Restaurant And Tour

Leo led me to Karima's office and left after he had a short talk with her.

Her office was not something I had imagined; It was quite moderate but properly furnished and fit for her profession and rank.

She had me sit and then started engaging me. "How was the training today?"

"It went quite well, Ms. Karima." I replied to her and she smiled. "Call me, Karima, everyone does. By the way, most people complained so much about the lengthy lecture hours so I expected that from you too."

I clasped my hands together behind my back and sucked in my lips, not sure of how to reply to her. Then she smiled, as if she understood my plight. "It's alright by the way. I told Leo to bring you so you could have lunch here before you return to your apartment. I was wondering if you would not mind a brief tour in the resort too."

A tour? A high ranking lobby agent like her was offering me a tour? I could not help but question her niceness within me, she definitely had other things to do, but she wanted to eat with me and help with a tour.

"I can just...have lunch when I get home, as for the tour...I would not like to stress you. I'm sure you are very busy." I turned her down politely.

"I insist, Mira." She said firmly and I had no choice but to give in.

When we got to the ground floor, where one of the restaurants was, I found out even more that she was very well respected there because of the way other workers greeted her and treated her.

I noted it mentally to look more into her position in that resort because it seemed like she was more than a team leader.

As we walked into the restaurant, some other lady who was in the same uniform as Karima was also walking out, with some few people behind her.

As we walked closer, I could see the contemptuous look on her face and I could tell immediately that there was something with her and Karima.

"See who's here." She let out as we approached even further.

Karima just remained quiet as we got to where they were, the lady's shoulder and Karima's met and anyone could tell she did that on purpose.

Karima did not shake, she only halted her steps and then turned around to face her. She stopped too obviously, and I thought Karima was going to say something but she said nothing!

Woman only dusted her fabric around the shoulder like some disgusting stuff had just had contact with her, then she faced her initial direction and continued walking. I could not help but release a soft laugh at her legendary action and the look of defeat on that lady's face.

The scene was just so funny but I had to catch up with Karima. I was there, smiling like a fool.

"That was a cool one, Karima. Who is she?" I asked as soon as I caught up with her.

"Just ignore her. She wants to live but can't seem to get out of the swamp of just 'existence'. She is the team lead of L.A. 1, Lobby agent team 1. We are the team 2." She explained and that was just it.

I could already tell what issues the other lady had with Karima. It would definitely have to do with team and individual performances that gets Karima's team more favored.

We got into the grand restaurant and an attendant came over. What got me was their structure and the way they all looked. They looked so professional that you could hardy conclude they were waiters or waitresses without them coming to you for your orders.

Karima placed an order for lunch. "This is Greenville workers' restaurant." She said to me and I was wowed, thinking that was one of their main and even VIP restaurants.

This resort seemed so top-notch and it was no wonder how they were on the top of the list when it came to best-serving hotels and resorts for foreigners, top government officials and now even the citizens. I had no idea something like this existed in Beatle City, at all.

We got served and then we started eating. I had so many questions to ask her but I waited impatiently for us to finish eating.

The moment we were done, she asked me, "You got anything to say?"

I shook my head without even thinking when a lot filled my mind.

As she picked the serviette gently to clean her mouth, she further asked me, "How do you think we can improve the dish?"

I crinkled my brows. The dish? The one we just had? Improve?

"I am not sure I understand you, Karima."

She let out a chuckle. "One of the functions of a lobby agent is to observe where their organization is lacking and give solutions on how it could be improved."

A soft 'oh' escaped my lips. I was still in training anyways, why was she asking me such?

"Uhm...I don't think I have anything to say as regards to that. I am not in the right position to." I replied her politely and she smiled.

 "Okay!"

Karima was persistent on taking me around for a tour and we started it the moment we were done at the restaurant.

She showed me the delicate areas at the resorts, explained how things worked to me and the likes. Soon we got to the art gallery of the resort and as if she read my mind, she took me there even though we had no business there.

Without even realizing it, I admired the artworks in the big, spacious hall and smiling subconsciously.

Then I stumbled over a werewolf artwork. My heart got drawn to it naturally and I just stood there with her and stared continually.

"Do you believe werewolves exist?" I suddenly heard Karima ask. My heart skipped a beat when she did and I turned to her.

 "Why..do you ask?"

"Nothing, I was just curious. The look on your face is quite different from the one you had when you saw other artworks. You must like fiction." She pointed out and I smiled awkwardly.

 "Yes, I do."

I could not afford to be blown out like this. No. Never.
