7. Jealousy

Feruhan could do nothing if Myrene insisted. Whatever his views on the matter would be meaningless since the final decision was in the queen's hands. But he was really worried about the future of the Lycan nation if it came to war.

"Capture all humans in the border area. And do not allow any humans to enter vampire territory!" Myrene ordered.

The peace treaty was valid, but if one of them entered the border area of the other nation, they should be prepared to become food. This was often used by vampires to obtain human blood. They would lure humans close before eating them.

Myrene knew what she was doing. She would completely cut off the vampires' supply of delicious food. Now the nearby areas directly bordering the vampires were under her control, so she could do whatever she wanted.

Feruhan nodded. "As you wish, Your Majesty."

After that, Myrene discussed many things related to the effects of the war that had just happened and how long it would take to recover since they needed a lot of energy to fight.

The discussion lasted long enough for her to realize that it was already noon. Myrene immediately remembered her promise to Atlas. She ended the conversation with Feruhan and left the room.

Fyn and the bodyguards immediately followed her.

"Let's go to Atlas' room. Tell the kitchen to prepare my lunch there," Myrene ordered.

Fyn nodded. He had one of the guards send a message to the palace kitchen, and they continued on their way.

Myrene looked into the garden that led to Dexter's room. She saw a girl walking along the edge of the garden and entering the side door of the garden.

"Who is she?" asked Myrene. She wouldn't have been surprised if the girl was wearing a maid's outfit, but the girl looked like a country girl with her hair in a careless bun.

Fyn was silent for a moment before he cleared his throat uncomfortably. "She's a servant from the cleaning department, Ma'am."

"How do you know that?" asked Myrene again.

Fyn seemed to hesitate to answer. But then he said what was on his mind. "Several times Master Dexter has asked this girl to come to his room to clean his bed, ma'am."

"Why? And why isn't she in uniform? And again, aren't there servants to serve him?" asked Myrene in disbelief. Her mind was clearly on something serious.

Fyn felt confused. He didn't know what was going on, but there were rumors that Dexter was interested in the girl and occasionally called her over at night to keep him company. But he didn't know for sure, it was just a rumor, so he didn't dare speak carelessly.

"What's the girl's name?" asked Myrene.

Fyn bowed respectfully. "I will ask, ma'am."

Myrene shook her head. "There is no need. Bring her to my room after I have finished with Atlas."

Fyn nodded. "As you wish, ma'am."

Arriving in the room, Myrene was already greeted with enthusiasm. Atlas stood in the middle of the room with a smile on his face. The clothes he was wearing had been replaced by a neat white shirt.

"Welcome, my lady," Atlas greeted and kissed the back of Myrene's hand.

Myrene smiled and looked at the table in the middle of the room, filled with all sorts of games they used to play. Then she looked at Atlas, who had walked over to the sofa. But Myrene pulled on the man's hand to stop him.

"Not today, Atlas," Myrene refused, instead pulling Atlas onto the bed.

Atlas was a little surprised because Myrene usually didn't invite him directly to bed. Especially in the middle of the day. But he complied.

"I'm so tired and sleepy. I don't feel like playing," Myrene said.

Atlas was silent when he saw Myrene sitting on the edge of the bed. The room was filled with a mix of anticipation and tension as Myrene and Atlas exchanged glances. Myrene's actions hinted at a shift in their relationship, leaving Atlas both surprised and intrigued. As he gently assisted her with her tiara and robe, a sense of intimacy and vulnerability hung in the air.

"They will bring us food for lunch. Before they come, just sit next to me," Myrene said.

Atlas complied. But his face showed disappointment. He stared intently into Myrene's face. A smile was on his lips, but his eyes were bitter.

Myrene was exhausted. Surely the woman had spent the night having fun with Logan. While Myrene never got tired of spending time with him. What had they done to make Myrene sleepy during the day?

The thought annoyed Atlas' feelings. He had hated Logan since the first day the man arrived. Was there a way to get rid of him? Atlas's resentment towards Logan grew as he pondered ways to eliminate him from Myrene's life. The constant presence of another man threatened Atlas's position and fueled his jealousy. He knew that if he wanted to secure his place as Myrene's sole companion, he needed to devise a plan to remove Logan from the equation.

Atlas thought of something to embarrass Logan at the wedding tonight.
