Kirsch's POV
As always, I went to check the patrols and directed them to clear a path for Taran to sneak out.
We couldn't be seen together, and I needed people to see me as much as I can before midnight came. Taran would go ahead to the beach and wait for me.
Though he denied that Willa was his mate, his action was speaking louder. They were basically together now, and I knew he never mess around, not even once.
But that wasn't why I was bothered.
I looked into his lousy excuse about how he killed Willa's parents five years ago at Scarlet Creek. I thought it would be an easy lie to expose as I looked into Willa's past.
The findings shocked me.
I expected that she wasn't at Jason's pack five years ago. Scarlett had told me that they moved around a few times. But when I started looking into it, I found that I couldn't quite pin down their route in their past.
They were like ghosts, flowing around packs with little traces
Which direction would you bet on? :)
Kirsch's Pov [Evening.] I froze in shock, staring at the silver beast who just mindlinked me. He never did that. He rarely accepted my mind links in the past, let alone initiating one! Even though I just watched Taran shift, I still doubt whether it was the true mad Alpha in front of me. [Shift!] Cerberus grunted when he glanced up as I stood there staring at him, naked. I felt such a huge force on my back, almost bringing me to my knees. If he was still my alpha, I would have been forced to shift right there. I shifted instantly. Reminding Cerberus that he didn't have the Alpha Aura over me wasn't the wisest thing to do, especially right before the new moon. Cerberus didn't like me, and I knew why. I thought it was because I was the one fighting him on the new moon nights, now I knew, it was because I marked Taran by mistake. [Where do you feel like running to tonight?] I bared my neck at Cerberus.
Kirsch's Pov [Where are you going?! This is the pack's direction!] I shouted at Cerberus as I ran along his side. [Close!] He growled, not even looking at me as he sped up right at the center of the town. [Cerberus, no! You can't be seen by the pack! They are already suspicious!] I shouted as I chased after him, [You always run AWAY from the pack, what's got into you?!] He didn't even bother to answer. The cliff by the coast ran down right to the east end of the forest, which was only a few miles away from the town. I have to stop him before he dashed into the town! I caught up to him barely when he was already halfway down the slope behind the cliff, and I jumped before I bit on his leg. Thank God I reached him. The momentum of his leg pulled my body to the front. I felt my teeth loosen up at the dragging force but I didn't let go. Cerberus roared in anger as he stomped on my chest before he jumped back
Willa's POV My subconsciousness came to the realization of sunshine before my mind did. When I opened my eyes, only a world of different shades of green was there, waiting for me. The golden sunshine flew among the tips of the grass, giving that verdancy a shred of soft gold as they curved casually... Like Al's hair. Every morning after the new moon, I felt I was born fresh again with butterflies fluttering in my heart trying to burst out. [One more new moon to go before you are finally free, little one.] Antonia's huge head bumped mine a little, reminding me that I was lying in the furry cove she made with her body. [Let's not talk about it yet and just focus on my survival for now!] I cheered, jumping up with full strength, [Aww! Everything is so pretty!] [We can go to the beach before I take you back to the Alpha's house.] Antonia stood up, shaking her body under the sun with dew coming off her fur. I hollered, mimic
Willa's POV "Good to have you here!" I never imagined I would say such a thing to James, but at least he was loyal to Kirsch. He could take Kirsch to a hospital. "What happened to the Alpha?!" James lunged toward us before he knelt beside Kirsch, shaking his body. Yeah, shaking a severely wounded man, that would help. "Stop it! He's badly injured! Are you crazy?!" I pushed James on the arm, but I had no strength left to really make a difference. "Did you do this?!" James suddenly took me by the wrist before he pulled me off the ground. "I'm wolfless! You moron!" I swung my arm, trying to get rid of him, "Why would I hurt him even if I could?!" "Maybe because you are the cursed wolf, and you hurt him last night when you went in rage." A cold sneer reached us. It was Natasha. She glanced at Kirsch before she fixed her eyes on me with fire burning in those cold eyes. Granny growled, pulling her lips back over her teeth as she step
Willa's POV They pulled me and granny off the ground, and James purposely pulled me by my broken arm. The searing pain radiated my shoulder made tears brim my eyes, but I didn't want to cry in front of them. I grabbed my own broken arm and pulled back, trying to get rid of James. He smirked evilly, playing the seesaw game with my arm. I bit my lips as I tried to ignore the pain, but it was like a vicious snake swimming into my brain. "Beg, you poisonous wild kitten." James sneered, rising my arm high into the air. Can I bite his head off instead? I didn't want to give in, but granny was poisoned with wolfsbane, and no one could help us. "I beg you, Beta, please let me go," I said in a low voice, baring my head. I had never bared my neck at anyone other than Alphas, and tears of humiliation burst out as my ears turned red. Although on the level of being a jerk, James COULD match with some of them. "I can't hear you, kitten." Jam
Willa's POV "She wouldn't kill us!... Why would she?" I muttered in shock. Why would she be so hell-bent on killing me? Sure, she hated me, but Jason was dealt with and I didn't do anything to Rachel. There wasn't even any reason for her to hate me! "Reasons or not, she hated us. If we stay, we will die." Granny sighed, still shivering from the wolfsbane. This was the first time I didn't want to leave a pack even when I had to. [Kirsch! Kirsch...] I tried to mind link Kirsch, hoping that maybe he could wake up. I knew it was a long shot. He was badly wounded. It was already a miracle that he didn't die. There was no way he could wake up any time soon. I couldn't mind link Al. "So, you want a prison break? Can we come back after?" I asked granny. It would be fine. We could come back after Kirsch wakes up. "We can, but...the teleport mark I set this time is very far away..." Granny sighed, looking at me with a sad look, "I set it
Willa's POV "Where are you taking us?" I took a step back to block the spell on the floor from Natasha. "No question, just come," Natasha said coldly, not looking at me. "I have the right to at least know that you are going to kill us! Why do you hate me so much to not even grant me my basic rights?!" I shouted at Natasha. I hated her, sure. But I didn't think I had irritated her enough to deserve death. "You, are, cursed! You would bring doom to the pack! Isn't that a good enough reason to wipe you from the face of the earth?!" Natasha stormed into the cell toward me. Granny stood up to meet her halfway, and I quickly stood in front of granny. Granny was in no shape to fight Natasha right now. "I'm not cursed! I was poisoned--" "Willa took wolfsbane by mistake last night. That was what you saw." Granny cut me off. We couldn't let them know we lied to them, not now. "Another far-fetched lie!" Natasha snorted coldly, "Of
Kirsch's POV When I opened my eyes, it took me a while to realize I was back in the Alpha's house. I hadn't been living here for a while. I was in Taran's room. Guess it was some pack member who took me back. They didn't even know I never slept in the master bedroom. It would always be Taran's. But it meant he wasn't back yet. I tried to move my body but everything hurt. I could barely look down at my own body, but I could feel it was wrapped in bandages. I let out a slight groan in pain as I closed my eyes and laid down again. It would still take days before I could fully recover, and that was actually a better result than I had expected. I really thought Crebreus would kill me. I could barely stand up in the end as I tried to stop him from dashing into the pack. I managed to force him to go through the woods as I mindlinked patrol and cleared a path so we wouldn't run into anyone. He was in a complete rage and
