Training Day 2

Training day two was soon here and like they said, it was not easy. It was more of a field training than a sit-listen lecture.

We were firstly instructed to change into a fit gym wear instead of our uniforms, then we all hand weight scale.

Most people were over the average and it took this new set of instructors nothing to make them lose proper weight within a few hours.

Leo was one of them too and he had me specifically weighed by him. It turned out to be that I was about 3kg close to average.

He raised his hand with his arms folded against his chest, looking confused.

"You don't eat beef? Chicken?" He raised his brows. For someone who spent over four months in prison, eating just vegetables, beans and water, how else could I have grown past the average weight?

I only smiled gently at his question, I did not think I was meant to answer that.

While others exercised under the hot sun, I remained sitting, drinking water from a Stanley cup. At some point, I was instructed to join the twenty-nine others to run around the field.

After about three hours of the field training, we rounded up. I was pretty glad I would be returning to the apartment quite early because I was finding solace in the space, only for Leo to inform me that we still had another session to run.

Even though I had not done strenuous activities like the others, I did not feel too good about it. We went ahead to get cold showers and then changed into our appropriate uniforms.

We were all assembled back at the field area when we were done. Leo was now taking this session solely.

 "Good afternoon potential Lobby agents!"

"Good afternoon, sir!"

"This session is a brief but very pivotal session. Your performance here determines if your VVIP guest is staying or not." He continued and I paid attention keenly, while some others yawned tiredly and just could not wait to end the training for that day.

"It's the first stage in lobbying, the welcoming stage." He paused and his gaze moved around before he continued.

"Of course your VVIP guest will firstly arrive before you start lobbying majorly, but what you do at the first stage determines others."

"So, we will be having a practical session now and I would love you all to watch keenly." Just when he finished speaking, three cars drove into the field after the other. They stopped right in front of us, and then Leo picked five people out of we the trainees and made them stand behind him in an orderly manner.

He and the five walked in a straight line towards the door of the middle car and stopped. He then positioned the five in a strange, unique manner as one other guy opened the door.

"This is the typical way to welcome a guest." I heard Leo say into a megaphone because he was quite far away but we could see properly from where we were standing.

He repeated the action for many minutes and then the session was wrapped up.

I did not even meet up with Leo after the training, instead I headed out of the big field unto the resort premises.

As I walked alone, around the resort I suddenly perceived a strong smell of steel, and I guessed it was blood. I halted in my steps. Greenville was supposed to be perfect, right? Where was this coming from? And why were my senses so sharp all of a sudden?

I looked around cautiously for anyone but all my colleagues were heading in a different direction, so I decided to check where the smell came from. I started walking further, around the swimming pools area.

Karima had brought me here during the tour so I knew a bit of directions. That was where the Jacuzzis, and pools were, different from the beach. There was nobody there also.

Probably it was a dead animal? I guessed as I thought of retreating. Anything that would reduce my points, I did not want it.

As I was about to make the decision to turn around and leave, something caught my eye. The swimming pools I saw the day before were all blue in colour but I could see a red distant one.

My curiosity was piqued and I approached it, hastening my steps. Lo and behold, the pool was contaminated and the smell of blood became stronger. I gasped when I saw a being at the centre of the water, a man.

It seemed like he was badly injured and his blood had caused the pool's colour to change.

His eyes were not opened and it seemed like he was lifeless.

"Hello, can you hear me?" I raised my voices immediately, staying a few steps away from the pool. Of course, I was afraid.

There was no response from him. I moved a bit closer again. "Mister! Hello! Can you open your eyes?!" I shouted again and slowly, I saw his eyes open.

Those eyes were bloodshot, and green veins popped out on his forehead. I guess he was badly injured.

"Who are you and how are you here?"

He only stared at me and did not respond.

'Hopeless', I thought. Why was I even asking who he was?

"Could you please hang in there? I will go get people to rescue you. Just keep your head afloat, breathe in and out, you will be fine okay?" I assured him, feeling so concerned. Then I ran back to get some people to come for him.

I was hoping to see Leo because I guess I could relate more with him. Getting to the entrance of the resort, I saw both Leo and Karima at the designated parking lots, standing beside her car and talking.

Without a second thought, I ran over to where they were. I was panting heavily when I stopped.

 "Karima...blood."

"What are you saying, Mira? Calm down."

"Someone is...dying...in the pool." I managed to say and the looks on their face was priceless of course.

"Leo, get the medical team!" She said and then ran back with me to where I had seen the man.

To my utmost shock, none of the pools were red, and...there was no dying man!
