I searched for Ken because I expected him to be around, but he was nowhere to be found. His level-headedness made me rate him above Chadwick.

He was the logical one and although he wasn't romantically interested in me, he cared so much about my interest that despite his absence from the party, he had figured that Dave was the fool who had attacked me.

Ken even called to apologize, something Chadwick would never do in a million years.

I repeatedly had thoughts on how different things would be if the moon goddess had given me Ken as my mate.

It would have been a dream come true, considering how perfect he was in looks and attitude. I struggled to find any flaws in him, unlike Chadwick, who had a surplus of them.

Chadwick was better looking to me because of our bond, but his assholishness made it difficult for me to look past his looks.

"Our mate is the best," my wolf grumbled within me. "He's even a philanthropist. Can you match his actions today?"
