Chapter 56

Roughly Nine Rouges emerge from the tree line in front of Tabitha's house talking among themselves " man she was the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen but she seemed to be shy, she said she has lots of friends who could show us a great time "

" Okay, that's all well and good but why is it that we have to visit so late at night and so damn deep in the woods, does this not seem strange to any of you? as though we're walking into some sort of trap or something? did she even tell you her name dude? "

They all stop walking just as they approach where the porch is where Tabi and I are standing motionless " come to think of it, she didn't, do you really think she's some kind of bait? " " I mean come on guys, she told you to come late at night and bring friends and nothing else, I mean yeah sure who doesn't love a good fk but this just seems absurd, look around, what the fk is even out here if not soon our dead bodies or something "

" Come on Chris, you're over thinking it " " I'm just being cautious guys, I'm sure you've heard rumors about wolves disappearing and being kidnapped from their packs and what not, I'm not trying to be part of that statistic, let's just be careful okay? "

" Alright man, we'd be cautious " there is no further discussion as they make their way on through for forest and disappear from the vicinity " perhaps I should stay over night after all " " good choice " " though it is concerning where those guys are headed, perhaps I should follow " " they're just rogues Miss, why worry over them? " " even if they are rogues, they are people too and they don't seem like a bad bunch "

The woman stares at me long and hard before turning away with a small smile, " you're an odd one " she says more to herself than to me and goes into the house to sit down, I'm not exactly an early sleeper so I sit out on the porch for bit after bringing my bad boy up onto the porch where it's safer, or feels safer to me.

About Thirty minutes give or take have passed when I hear hurried footsteps approaching like people on the run, Six of the Rogues from earlier seem to be running for their lives, why don't they shift? and what the heck are they running from " I told you something was not fkin right! " " just focus and run and forget about the blame game right now! " " what the hell even was those things! " they zip by the house and about Four minutes after I see Five creature zoom pass the cottage.

I wait until after they're a good ways away from the cottage before leaving the barrier, as I don't want to risk exposing Tabitha's home and safe place.

I chase after them and it's easy to find them because I hear shouting and screams ahead of me, they are surrounded by Jackolanterns which are balls or fire all the while the black and purple liquid is slowly oozing it's way to them and a beautiful woman is staring at them and they seem to be mesmerized, all with the exception of the one that was talking earlier about it being too good to be true.

His back is turned to her and he'd desperately looking for a way out, I can't leave them to die, even though they are Rogues, they are people too.

I quickly climb up to the tree above where the woman stood, I need to try and catch her alive but remove her from their line of sight to free them from what ever trance they seem to be in, I aim my net at her after soaking it in Bloody Bark sap ' you can do this Red ' I put my mask on to hide my face and cover my hair as  always do, then I give myself a quick pep talk before dropping the net, it connects directly with her, she screams out and I drop from the tree and quickly tie her up and pull her up on the branch securely.

By then the men had been out of their trance and shouting once again, I fill my mouth with more of the sap and spit it out onto the Jackolanterns, they screech out and move away from me " run! " I shout to the men and they waste no time making their way away from the scene " thank you! " the same guy says before running after his friends.

The Lanterns try to come at me or perhaps to get to the woman but I keep spraying them with the Bloody sap which seems to hurt them quite a lot, they eventually give up and flee taking the ooze with them, " now how do I get you back to my pack "

" This will help you Sala " I see Tabitha and a few others pulling a box with weird markings on it " put her inside " I cut her down and lay her in the box and cover it " quickly let's get back to the cottage before others come in search of her "

We quickly get back to the cottage and sure enough not even Five minutes after, Three other beautiful run past us being led by the lanterns, I can hear their screeches in the distance no doubt calling out for her.
