Not One Of Them

It was another day to face a crazy VVIP guest and a disguised multi billionaire. Karima did not stop me from going to work this time around and she was even yet to ask about my head injury.

As soon as I was done dressing up I headed out of the apartment complex. Karima had said she would join me downstairs soon and that was the very first time i would be done preparing for work before her.

As I waited in the parking lot, I saw Rowland also coming into the lot. He did not see me and I refused to call him, because I wanted to cross-check something.

Bro legit unlocked the doors of a blue sports car and boarded it. He was indeed rich!

I hid so he would not see me as he drove out, then I could not stop contemplating in my heart what exactly the reason why he would not what to disclose his true identity to me.

Soon, Karima got out and we started heading to work. On our way, I decided to just throw the question instead of just stuffing my mind with thoughts.

 "Karima." I reached out.

"Hm?"

"Why...are you not asking about my injury?" I asked her.

"What injury, Mira?" She raised her brows, not failing to show her expression even despite being focused on the wheel.

'Did she really not know...or??' I pondered.

"I was just teasing." I had to lie again, even though the lie was not so palatable.

"Why would you tease me with something like, Mira?" She inquired on a lighter mode and I just smiled. She was now giving me so many reasons to look into her existence and I would do just that!

We got to work and I was assigned to work on some paperwork while I waited for 10 to clock. I was already preparing my mind for whatever I would be doing and saying once I got to see Jordan Reign.

It seemed like he was still bent on completing the combat session we had two days ago. I grabbed my phone and just looked up ancient swords online. Practically everything about my world was on the social media, even categorized as fantasy. It was a shame but now it was advantageous to me as I had not so many foreknowledge about my world. I knew the basics though, and a few core knowledge about the werewolf kingdom.

I scrolled down for the sword images, looking for the one I had wielded through my energy in that forest. I spent so many minutes just scrolling and then I finally found it!

 Yes, it was there.

I did not get to see the sword's qualities properly when I saw it then because of the situation. The sword had a shiny, mirror-like blade covered in glowing symbols that seem to move on their own. The hilt was wrapped in smooth, shimmery threads, and the guard had magical runes that light up when near other magic.

At the end of the hilt was a colorful gemstone that pulses with a strange energy, making the whole sword feel alive with power.

I was about to look into the meaning of the spell and the history behind it when I got a call through the intercom.

I had not gotten a call through there before but I picked it up. "Hello." I tried to speak as meeky as possible.

"Is it not 10 yet in your world?" My heart skipped a beat when I heard his voice.

I glanced at the clock and saw that it was a minute past 10 AM. What the heck?! Just one minute lateness?

And he was already calling me?

I almost swore at him but I did a good job holding myself back. "I will be there in a jiffy." I replied through clenched teeth and I almost did not complete my statement when he hung up.

Even rude?! Heavens knew how I held myself from flaring up that moment. I got up from my desk and headed up to his suite. It took me about ten minutes before I got there.

He had to come open the door because I did not come with the master card out of hurry.

"Are you dumb? Why did you not come here with your master card?" He asked as soon as he opened the door and walked back in, not sparing me a glance.

'Guests are always right.' I muttered that to myself from the manual, session 3 line 6. If I would be replying, I would turn to a savage and for some reason, I still wanted to keep my new job.

"I am sorry, sir. I was trying to make it on time." I responded as I trailed behind him.

"That is not an excuse." He replied sharply and I sneered quietly.

"I can see you." He said. He had not even turned back. I halted in my steps, surprised.

"How?"

"You don't see eyes at the back of my head?" He inquired and that really got me.

"I...don't see anything. Are you..teasing me?"

"Tease you? Who are you?" He replied sassily and I sneered again.

"Continue doing that and I will take you back to that forest." He threatened and is scrunched my brows.

"Are you threatening me right now?"

"If you find that to be a threat, don't ever frown again whenever I call you a weakling." He responded.

"But really, I thought you hardly talked to people." I pointed that out because I was still surprised. Or did the higher-ups get that wrong about him?

"You are not one of them." He said.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Find that out yourself.." he declared and the conversation was concluded when we got to the first living room.

He sat down while I remained standing. I could not even tell who was more nice between him and Harrison Louis. At least, the old man offered me a seat.

What he said earlier resounded in my ears. 'Continue doing that and I will take you back to the forest.'

What did he mean by that?

"Wait, we are not using the forest this time?" I asked, raising my brows.

"What for?"

"The fight."

"With who?" He seemed so calm but his words and tone were sharp and firm.

"Are you kidding me right now?" I frowned deeply.

"You? You don't stand a chance. I was in a bad mood the other day." He responded.

"Oh...and I wonder what kind of bad mood would make a man challenge a lady to a fight." I said sarcastically.

"You don't need to know." He replied and I sneered again at him. "I don't want to know. I am not interested."

"Why did you call me here?" I asked, folding my arms against my chest with a contemptuous look on.

"Just... remain standing there." He said and I crinkled my face.

"Are you serious right now?"

"Probably you are ready to lose your job?" He chipped that in and it had me keep quiet. But all of a sudden, I started talking again.

"You cannot sack me, regardless of what power you hold "

"Really? Can't I?"

"Would you say why you had me come here or do you want to continue to gloat about how much influence you have?"

"You are rude." He let out.

"So are you, sir." I emphasized the 'sir', giving him a dose of his own medicine.

"I will teach you." He suddenly said.

"Teach me what? The piano? I know so much already, please." I shut him out.

"You wanted to know about your energies and powers, did you not? Mira Silver."
