Grey walked into the pack house, waded through the greetings of the omegas moving around, and preparing for dinner. He climbed up the stairs, and walked into the room. Maya was sitting on the bed, and she quickly stood up when she saw him.
"You're back," she said, fidgeting with her fingers."Yes," he replied. "You went to the river today?" He asked her, as he walked closer to her.She nodded. "I saw the man in the river and I could not stop myself from helping him. Please don't scold me," She pleaded. He sighed. "Come here," he said, pulling her into his arms. "I'm not scolding you," he added as he stroked her hair."I know you're against things like this and .." she began to speak, lifting her head up to look at him, and he placed his index finger on her lips."Yes, I am," he said, and dropped his finger from her lips. "And I was quite upset that you went to the river, and brought a stranger to the pack house. But, I understand"Who is it?" Grey asked as he looked over my shoulders, towards the door."Alpha, it's Noah. The stranger has awoken," Noah announced from outside the door."Oh my," Maya gasped. "Let's go see him immediately," she said to Grey, a feeling of excitement surging through her.Grey walked over to the seater that he had discarded his shirt, and as he walked out of the room, he put the shirt on with Maya right behind him."Why are you so excited about this stranger waking up?" Grey asked her as they walked down the hallway way, with Noah trailing behind. She shrugged. "I don't know, but, is it not a normal thing to be happy when someone regains consciousness even though you don't know them?" She asked him."I'm not excited. Once I get to know where he's from, he'll explain what he's doing here in my territory, and I'll send him packing, with immediate effect," Grey replied as he walked down the stairs."You think everyone is o
Maya turned around, and stared at him. He walked closer to her, leaving a reasonable amount of space between them. "What has gotten into you?" He asked her."What has gotten into me or what has gotten into you?" She fired at him, and he raised a brow in questioning. "How could you be so heartless? Why are you so eager to ship off a man who has barely recovered?" She demanded."So, this is what this is all about? You're putting up an attitude because of a stranger?" He asked her, his eyes narrowing."No, I am not putting up an attitude because of the stranger. I'm getting angry because you can't even wait for him to recover, and you're chasing him out of the pack already," she said to him, her anger slowly seeping into her tone."I do not know him or where he has come from. He could be a fucking spy," Grey replied, irritated that they were arguing because of his decision."Don't you get it?" She asked, her tone raised. "He does not remembe
The stranger nodded as he picked up the bowl of broth the salutary served him. "Thank you," he said to him."You're welcome. You need to eat, so you can take your medications," the salutary said, and the stranger nodded as he watched him walk away."Since you can't recall your name, what should I call you?" She asked him with a friendly smile on her face."Any name you give me, I'll take it," he replied, and Maya looked at him. She noticed that he was an handsome man with dirty blonde hair, that was cut at the nape of his neck. He was beardless, and had a strong chin. He had slim shoulders, and he was a bit lanky. What attracted her to him was his eyes. They reminded him of Gwen's. "I'll call you green eyes," she said with a smile."I like that," he smiled back as he spooned the broth into his mouth.~~~~~~~~~~Evening came, and still there was no sign of Grey. Maya was tempted to text him, but her pride kept getting in the
Maya walked down the stairs, and headed towards the dining table. On the table were platters of roasted salmon fillet with creamy horseradish, pickled horseradish beets, and marinated pork. Maya pulled back her chair and sat down. No one was at the table yet. Just then, Gwen walked out of the kitchen, carrying a pitcher of freshly squeezed orange juice. "Good morning, Luna," Gwen greeted with a smile as she placed the pitcher on the table."Morning, Gwen. How are you today?" Maya asked, returning her smile."Very well, Luna, and you?" Gwen asked about her wellbeing."I'm also fine," she responded."Very well then, I'll take my leave," Gwen said, and turned to leave."Wait," Maya stopped her, and Gwen turned around."Yes, do you anything?" She asked her."Yes. Could you place take some breakfast to green eyes at the salutary?" Maya requested.Gwen had a puzzling look on her face. "Who's green eyes?" She
"She's making you take all these outrageous decisions," Eli continued in anger. "Firstly, you cut ties with your friend, my daughter, Vivian. Then, you allowed a stranger stay in this pack house on her behalf, and now you have allowed a lowlife omega like her dine on the royals table! Outrageous!" Eli vehemently said, seething in rage."With all due respect, elder," Maya began to say in a purposed tone, and everyone on the table turned to look at her. "I'm not in support of Grey cutting ties with Vivian, but he sees it as what's best, and I respect his decision. It has nothing to do with me. She is his friend, and he knows how well best to deal with her," she said, and Grey had a twinkle in his eyes as he watched her defend herself. She continued. "As the Luna of this pack, I also get to make some decisions. If I have decided to let the stranger stay in the pack till he recovers, and my husband as agreed with me, then there's no argument about it," Maya stated, au
"You're the alpha's wife. It's presumably that you're his mate too. It's quite obvious," Green eyes explained to her. He noticed her perplexed look, and continued. "You do not know?" He asked her, and she shook her head nervously, that was when green eyes knew he had made a mistake. "I'm sorry. I thought you knew. Everyone knows their mate, right?" He asked her, looking apologetic. She swallowed, as she could feel her pulse racing. She chuckled nervously, refusing to believe what she was hearing. "No, you're mistaken. Grey is my mate, but I am not his," she explained to him.He had a puzzling look on his face with a mixture of confusion. "That's not possible. It's rare to be mated to someone whom you're not mates to as well," he said, looking at the slim possibilities of that happening. "Except he was able to conceal the mate bond, stopping you from feeling it," green eyes added. "I'm not insinuating he did though," he said.Maya stumbled back in horror, s
"Hi," Vivian said, walking over to green eyes, when she saw him coming out of the salutary's cabin. He turned to look at her. "Hi," he responded."You're the stranger everyone is talking about," she said with a smile."What is there to talk about me for?" He asked her.She chuckled. "You're a handsome man, stranger. I must say you have a lot of admirers from the ladies in this pack. They're talking about how handsome you are," she replied."Okay," he replied simply."And how the Luna likes you very much to ensure that you stay in this pack," she said with a cynical smile. He stared at her. "She's just being nice to a man who can't recall his memory," he replied."That's what you think. Anyways, you could have a shot with her since she's not Grey's mate," she said."She is," he replied, bursting her bubbles, and she stared at him in shock."She is his mate?" She asked, horrified. She continued.
As the morning sun rose high in the sky, Maya walked down the stairs for breakfast. She walked towards the dining table and met Zing already seated. "Good morning, Zing," she greeted, managing to have a small smile on her face."Good morning, Luna. How do you do?" Zing asked her, just as Maya sat down."I'm alright," she responded.Just then Gwen joined them for breakfast except Grey. After another exchange of greetings, they began to eat, and from the beginning of the breakfast, to the end, there was nothing sign of Grey. After breakfast, Zing sent Grey a text, asking him were he was. A few minutes later, Grey responded to his texting, saying that he was in the study room. Zing immediately went to him, and when he got to the study, he saw Grey seated behind the desk, but his back was turned against it. He was close to the windows of the study room, looking far into the forest."Grey, what's going on? Why did you not come down for breakfa
Maya was rushed over to the salutary who attended to her while the rest of the pack house were in a frenzy. ** Five days later ***Grey held Maya's hand, his eyes not leaving her face as he hoped and prayed that she would open her eyes soon. Gwen was sitting at the opposite side of the bed, with her hands clasped in prayers. She has already told Grey all about Vivian. She had been the instigator of the lie that spread out in the heavens, just to get rid of Maya. It's been five days since Maya was in coma and she feared for her life. Grey had never left Maya's side since she was brought into the salutary's cabin. He was disoriented and too worried about her to worry about himself. He prayed fervently, every now and then for her to open her eyes. He prayed to whoever he hoped would answer. The Salutary had no idea if Maya would ever wake up, but yet, Grey did not lose hope. His heart, body and soul was wrenched in pain and the pain of losing Maya and the baby, hurt him the more. All of
"I didn't tell you who I am. How did you know?" Grey asked the witch."Who doesn't know the legendary Dark emperor who has now reincarnated into an alpha? I know you too well and I know what brought you here," she said. She had white streaks in her raven hair.Grey stared at her and waited for her to continue. "You're here concerning the apocalypse and the possible solution to it," she said and Grey nodded. "The ancestors have told me of your coming already," she added."You have been told all your life that light and darkness do not go hand in hand. It is an unbalanced force of nature, but you've been told lies all along," she said and they all stared at her in amazement except from Grey who was shocked."Light and darkness go together, alpha. That's why the mystical lake was placed in the demon world to prove that even the purest streak of light can be found in darkness. The child said to be born to initiate the apocalypse, is the wrong prophecy. The child is being born to unite the
"All these, are the reasons why I was hostile to Maya. I could not tell her about it and that was why I was being subtle in our separation until maybe I get a solution to it all," Grey said."Have you found anything?" Zing asked.Grey shook his head. "I went to meet the heavenly emperor. Someone stole the ancient book about the mystical lake in the demon world. The book holds invisible writings on how to merge the three worlds together using the lake as a connection. What this person is not aware of is that, this could destroy everything," he explained further."Who is this person?" Zing asked."I do not know. The heavenly emperor is pretending not to know. He only told me that the Heavenly mirror and the staff of light are tools in causing this destruction and these two properties of heaven are missing," Grey said.Zing narrowed his eyes. "They're with Maya," he replied."Not anymore. They were taken away from her," Grey said.
As soon as she was gone and out of his sight. Grey mounted the stairs. He got into the study room and in a fierce anger, he threw away every thing laying idly on the table over to the floor. He groaned in pain and hurt as he flung the desk in disarray. With that done, he crumbled to the floor, finding it hard to breathe as short gasped of painful tears gathered in his eyes and threatened to surface.•"Maya, you don't have to go. This can be settled," Gwen said to Maya in a pleading voice, outside the pack gate.Maya shook her head. "This cannot be settled, Gwen. I believe in Grey a lot and I do love him, but, this is the last straw that I can take. I do not know what has gotten into him, but, I cannot handle it any longer," she replied in a tear filled voice."Maya," Gwen began to say pitifully so she could stay, but Maya stood her ground, declining to stay back in the pack house.Just then, Zing showed up. "What'
Vivian is taken to the salutary by Grey while Maya still stood speechless for what has just happened. She could hardly believe her eyes. Can a push cause a miscarriage? She pondered. But, if she had not done that, she would have been the one on the ground with blood flowing down her legs.Grey got to the salutary's cabin and instructed the salutary to take attend to Vivian urgently. "Grey," Vivian called him through gasps as he turned to leave. He turned to her. "The salutary will attend to you. I'll be back," he said and with that, he walked out of the cabin and headed back to the pack house.Gwen walked down the stairs and saw Maya frozen in a spot. She was puzzled. "Maya?" She called her attention and Maya turned to look at her with an horrified look on her face.Gwen was shocked by this until she noticed the small stain of blood on the floor. She became confused as she approached her friend. "What happened?" She asked her.M
"Who is this person?" Grey asked him.Heavenly emperor stared at him. "It's for you to find out," he replied."Do not give me that, emperor. You're the heavenly emperor, right? You should know about this person that's about to cause a massive destruction in our worlds," Grey said, getting angry all over again. The heavenly emperor stared at him. "The emperor is all seeing, Verne. But, some things are hidden and without the heavenly mirror, it cannot be seen," he replied.Grey stared at him and exhaled. "How do we stop this?" He asked."Firstly, we cannot pair with each other because you're a demon emperor," the heavenly emperor replied."Enough of that nonsense, emperor. If we do not pair together to save our world, we'll all perish, irrespective of who's a demon or a god," Grey said, making a point and the heavenly emperor stared at him."Fine. Just for the sake of the worlds, I'm willing to put aside our differences an
"The both of you can go to hell for all I care," Vivian scoffed and without waiting to eat breakfast on the dining table, she picked up her plate and walked away in anger. She was walking towards the stairs when Grey was coming down the stairs. He wanted to ignore her, but he saw Maya walking down the stairs from the corner of his eyes."Where are you going with your breakfast?" He asked her."Is it not Zing and Gwen? They were speaking rude to me and warning me to stay away from you. That's why I'm heading to my room to eat my breakfast," she replied with a pitiful look on her face."What impertinence," Grey ranted as he walked away from Vivian and headed over to Zing.Maya was surprised by his sudden demeanor over Zing and she walked down the stairs, heading over to the dining table."Zing, what right do you have to talk to the mother of my child in such a manner?" Grey demanded in anger.Zing rose up as he scoffed. "A
It bothered him a lot. He turned to Athon. "Let him be buried immediately," Grey said and Athon nodded. "Do you perhaps know the reason on his death?" He inquired."I think I do, my Lord," Athon said as he walked over to the shelf. "One of the books on the shelf is missing, my Lord. It is the only book concerning the mysterious ancient lake," he replied.Grey was puzzled. "What has a book got to do with the death of the Mountain demon?" He asked him.Athon explained further. "The book withholds the secrets of the lake, my Lord. It is an ancestral powerful book that was discovered by the first demons," he said.Grey was still not getting what he was saying.Athon took in deep breaths. "Alpha, this book is said to consist of secret and invisible writings that no man can read. These writings when exposed, leads whoever is in control or possession of the book to the merging of all three worlds. The heavens, the earth and the demon world. I be
"I heard about your debts, Alfred," Grey began as he leaned back in his seat. "But, I must inform you before helping you out on this," he continued and Alfred was keened to what he was saying. "Your wife is responsible for your huge debts," he dropped the bombshell.Alfred was shocked. "What?" He exclaimed softly, puzzled and confused.Grey nodded. "I am not aware of how she does it, Alfred. But, to my best of knowledge, she collects money in your name because of her mother and I do not know what she uses them for. You should speak to her," he said."I'm quite shocked by this," Alfred said and his expression said it all. "So, Lisa has been doing this without my knowledge?" He asked himself, still stunned."Do not quarrel with the naive woman, Alfred. She has been doing all That because of her mother. But, that's by the way," Grey said as he tapped his index finger on the desk. "Get those payments from your wife, settle those people she g
