be said for the rebellious group that split from the rest of the slaves. They were walking into their deaths and they did not even know it.

In District Dark, however, Alicia was ready to leave, accompanying Armani back to the Forgotten Temples. She wanted to learn the secrets of the spiritual dimension, information that might help her with her undying quest for revenge. The camp was left in the hands of her fellow State Guards. They were to oversee everything in her absence. It seemed like everything was sequentially falling into place. Setting up a bigger event, bigger than the invasion. It was only a matter of time before it arrived, and it would take everyone by surprise!

A story was once told of a man who beat the Nephilims of the North. It was quite a famous story amongst the knight guards and state guards. It was back in the days when Slejj and Alvatrone were second rank lieutenants, battling for each other to see who would become the next commander of the Independent States. King Higo, the current king at that time, alongside his fellow ruler Hashi had arranged for a ceremonial tournament. A competition to see who was worthy to vie for the role of the next Commander. At that time it was obvious who amongst the army would reach the final showdown, it was always Alvatrone and Slejj. Everybody knew that. Going into the competition those who registered only did so to fill in the vacancies in order for the tournament to proceed, meanwhile the entire army awaited for the final showdown. The two rivals had been going at each other ever since they joined the army. At that moment they were seen as equals, and the tournament was to be the deciding factor,

The guards turned their attention towards him.“Get back to your cell! Right now!”Garvin ignored the orders backed at him. A travesty. He folded the sleeves of his over-sized garment and began hopping around on his toes like a rabbit, loosening up his stiff limbs, as his feet landed on the ground they kicked dust into the air.“Get back to your cell now prisoner or you die!”Garvin kept ignoring them like they weren't even there. The front line was forced to engage. Two of the guards pulled out lances and advanced aggressively towards him.“It’s been a while since I let loose, now come at me with all you've got… and don’t hold back, because I won't!”He leaped into the air with tremendous ability, concocting his body in ways not thought to be possible, producing a powerful roundhouse kick that ripped the spear tips of the lances away. His feet kissed the ground gracefully and he pushed himself forward, barreling towards the two disarmed guards. Fingers sunk deep into their throats an

“He is active again! He is out there roaming our inter-realm link, or as the mortals call it, the Independent States.”“But of course he can only manifest his physical form inside the barrier, the celestial walls allow him to do so, outside the inter-realm link he cannot manifest. Therefore his power remains limited to his followers inside the walls.”“Yes of course, with the reduction of his followers his power has substantially reduced, therefore he does not have the power of creation now, so he is no threat. Let us allow him to continue roaming the inter-link realm, it is the least we can do to entertain a traitor like him.”The rest of the beings nodded in agreement. A regular meeting had been arranged. The greater council of heaven was called upon to discuss issues largely affecting the events of one of the realms. Heaven realm was where celestial beings lived. There existed five realms in total; Heaven realm, Hell realm, Spiritual Realm, Null realm, and Earth realm. All the oth

Daito stood beside the administrative head like a scarecrow. The ladies shifted their focus and directed it towards him.“It is him! The village purger!”Grips on their weapons tightened. Stories of his purging had been circulating around the close circle of villages, merchants who were traveling through multiple villages brought stories along, stories of how a ruthless man was running amuck. They were ready for him, all they were awaiting were the go-ahead orders from their chief and they would let loose on those two intruders.Lady Melo finally appeared from amongst the crowd that was building up in front of the entrance. “Did you notice anything?”“… no.”“Why are you hesitating to answer me? Are you lying to me?”Alvatrone eyed him intensively. Could the slave emblem’s effects be wearing off? It was definitely one of the strongest and unbreakable spells, so there was no way he could be overcoming it. He decided to shrug it off and they advanced towards the next village. On arrival, they could hear the loud blaring of horns from within the village, moments after the musical display, several men sprinted into view from within the village, armed to the teeth.“It’s the village purger! We won't let you violate our village you insolent fools! Now leave before we make you!”Alvatrone looked down at them, disappointing by how willing they were to waste their lives trying to fight them off.“This again, can you please deal with them, and don’t make it too bloody this time!”Without looking at him, Daito nodded and took off his robe, allowing it to slide off his back and fall to the ground. They rushed into the palace, two awls trailing behind them, holding a huge wooden box. When they were climbing the flight of stairs, one of the awls relaxed his grasp on the case's side handle and it slid off, falling to the ground. The case's housing broke open and objects spewed out, including several scrolls, a large book with a lock restricting the pages, and a fairly long dagger. "Wait, I'm familiar with both the book and the sword. They are normally at my father's place. He's been devoting a lot of time lately to reading that book." "And what is the purpose of the blade?" "It's for, yeah, I read about it in my father's library a long time ago, it's used for the rite when when...no!" Daito's eyes abruptly opened as he realized what the intention of the visit could be. He made a hasty descent down the trunk, losing his balance and slipping off several times. Drom pursued him blindly. "Hey! Dai, what is it tell me!" "Come on Drom! We have to hurry before it's too late." They

As she tried to straighten to her feet another powerful blow landed across her frame, knocking the air out of her lungs, sending her spinning and spiraling across the floor. She collided with the wall, breaking her momentum. Jrue swung his twin blades with malicious intent. Though it wasn’t him succumbing to all those terrifying blows they were so brutal that he felt the impact of his raw strength. Before his blades could gain momentum he was rudely picked off the ground with an inhumane tackle. He was driven to the wall, the impact so violent it pushed the bricks out of position. Once he was pinned to the wall a flurry of punches started coming his way. The iron-like knuckles dug into his face, he felt like a hammer pounding his cheeks. His mouth filled with blood. The relentless attacks were halted by a deafening sound of a metal bar striking Tyndale’s skull. It seemed to have less

All the soldiers guarding the house had evacuated, deployed to handle the uprising of the slaves in the mines, giving the two siblings all the time they needed to execute duties assigned to them by Anato Strider as part of their escape plan. He managed to reach the room where the fight had begun. He shook her sister to wake. “Lora, Lora! Wake up, it is done!” All Lora felt was an unrealistically powerful force driving her to the ground. On the second day of the third week of the sixth moon of the year, the commander of the independent states arrived at Defectors State headquarters, where honorary State guard, Lora Deryleen, provided information on the whereabouts of the fugitive, ex-commander, and traitor to the States, Slejj. In the evening, the commander gathered an army to go over to make a stand. "What are you babbling about, is it a fantasy scenario you've been dreaming about?" The kick was aimed at the shield. Tyndale pushed out the shield with his kick so violently that it broke the teeth submerged into the metal. As the shield rolled on the mud with the teeth sticking out of it, Jericho shrieked in pain. Daito finally came to, getting to his feet just in time before the blast shot the Vurhan's entire face off. He charged forward with a blast of his own. Tyndale reverted his attention towards him which left him exposed to the mercy of the beast. Another swipe of the claws ripped up a shred of his skin, allowing blood to run over his chest. His muscular arms pushed Daito back onto the ground once more. He kicked the vurhan and took out its left knee with a blast of energy, rendering it immobile, momentarily. As the vurhan stumbled to the ground he grabbed its arm and pulled it back up, directing its head towards his punch. The two targets collided, leaving a bloody green stain on the Vurhan's face as it slid across the mud. Tyndale felt a severe force pus

At one point he arced his head and caught sight of her, but ventured on with his slaughter as if she wasn't even there, as if he had no clue who she was. Reene and the others tapped them out of their stupor as they pulled out their swords. Alicia began galloping straight towards Drom, and Lora headed for Deryleen. Before they could both reach their intended targets the rest of the faction popped up under the teleportation circle and dropped to the arena, jumping straight into the action. Outside the castle, the intense battle raged on. The army of undead knights fought relentlessly like they had nothing to lose, mostly because they didn't. They overpowered the knights trying to secure the castle and fell to their blades, most of them cowardly retreating. The vurhans continued their orchestra, by then the whole city had awoken

You never did anything for anyone, only cared about yourself. Using others to get what you wanted... Using me to become the commander!" Slejj coughed up a couple of times before speaking. "What in the hell are you talking about?" "I do not need to explain myself to you! Have you ever heard of Enkai, the forest deity who supposedly guarded the gates against crossers? Protected the Independent States from the world outside, especially vurhans." Slejj stared back in discomfort as a response. "Well, do you remember the day we were on the battlefield, fighting off the hoards of vurhans? I was the one who called on to him. I corrupted him with the help of some new friends I made. Fear was creeping in and Jrue was re-evaluating his options. A retreat would seem reasonable at that point. Lora had been completely taken out of the equation. “Well! I am Waiting!” Tyndale barked, his voice full of excitement. Jrue charged towards him. He wasn’t that good of a fighter in tight spaces but give him an open field and he would perform his acrobatic stunts that surprisingly packed a punch. He sought to tilt the odds to his advantage by taking him to an open field, and there was only one way he saw how. Running full steam ahead he tackled Tyndale and they both burst through the window, shattering the glass and falling three from a height three stories high. There was no object below to cushion their landing, so they sprawled to the hard ground. Jrue landed on his chest, breaking a bone or two. Tyndale landed on the shards of glass. They dug into his back, yet he seemed not to feel irritated by the pain. Before he could get up Jrue rushed over to him and impaled his leg w
