A Lovely Day

The moening soon came and I had to rush my bathing process because it was almost 6 AM and Karima would definitely be here at any time. I had not gone into the bathroom the previous night but entering it that morning to take my bath, I realized everything needed for a bath was available.

There was a new toothbrush, sponge, face wash, mouth wash, body wash, towel and some other stuff. I stepped into the hot shower and washed away all my sufferings. I remembered bathing with freezing cold water the day before and I smirked, while under the hot shower.

I don't know but it felt like a new beginning for me. I had anger stocked up in me but I would wait for the right time to unleash. I was not just angry at the Seventh heritage pack, but then I was furious at myself.

The thought of wasting three good years of my life with someone that never adored or cherished me, going against my father's words and turning against his pack because I wanted to chase love.

I thought Adrien had loved me for who I was and was different from other guys, but that was just all a façade. Pressure would sure make one bring out their true identity.

I stepped out of the shower, applied body lotion to my already dry skin for moisture, I wore a facial sheet mask for a while too, for face moisture. I could not afford to leave out even the tiniest details about myself.

While I was on that, I heard the doorbell ring. Without even checking who it was, I went ahead to open the door. There was this good feeling I had when I saw Karima but I maintained a straight face and greeted her softly.

She smiled widely in return and walked into the house. "It seems like you have had your bath." She pointed out and I nodded.

"Good. Here, I brought you your uniform." She declared as she handed over a big paper bag to me.

I collected it from her and peeped into it, but it was packed.

"Go get changed. Training starts in an hour's time." She instructed and I complied, heading into my room.

I brought out a big brand carton and opened it to see neatly folded clothes and a pair of working heels.

I changed into it, a neat, navy blazer with a matching skirt, paired with a white blouse. I wore black closed-toe heels, a slim belt, and a silk scarf around my neck. My name tag was pinned to the blazer, giving me a polished and professional look.

   Mira Silver.

I had never worked in my entire life so I found it quite amazing and beautiful.

I stared at my reflection in the mirror but a smile never appeared on my face. I brushed my long, dark hair and packed it into a neat ponytail then I applied some lipgloss from the gloss tube that came with the package. There was a box of stud earrings and wristwatch too.

When I was done, I picked up my phone and stepped out of the room, then a sweet smell filled my nostrils. I stopped for a second and wondered where that was coming from. I narrowed my gaze into the living room and saw that Karima was not there, so I headed towards the open kitchen. She was there.

I moved closer and when she noticed my presence, she turned to me.

"What are you doing, ma'am?" I questioned.

"I am trying to make something for breakfast, for you. You will definitely be having a long day." She replied gently.

It did not make sense to me, still. Travis clearly said she would be my team leader and obviously, she was quite high-ranked because she was wearing a different shade of uniform from what I was wearing.

Team leads are meant to be mean right? If not that, was it not supposed to be 'strictly' professional? Here she was, cooking for me like it did not mean anything to her.

I stood there and just stared as she made some toast. Then, it occurred to me. Madison. Yes, she was acting just like her! The smile, gentleness, softness and kindness. Was this just a coincidence?

...

I understood minutes later while she had me dress up even though the training was still in about an hour. Greenville resort was quite far distanced, around the outskirts of Beatle City.

We arrived at the magnificent, grand resort.

The resort's exterior was so breathtaking. A grand entrance with tall, arched doorways that led to a sprawling building with elegant stone facades and large glass windows reflecting the blue sky.

Palm trees and manicured gardens surrounded the property, and there was a long driveway with fountains. The resort’s multiple wings stretched out, with terraces and balconies overlooking the blue ocean.

She parked in a designated area and we both alighted from the car. As we approached the entrance elegantly, a fine looking man stepped out and came in our direction.

"Good morning, Karima." He greeted, nodding his head and she replied.

"Leo, when is the VIP coming around?" She inquired as we all strolled in.

"In an hour, a helicopter has been sent to pick them up the moment they land at the airport." He said to her.

"Okay! Tell all to copy that." She asserted and he nodded. Then he noticed me and looked at her.

"Who is she?" He asked in a gentle way, probably intending for me not to hear but I did.

"Our new team member, Mira Silver." She introduced and then turned to me, "Say hi. He is Leo, my co-team lead."

I obeyed and said hi to him without smiling, then he responded politely too..

"You look pretty, ma'am." He complimented.

"It's obvious." Karima chipped and smiled at me.

We eventually got into the resort.

The resort's interior was opulent and so inviting. The grand lobby featured gleaming marble floors and towering pillars, with a massive chandelier sparkling overhead. Plush sofas and elegant armchairs were arranged in cozy seating areas, while soft, warm lighting created a welcoming atmosphere.

There were large windows offering stunning views of the ocean and gardens outside. Then the walls were adorned with art, and gold accents lined the furnishings. There were grand staircases, with polished railing, sweeping upward to the upper floors, and an escalator at another part of the lobby.

Karima halted her steps and I stopped too. She turned to Leo, "Please take Mira to the training room, I need to sort something out."

"Alright." He responded and then she turned to me. "Have a lovely day!"
