Conversation with Ken turned non-existent. I was mad at him and didn't want to see him after the despicable act he committed. Unfortunately, someone had to represent Chadwick at his son's PTA meeting.

On Saturday morning, I went for a run and afterward, prepared to spend my morning at Elen’s school. Ken sent a message, pleading that I come to pick Elen up from the house because he was throwing a tantrum to go with me.

Without saying a word to Ken who stood beside Elen looking like a lost puppy drenched in rain, I grabbed Elen's hand, booked an Uber, and headed to his school.

The little boy bubbled with excitement and was proud to show me around his school. We got there quite early, and I headed to the designated area for sign-in and registration. I wrote down his name, Elen Greene, on the registration sheet.
