When the sun finally went down, spike left to give me some space to think. I hated the idea of being alone, but I knew being around him wouldn't let me think with a clear head. Before he left, he kissed me like it was the last time he would ever kiss anyone again, and maybe it was our last kiss. I sat on the couch, staring at the books that littered the coffee table, my mind racing with thoughts and emotions. I knew that I needed to make a decision soon, but I also knew that rushing into anything would only lead to more heartache.

As I sat there in the quiet of the room, I closed my eyes and tried to focus on what my heart was telling me. It was a difficult choice to make - between Brax, who had been there for me in the past. He was my first love, someone that I was destined to be with, but he also reminded me of all the pain I had been through, and Spike, who had shown me nothing but love and support, always putting my needs above his own.
