Visions Or Hallucinations?

For a while there, I thought I was dreaming, but I was not. How possible could it be? I clearly saw the man in the pool filled with bloody earlier so why was it looking like nothing had happened there?

I had never been so confused in my entire life. Really?

Karima turned around swiftly to face me and immediately, I started panicking. "I swear Karima, I am sure of what I saw."

"Where is it now..Mira?" She asked but I had no reply to give her, no reasonable response.

"I am just as surprised. There was a man...here... literally...floating at the centre of this pool right here." I tried explaining even though I sounded crazy to myself, how would I convince her when I was also too confusion myself?

She sighed and then brought out her phone. "Leo, don't bother. There's nothing." I heard her say then she dropped the call.

I felt so bad that she probably felt I had alarmed them falsely.

"I am not lying, please. I am sure of what I saw." I persisted and then she released a soft, slight smile. "It's fine, Mira. Let's go."

"But--" I tried to speak but she interrupted me gently. "It's alright, I guess you need proper rest." She commented and then walked me out to the parking lot.

Leo also came out of the building just in time. "What happened?" He asked on getting to where we were.

"Never mind it. Can you take Mira back to her apartment on your way to town? She needs some rest." She said and he nodded.

Deep down, I was feeling bad and so confused. What happened? Was I hallucinating? No way! There was no way that was an hallucination, I was very sure of what I saw but now it seemed like I had just escaped from a psychiatric hospital.

As we drove in Leo's car, I was so lost in thoughts. I needed someone to explain to me what had happened back there? Like...

"How is it that you look just quite perfect bodily but your weight is way behind?" I heard Leo inquire. That was the least of my problems but I had no choice but to reply him because he was my boss.

"It just...happened." I replied reluctantly, hoping he would let me off after that.

 "I see." He muttered.

Thankfully, he did not any further question and by the time we got to the apartment complex, we got off together.

"You stay here?" I asked and he nodded. "Of course, I do."

"Then is this place meant for all Greenville's workers?"  I continued.

"You will find that out soon." He replied simply and we went out separate ways.

I headed to my apartment and I let off everything I had on the moment I got in.

I threw myself on the bed and closed my eyes for a minute, wondering what was happening to me.

I could not even get the picture of that bloody pool and the person in it out of my mind. It was so stuck in there that it would cross my mind every second.

I could not just think straight and properly.

"I need to distract myself." I decided before getting up and heading to the living room. I turned on the television, I had never done that since I started staying there.

Watching TVs was not even my thing, I preferred crocheting and reading books.

With the current situation I was in, I did not feel hungry at all, even though I was a few hours ago. I laid my back on the couch and kept my eyes fixed on the TV screen, hoping to stop myself from thinking about the incident.

Darkness covered my face all of a sudden, then I opened my eyes again and I found myself standing close to a clean lake. There were flower beds surrounding the lake and I smiled subconsciously at the sight.

All of a sudden, the lake turned red and every flower surrounding it withered all within a split second.

The sight was terrifying and so fear gripped my heart. I could also see a hand reaching out of the bloody water.

I staggered backwards, feeling so terrified.

My heart pounded heavily as I open my eyes to reality. I realized I was on my couch but damn, what I just saw felt so real. The heck!

I sighed heavily when I saw that I was only dreaming. When did I even doze off?

I sat up, running my fingers through my hair. I was beginning to get frustrated and the moment I got to the height of it, it would not longer be funny.

I headed to the kitchen to prepare myself a cup of coffee. I was not sure if I wanted to fall sleep again because it was slowly becoming a traumatic act for me.

Coffee was one of the things I knew how to do best, Madison had taught me specifically so I was very good with it. I prepared some fruit salad to eat.

Maybe hunger caused the whole thing?

I ate to my satisfaction and then headed in for a shower but returning to the living room again.

I decided to take a walk and the moment I got to the entrance of my apartment, I saw Karima approaching in a casual wear. I guess she was done at work because it was even evening already.

"Mira." She called when she got to me. I could neither smile nor frown because of what happened earlier so I just bowed my head gently to greet her.

"How are you this evening?" She asked and I sucked in my lips.

 "Very well."

Her gaze moved to my hand and she looked up at me again. "Going for a walk?"

I nodded and she smiled. "I was just coming to invite you to join me for a walk too, this makes us even." She exclaimed.

We ended up walking down the estate that evening, talking about random things and learning new things from her.
