The other guest was Harrison Louis, a government official, a VVIP guest too and from the discussions between others that I overheard, it turned out the guest were initially meant for team one, Maria's team. But they made a mistake during one of their services and the guest angrily requested for another team to serve him.
"I even heard Karima was not going to accept it." One of them chipped in.
"Of course, it's wrong for her to. It's more like handing over a leftover, but she had to take it just for the guest's sake." Another replied. As we headed to the man's room with three of my senior colleagues and Rowland, I remained quiet throughout. We got to the floor where the man's suite was, only to see so many guards there, securing. I wrinkled my brows, was this really necessary?
They had us all scanned with a machine before we were allowed in.I just watched calmly, to learn. I was the type that gained mastery just by observing, it was my wiring.
"The agents are here already, sir." One of the guys inside the suit said to his boss whom we could see sitting on a sofa from where we were standing. He did not move for a few seconds and kept his face buried in the newspapers he held, sipping ice tea from a bottle. Who still read those?
All of a sudden, he threw an unnecessary fit. "What? I thought I told you to tell these reporters and publishers to stop using this particular picture? It looks tacky. I even took another photoshoot for this!" He yelled and the guy bowed his head immediately."I am sorry, sir. It will be corrected right away." He assured and he calmed down, then he narrowed his gaze down to where all five of us were standing, our senior colleagues in front and me and Rowland at the back.
"Tell those people to come over here." We heard him instruct that guy. We headed down to the open living room where he was and stood a few meters away from him.
"You at the middle front, step forward, and aside." He ordered and the senior colleague standing right before me moved away, exposing me directly.
"You, step forward." It took me a second there to contemplate on whether he was referring to me or not, but it turned out his eyes were on me.Within further ado, I did as he instructed. His gaze was well fixated on me and that made me feel uncomfortable of course.
"The name?" He inquired. "Mira Silver, sir." I responded, wondering why he was asking for my name. I just hoped it was not what I was thinking. It would be really bad if he was a pervert."Hm... Mira, beautiful. The rest of you, leave, you stay Mira." He ordered and my eyes widened. I turned around swiftly to look at my seniors, there was no way they would leave me there with him right? But it looked like there was nothing they could do about it.
I could see the gawking look in Rowland's eyes but what could he do too? Nothing. They all bowed their heads again before walking out then I turned to Harrison Louis, waiting impatiently for him to make a funny request and see how I would smash his head into pieces.
"You look pretty, Mira, and you remind me of my daughter." He started and I just had to mutter under my breath, "I am not your daughter anyway."
"What? You said something?" "No sir, I did not." I replied and there was silence for a while. He relaxed his back against the sofa and crossed his legs, then he looked out of the open glass doors, staring at the ocean."Her name was Adelaide, but she's late now." He continued.
I was taken aback a bit, why was he telling me all that? He turned to face me again, "So, Mira, have your seat." He instructed. Reluctantly, I did sit opposite him."Tell me about yourself." He urged and my brain got shut out for a while. That was so random, why should I tell him about me? WHY? To think that this current person I was with was totally different from the one that just made a fuss a few minutes ago over some unnecessary picture in a published paper.
Immediately, some of the rules I had read in the lobby agent manual popped up in my mind and I got up.
I bowed my head, with my hand clasped together at the front. "I am sorry, Mr. Louis but I am not allowed to do that. I am here to strictly serve you to satisfaction and not chip in my personal stuff." I said with all politeness, that was the right thing to do."This is how you should serve me, young lady, have your seat." He ordered firmly, totally dismissing everything I said.
"No sir, I am afraid I can't do that." I turned him down firmly too. Two can play this game. Then I heard him click his tongue, glancing at him I realized his countenance had changed. He looked angry. "Why do you wenches keep doing this? Adelaide that fool would not stop running her mouth too. Aw! That little bitch, that was why she died." He cursed, muttering loudly.
I furrowed my brows. He just cursed his daughter, the one he almost teared up about. What was this? It sounded like he did something to her, like he had caused her death.
Before I knew it, he sprang up to his feet and approached me. Boldly, I maintained my stand and did not retreat.
I felt a stinging sensation on my cheek as he hit me across the face. The force and pain made me tilt my face to a side on a impulse, and it took me everything not to retaliate. It was stated in the manual, 'Never should you abuse a guest, no matter what.'
I wanted to strictly stick to the rules, now was not the time to cause trouble."I am sorry if I offended you, sir." I apologized gently.
"Of course, you should be sorry!" He grunted and hit me again. I swear, I was losing it already. The old, pot belly man was obviously enjoying assaulting me while I did nothing.
All of a sudden, we heard a ruckus outside. He turned to the direction of his man. "What's going on out there?"
"One of the lobby agents is trying to get in." He responded. "Really? Let them in." He replied and turned to me, glaring annoyingly.I saw Karima walk into the suite. She seemed distressed and must have come for me.
"Yes? What do you want?" Harrison started and she immediately bowed her head. "I am sorry, sir but I am here to get her. I brought some other people to tend to you, and if you want, I could do that myself." She replied.I furrowed my brows, was she doing this for me? Why?
"What a bad service Greenville offers. I should not have listened to the minister and come here!"
"We are sorry, sir." Karima apologized again.
"I don't need your apology, get out. She stays, I need her here." He retorted, still adamant about me.
Karina raised her head slowly to look at him straight in the eye. "But she really needs to go now, sir." She pointed out and he frowned deeply. "Are you stupid? Did you not hear me?!" He yelled as he lunged forward and slapped her too.I became furious and marched towards him. "You can't abuse her in that manner. Is this how vulgar politicians are?" I did not raise my voice but rather spoke calmly.
He turned to me, looking enraged. "What did you just say? You bitch!" He cursed and before anyone could say Jack, he grabbed an empty ice tea bottle and smashed it on my head."Mira!" Karima yelled, out of fear of course.
I could feel the thick, warm liquid flowing down my head, but I did not fall. I felt pain but it was not so agonizing, probably because the bottle was not a strong one.
"I am okay, Karima." I managed to say.
"You are crossing the line, Mr. Louis!" She yelled out of annoyance and some of his guys tried to interfere.
Again, we started hearing some noise from outside and then it stopped, there was no sound again and that had us all in motion. The door beeped and opened, then someone in a pair of black pants and a black shirt walked in.
They looked so familiar and raising my head to see the face, I gasped for breath. Jordan Reign.I was shocked when he walked in. Why was he here? What was he looking for? It seemed like he came for trouble but he was actually calmer than anyone in that space. Harrison seemed to recognize him too, but he was not dazed by him."Yes, how may I help you...Mr...Reign?" He raised his voice immediately. As if he had not heard anyone speak, Jordan walked towards us and sent a dreadful stare at Karima, she immediately took her face down."3PM, that was the instruction." He let out calmly but in annoyance. "I am sorry, sir. There's been a bit of a situation."He moved his gaze away from her and to me, then he just stared. In return, I moved my own eyes to Karima, questioning her non-verbally about what was going on. 3PM? What was supposed to happen then?"You were supposed to play for him by 3, plans changed." She mentioned and an 'o' escaped my lips. I realized he was still staring at me and I took my eyes down immediately. "Join me up there in ten minutes. I don't care about what h
It was my first time in that suite's bedroom. This place was beyond luxury and grandness, the bedroom was super spacious and well furnished. "Sit on the bed." He ordered and the red alerts really got triggered in my mind. What are we doing? I looked at him and saw the dreadful glare at me, no one told me before I complied.Honestly, I don't know how and why but he got me there. There was a strong pull. He moved closer to me and instead of defending myself or something, I closed my eyes out of fear, not anticipation now.I was literally at his control, it felt more like a supernatural thing. I don't know what happened but I could feel something refreshing on my skin. Opening my eyes slowly, I discovered his eyes were closed and his hands were above my head, make a certain, calm gesture above my head.Soon, he opened his eyes and they were now in Amber colour, I could see the flames in them. He did not even spare me a glance, right before me, he closed his eyes and opened them again,
The song went on and I could not just wrap my head around the whole thing happening. Again, some strange wind swept me off my feet and I fell to the ground. Jordan was in front of me the next second. "You are dying here." He asserted and I frowned. What did he mean by that? Dying? He was really going to kill me? I scrunched my brows. "Could you be any heartless? Firstly you bring a young woman in here to get into an unfair combat and now what?" He smirked obviously. "Is that an avenue for you to keep being weak? You brought it upon yourself, own up to it or at least pretend to have some strength." He ran his mouth real good at that point, and he was extremely calm too.His words triggered something in me and I felt anger within myself. It was mainly because it reminded me of when I was still in my father's pack, and also at Adrien's. Despite being the daughter of the Alpha, I did not escape the gossips, bashing, mockery that came from all sorts of people just because I was an O
Waking up, I met myself on the bed in a familiar room. It was Karima's, I perceived her Cologne around and I guessed it had rubbed off her bed. I got up, remembering everything that happened before I passed out. I felt my heart leapt immediately I remembered what happened with Jordan Reign.I got off the bed and walked out to look for Karima. She was nowhere to be found. I really wanted to know how I got here, how I left that forest. Then I saw a blue sticky note on the dining table. *Stepped out to sort some things. I prepared dinner already.*I checked the time and saw that it was around 9PM in the night. I had been off this world for close to six hours. But I was very hungry and thirsty! I moved to the kitchen area and got a glass of water to drink, then without thinking I moved on to eat the meal she had prepared. No exaggeration but Karima really knew this thing.I had it all stuffed in my mind and when I was done, I got up and went for the refrigerator. I picked out a juice
I would discern his voice even if I turned deaf! Jordan Reign.I frowned deeply and asked, "What do you want?""Giving you what you want." He responded. "Why did you lie about me passing out at the piano?" I inquired, making myself seem relaxed."You did pass out, did you not?" He asked sarcastically.I became speechless. What a jerk!I did not say anything and impatiently waited for him to say something. There was a wave of silence."Are you always this impatient?" His voice echoed in my ears. "What are you saying?" I frowned."Do you even know anything about your abilities?" "Want to teach me?" I raised my brows."No thank you." He retorted and I nearly scowled."Can I enjoy my milkshake in peace? Please." I was trying to dismiss him. "Dismissing? Anyway, we have another round to go. Stop with the weakling act." He asserted but I was surprisingly not so moved about his word. I took a little sip from the milkshake even though I could see what I was drinking. "Are you always thi
It was another day to face a crazy VVIP guest and a disguised multi billionaire. Karima did not stop me from going to work this time around and she was even yet to ask about my head injury. As soon as I was done dressing up I headed out of the apartment complex. Karima had said she would join me downstairs soon and that was the very first time i would be done preparing for work before her. As I waited in the parking lot, I saw Rowland also coming into the lot. He did not see me and I refused to call him, because I wanted to cross-check something. Bro legit unlocked the doors of a blue sports car and boarded it. He was indeed rich!I hid so he would not see me as he drove out, then I could not stop contemplating in my heart what exactly the reason why he would not what to disclose his true identity to me. Soon, Karima got out and we started heading to work. On our way, I decided to just throw the question instead of just stuffing my mind with thoughts. "Karima." I reached out."H
I was held back, what did he mean by teaching me about my energy and powers? How did he even know about it? "What do you mean by that and...how did you get to know that I want?" I raised my brows, feeling intense within me. He seemed to know too much about me and I could not understand."Is that necessary? Are you interested or not?" He pressed and I took a while to take some thoughts. He was trying to use my desires against me, no offence but I could not dive into something I knew nothing about."What are you even driving first? You suddenly want to teach me about myself when I barely know, I don't even know who you are!" I pointed out firmly. "Does that matter?""It does." I stated firmly and then there was a brief silence. "Okay, let's say I agreed to be 'taught' by you, how would I pay you back? You are wealthy enough so you definitely want something from me.""I don't need your money, you don't even have it. When the time comes, I will let you know." He responded and I frowned.
I headed up to Jordan's suite to see him. The guys at the door were not going to let me in and I had it out with them for a while."But, I really need to see him." I said to the guys blocking the entrance and there was no response from them even, as if they could not hear me speak. As I remained there and trying to get my way in, Kai Wren, that jerk's assistant walked towards the suite. Who knew if he was just like his boss too?"What is going on here?" He asked calmly and one of them cut me off so he could converse with him.He explained the whole thing to me and Kai turned towards me, looking at me in a funny and suspicious manner. While I was wondering why he was doing that, he finally spoke. "Mr. Reign has gotten signed out of here." He said and my jaw dropped. "What do you mean by that? He is leaving today?" I asked to confirm and he just nodded."No, that's impossible. We still talked this morning, and...why are you even here if he is leaving?""I came to get something we left.
