Chapter 61

We walked a few blocks before stopping in front of a dimly lit store. Pushing open the door, bells rang. As we did, I gripped Spikes' hand tighter. "It's okay; I would never do anything to hurt you, Luna," he said softly.

I followed Spike into the dimly lit store, my heart pounding in my chest. I had no idea what to expect, but I knew that I needed help. The air was thick with the scent of herbs and incense, and a sense of unease washed over me as we approached a figure standing behind the counter.

The woman had dark, piercing eyes that seemed to bore into my soul. She looked at me with a mixture of curiosity and concern, as if she could see right through me. "What brings you here, child?" she asked in a voice that sent shivers down my spine. "your darkness is not welcome here."

"This is Luna, the girl I told you about," Spike explained.

The woman nodded before she turned her gaze back to me. "You carry a heavy burden, Luna," she said softly. "But there is hope for you yet."
