Carol did what she wanted to do, I mean stitch my wound! Seriously. My wound would have healed on its own without stitches. I glanced at the IV she had put in my hand.

"Is this necessary?" I asked, pointing to the IV.

"It's essential; does it hurt?" she asked as her needle and thread stitched my wound. I must admit that Carol's hand movements as a doctor were very agile.

When shifters are seriously injured, the doctor always gives the same treatment. Usually, a certain liquid is dripped into our wounds. This is a kind of traditional medicine that has survived for generations.

"Not really," I replied.

"Your incision is quite long, it will take quite some time to heal."

"It's okay!"

"It seems like you guys had a big fight, is the first year of marriage always like that?" she said.

I cringed, frowning, "Sorry?"

"Hmm, I often hear my married friends fighting, even my parents got divorced. So, I think marriage is a bad thing. I mean, why get married if you end up breaking up?"
