In about thirty minutes, after walking down the noisy and bustling streets, I arrived at Greenville Club. The clubhouse was actually a big and grand looking one. I had never gone to a club before so I was not familiar with their surroundings and ways.
In my hoodie and pants, I walked up to the main entrance with my suitcase and bag. The security guards who mounted the entrance blocked me from going in. They looked at me from head to toe and shook their heads.
Of course, my dressing was off. "I am not here to club, I am here to see Travis Coles." I said to them but they remained stiff, head straight without paying attention to me.I felt like I was talking to the walls. I hissed angrily and brought out the complimentary card Travis had given me, then I showed it to them. They moved at that moment and then looked at me, then back at the card.
"How did you get this?" One of them asked. "He gave it to me, directly." I replied.
They seemed to believe me and at the same time not, so they put a call through to those inside probably. They must have gotten the approval to let me in because they moved out of my way immediately.I fought the urge to roll my eyes as I walked in. It was only normal that I felt out of place yeah. But then, I did not care. I did not mind seeing men dressed handsomely and then ladies almost half naked as I walked past the big club room.
I could hear blaring music from above too and I guessed there were other club rooms on other floors. As I stood there, just staring and looking disgusted by everything I was seeing, someone sneaked up on me.
He looked confused in some way, probably because of the way I was dressed. "I am sorry but I think you have missed your way, ma'am." The guy said and I scrunched my brows.
"And you are?" I raised my brows. "I am the manager here in the general club. I saw you coming in looking like...that so I got concerned."He was right to have been concerned anyway. Who wears a hoodie and a pair of pants to a club? Without further talk, I waved the card in his face politely. "Do you know who this is?"
His expression said it all. He looked shocked when he saw it and moved closer to me. "Why do you have the boss's card?"
"I am here to see him. Can you take me to where he is?"
Without objecting any further, he told me to follow him into an elevator and the he pressed the 5th button. We rode in the elevator to the fifth floor which happened to be the last floor."This is a VVIP floor and not everyone gets to come in here." The guy said but I remained mute. That was none of my business. I just wanted to see Travis, see if a deal could be made and if not, get out of here.
We eventually got to a door where two guys were standing, guarding. They let me in immediately like they knew I was there, while the manager turned around and left. I went in all alone and apparently, I had just walked into a lobby.
There was another door so I went there and placed my hand on the knob, then pushed the door open. It was as quiet as fuck there. I stepped into a spacious space, an office.
I looked around for the guy I had seen earlier in the day and I saw him sitting right there at his grand desk. He was on a call but when he saw me, he gestured me to come in.
On the walls were some paintings of women, different artworks and all of them were linked to just one concept-women.
I really prayed he was not a pervert because I could end up pouring out all my anger on him if he was not careful enough. His office was not bad after all, apart from the paintings on the wall every other thing looked professional. Right on his desk was a glass name plate that indicated his name and position.Travis Coles - CEO.
As soon as I got to where he was, I could clearly hear his conversation with the other person on the line.
"That baby is not mine, Ella, we both know." He said, not even minding my presence. Right from when we met, he seemed like one that was open-minded and did not mind people getting to know about his issues.I could tell from his manner of approach that morning.
"Don't you even dare try to deny this pregnancy." The other lady, who he referred to as Ella replied. The call was loud enough for me to hear from where I was standing."You know what? Let's talk later." He said to her and ended the call, then he turned to me with a broad smile. I did not expect that so I was unsure of how to reply.
"You came?." He pointed out and I felt like rolling my eyes again. Why was he mentioning the obvious?
"It's late, can we get to the discussion?" I asked and then he offered me a seat, apologizing for not doing that earlier."I am the one to employ you but it is you acting like my boss." He pinpointed, looking amused.
I did not say anything so he adjusted, definitely getting the message that I was here for a serious business. He was about to start talking but I raised my hand, stopping him.
"Hold on, so that none of us would waste our time, I believe you won't be asking me to be one of those girls and baby mamas? Or tell me to work as a stripper in your club." I asked.
I had tried to think of every possible thing he could ask me to do so I just had to say that beforehand so we would not have issues afterwards.
He burst into an hysterical laughter and I wondered what was funny from my questions. "Don't get ahead of yourself, beauty. I would have considered those but your beauty could be used for something better than that. Besides, you won't be working here, your job is somewhere else." He replied in a polite manner and I stiffened on his response.
Okay...maybe that was a green flag.
"You will be working as a lobby at Greenville resort, Miss or should I say Mrs Mira."
He said that and my jaw dropped. Lobby?I arched my brows. It was quite surprising, of course I knew what lobbying was because I was very well educated but I was not sure I knew what a 'lobby' person was supposed to be like.He must have noticed that I was in confusion so he took it upon himself to explain better. "Now, it's no easy task, to be very honest. You get to meet a lot of people, not just ordinary people now, Influential people, politicians, top country officials from different parts of the world, foreign investors, foreign ambassadors and if you are unlucky, you could get to meet with the Mafias." He explained."Meet them and do what exactly?" I furrowed my brows and he laughed softly. "It depends on the situation. In a case where our country and another would be having a peace treaty, you would be expected to take good care of the guests, and make sure nothing goes wrong till the mission is accomplished. That's an instance."I was not sure if this was what I signed up for, actually. Being a lobby agent? I had n
I had dinner with Travis that evening, stuffing my mouth like I had never eaten before in my entire life. I was really famished, like in a miserable way. Right after we were done eating, the lady he had called earlier, Karima, arrived to take me.She bowed at ninety degrees to Travis Coles. "I am sorry for being late sir, I could not get past the traffic." She apologized so politely and he just nodded."It's fine. This is Mira Silver." He introduced me to her. "She will be joining your team, as a lobby agent. She is an amateur, so you are to guide her through the three-day training." I could not help but frown when he called me an amateur, was that really necessary?I exchanged polite greetings with Karima without smiling. Working with humans was something I perceived to be as tough, being a werewolf even though as an omega who had not received her wolf.Sure, there were many werewolves who tended to cover their true identities and just live like humans. I had not tried staying amon
The moening soon came and I had to rush my bathing process because it was almost 6 AM and Karima would definitely be here at any time. I had not gone into the bathroom the previous night but entering it that morning to take my bath, I realized everything needed for a bath was available. There was a new toothbrush, sponge, face wash, mouth wash, body wash, towel and some other stuff. I stepped into the hot shower and washed away all my sufferings. I remembered bathing with freezing cold water the day before and I smirked, while under the hot shower.I don't know but it felt like a new beginning for me. I had anger stocked up in me but I would wait for the right time to unleash. I was not just angry at the Seventh heritage pack, but then I was furious at myself. The thought of wasting three good years of my life with someone that never adored or cherished me, going against my father's words and turning against his pack because I wanted to chase love.I thought Adrien had loved me for wh
"You are welcome to the team." Leo said to me as we stepped into the elegant elevator. "Thank you." I replied gently. "We are heading to the fortieth floor now, the training will be held there. But our main office is on the forty-two floor." He explained and I nodded, trying to be as polite as I could. We got to the fortieth floor and stepped out of the ride, then I saw some other people littering around. The ladies were in the same uniform as me and the guys too wore uniforms in the same colour shade. They all were in twos and it seemed like they were waiting for the training to start."Attention everyone!" I was surprised when Leo stepped forward to do that. We got their attention and then placed his hands against the other to his back, maintaining a stoic and professional stance. He acted quite differently from the person I had met earlier in the elevator."Good morning, ladies and gents. I am Leo, one of your instructors for today's training. The training starts in seven minutes,
Leo led me to Karima's office and left after he had a short talk with her. Her office was not something I had imagined; It was quite moderate but properly furnished and fit for her profession and rank. She had me sit and then started engaging me. "How was the training today?""It went quite well, Ms. Karima." I replied to her and she smiled. "Call me, Karima, everyone does. By the way, most people complained so much about the lengthy lecture hours so I expected that from you too."I clasped my hands together behind my back and sucked in my lips, not sure of how to reply to her. Then she smiled, as if she understood my plight. "It's alright by the way. I told Leo to bring you so you could have lunch here before you return to your apartment. I was wondering if you would not mind a brief tour in the resort too." A tour? A high ranking lobby agent like her was offering me a tour? I could not help but question her niceness within me, she definitely had other things to do, but she wanted
Training day two was soon here and like they said, it was not easy. It was more of a field training than a sit-listen lecture. We were firstly instructed to change into a fit gym wear instead of our uniforms, then we all hand weight scale. Most people were over the average and it took this new set of instructors nothing to make them lose proper weight within a few hours. Leo was one of them too and he had me specifically weighed by him. It turned out to be that I was about 3kg close to average. He raised his hand with his arms folded against his chest, looking confused."You don't eat beef? Chicken?" He raised his brows. For someone who spent over four months in prison, eating just vegetables, beans and water, how else could I have grown past the average weight?I only smiled gently at his question, I did not think I was meant to answer that. While others exercised under the hot sun, I remained sitting, drinking water from a Stanley cup. At some point, I was instructed to join th
For a while there, I thought I was dreaming, but I was not. How possible could it be? I clearly saw the man in the pool filled with bloody earlier so why was it looking like nothing had happened there?I had never been so confused in my entire life. Really?Karima turned around swiftly to face me and immediately, I started panicking. "I swear Karima, I am sure of what I saw." "Where is it now..Mira?" She asked but I had no reply to give her, no reasonable response."I am just as surprised. There was a man...here... literally...floating at the centre of this pool right here." I tried explaining even though I sounded crazy to myself, how would I convince her when I was also too confusion myself? She sighed and then brought out her phone. "Leo, don't bother. There's nothing." I heard her say then she dropped the call. I felt so bad that she probably felt I had alarmed them falsely."I am not lying, please. I am sure of what I saw." I persisted and then she released a soft, slight smile
Karima engaged me throughout the walk quite so well and by the time we returned to the huge apartment complex, we stopped at the point where we were going to part ways."I will be making something delicious for dinner, you want some?" She offered, smiling broadly. "Ugh... it's fine, you don't need to--""Mira, it's okay. I'll bring the food box to you later." She insisted and then I stepped out of the elevator, while she went up to her own floor. As I approached my door, I started feeling sore pains all over. "What's happening to me?" I muttered to myself as I tried dragging my feet into the apartment. The moment I got in, the pain became unbearable and I lost my balance. I had never felt like this in my entire life. I groaned loudly as I crawled into the living room in pains. "Ughh!!!" It was so loud and I was no longer sounding like myself. "What the fuck is going on?" I groaned loudly again and this time I felt my bones enlarging and poking out of my skin. My nails grew into
