Kit’s POV Hours had passed by before we knew it, and Dom thankfully had led my wolf back to the cabin where it was now time to convince her to allow me to return to my human form, but I wasn’t so sure this was going to go over so well, from what she had put me through earlier tonight with the shift. As if Dom knew how to handle my wolf, he nudged up against her one last time, before he shifted back into his human form. He then kneeled beside me and ran his hands through my wolf’s fur, before he said to my wolf, “Now let me have Kit back, and I promise you tomorrow night another run with my wolf.” This time there was no growl or fight in her towards him, but there was something else, as she licked his face, and then I felt the shift happening, but this time there wasn’t an ounce of pain, as I found myself on all fours in my human form. Dom quickly moved to help me stand up, and my muscles instantly began to hurt as if I had run a marath
Dom’s POV Shit, I hadn’t thought this through letting him check the cabin, as I could smell Kit’s heat beginning to fill the room, and I knew wherever she was hiding at this moment, she had to be bearing down the pain, not to expose herself to my father’s men. Of all the moments that her heat wanted to show itself, why now. “The scent smells fresh, as if your little mistress is still here.” My father’s man named Kevin now said as his nose pointed in the air taking in Kit’s sweet scent, and a protective growl slipped from my lips before I could stop it, because my wolf wasn’t liking another male so close to where our mate was now in heat. Knowing that I needed to cover over my little slip of the growl, I say to Kevin, “You know how I like my mistresses, it’s no secret. One of them maybe in heat and by the smell of it, would you, yourself not want a taste of it?” Kevin at that moment let out a growl of frustration, and I kn
Kit’s POV Even though I knew the words spoken from Dom’s mouth were lies to please his father’s men, they still stung hard hearing them, especially as I lay here in his arms, wishing that this could last forever. I knew now that our time together may have to end before the end of my heat, and I just prayed to the Moon Goddess that she would have mercy on me and end this before he has to go. Dom laid a soft kiss on my forehead, before he says to me, “My father’s men were here for me. I bought us a couple of days, but I’m going to have to go back and face him, and I want you to know that I have decided to talk to him about reinstating the contract between us.” My body rolled quickly around so that I could face him, not believing that he was going to talk to his father about us, but as I looked into his eyes, I could see that he was committed to doing so. Fear at that moment rose from within me, that the Alpha would be infuriated with not j
Kit’s POV As Dom opened the door to the vehicle, a part of me felt nervous being in public with him, in fear that someone might see us together, but as he extends his hand to me, I felt the urge to take it in mine. Dom had insured me that none of our kind would be here, and I just prayed that he was right, because I didn’t know how we would explain this to his father or mine. Even though Dom said he was going to talk to his father, the cat still wasn’t out of the bag, and right now even though we were fated mates, it felt like we were sneaking around. Making our way to the entrance of the restaurant, I looked around at all the vehicles parked in the parking lot, and my nerves became more on edge than they already were. “Are you sure about this?” I ask Dom as I pause by the entrance, wondering if we should just get takeout and go back to the cabin, where we could enjoy dinner alone. Dom squeezed my hand, and leaned in giving me a soft kis
Kit’s POV Dinner was absolutely amazing, and I can’t remember ever finishing my whole plate, but tonight I had an appetite like I had never had before. Dom convinced me that it was because of my wolf and the run that we had last night. The waitress at that moment came to remove our plates as she sat two plates of chocolate cake in front of us, and I looked at Dom wondering when he had ordered us dessert, but then the waitress says, “The gentleman at the table over there insisted that he buy you dessert.” My head turned to see where she was pointing to, and I froze when I realized who it was. Of all the people that could have seen us out together, he was the last that I would have ever dreamt of seeing here. As his eyes met with mine, a smile formed on his face as he went to stand and began moving in our direction. Dom grabbed ahold of my hand squeezing it, pulling me from his gaze, allowing myself to get my bearings, as m
Kit’s POV Was Dom being serious? Did he not understand what could have happened if Alpha Jace went back to his father telling him that we were together? “Seriously Dom? I was trying to protect you. Goddess knows what he would have done if I hadn’t told him that. He could have called your father and told him where you were and who you were with.” I told him, as a part of me was getting upset that he was even questioning my love for him now after what we had just shared. I was doing it to protect him, and he needed to see that. “The thought of you with him drives me mad.” Dom says to me through gritted teeth, as his eyes remain looking out the windshield, like he was lost in thought, trying to calm himself down and his wolf, as his hands grip the steering wheel, turning his knuckles white. Reaching over, I place my hand on his leg, before I say to him, “I’m yours Dom. I have always been yours.” Dom’s head a
Kit’s POV Tears poured now from my eyes, as my slap across Dom’s face awakens him from his craze, and he lets go of my head, taking a step back from me, with the look of horror in his eyes. “I’m so sorry, Kit. I don’t know what possessed me to do that.” He says to me as he stands now feet away from the bed, with his head down in shame. There was no doubt in my mind that it was the mate bond between the two of us that was causing him to lose his mind, especially with another Alpha wolf showing interest in me, making him feel the need to mark me as his. Unfortunately, it wasn’t that simple for us, and I would never be his mistress, playing second fiddle to who he takes, or should I say, who he is forced to take by his father as his Luna. I knew that Dom would never intentionally hurt me, but right now with my heat, and finding out that I was his fated mate, it was not safe for me for us to be around other males. Plus, if I allowed Dom to m
Dom’s POV Sitting in my vehicle parked in front of my family’s estate, I knew what I had to do if I was going to make Kit mine. The thought of having to talk to my father and seek his permission sickened me, because Kit was my fated mate. The Moon Goddess had chosen her for me, and by the old laws there should be no questioning our union, but by the new laws of my father, he was the one that made the ultimate decision. Finding the courage within me, I finally get out of my vehicle and head straight inside the house to my father’s office where I knew he would be this time of the day. But as I opened the door to my father’s office, I froze when I realized that he was not alone, but in the middle of a meeting. Not wanting to anger him before I spoke with him, I decided to back step out of his office until the meeting was over. As I begin to close the door, my father calls out to me, “Domonic perfect timing.” Thinking that th
Kit’s POVSeven years later… “Damian, grab your brother, and your sister and get in here. We have to leave now, if we are going to make it.” I yelled out the backdoor, as I was now in a panic that we were going to miss the ceremony. Dom was making sure that all our luggage made it to the SUV, as I rounded up our children to head to Mystic Shadow. Ms. Caroline at that moment moved from the kitchen with a basket in her arms, and I knew from the smell coming from it, she had baked a fresh batch of her famous cookies for the road trip there. It didn’t take much convincing on my behalf to get Ms. Caroline to come and live with us at our new estate. She was treated more as family then she was as hired help, and she had a cottage on our estate to call home, when she needed her own space. “You heard your mother, lets get a move on it.” She yelled out the backdoor, reinforcing what I had already said, and I gave her a smile knowing
Kit’s POVFor a moment, I wanted to believe that I was seeing what my mind wanted me to see, but I knew it couldn’t be him, because we had buried his body, the day after the war was won against Red Moon. But there standing at the bottom of the grand stairs stood a man, with the same eyes that Dom had, staring back at me. It was as if I was witnessing a frozen moment in time from the night of the ball, and everything around me now wasn’t real. My sister’s hand that I was once holding for support, slowly evaporated from my own grasp, like it was never there in the first place. My head at that moment began to spin, as if time was rewinding, and everything that had happened had all been a dream. If this was true, I knew if I looked to my right, Alpha Jace would be surrounded by a group of starving women trying to get his attention. Closing my eyes, I turned my head to the right, half scared to open them, because in my heart, I wanted this to so badly to be
Kit’s POV Red Moon thankfully fell that day, but so much was lost in taking them down, and my heart ached at the pain it has brought to all of us. But by taking down Red Moon, an alliance among those packs that fought together, had been formed, and Alpha Jace was deemed as head of a council that was created, so that not one pack was solely in control of the region. Dom had made the ultimate sacrifice that day, and my world and Damian’s, will be forever changed because of it. I no longer had to worry about Damian’s safety, as Alpha Orion was dead, and Luna Rebeca was also gone, at the hands of Lizzy, who I will forever be in her debt for. My father’s estate was now my home, and for the first time it actually felt like a home to me, especially since I had Ms. Caroline in my life again. It all felt so surreal being here, since it was the place that I had feared coming back to, for so long, but now I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.Even t
Dom’s POV I had loaded all the Alphas’ heirs in the van, like Alpha Jace had told me to, but as I began to drive down the lane with them, I found myself bringing the van to a complete stop, when I heard one of the Alpha boys say, “Domonic what is going on?” Looking into my rearview mirror, I realized quickly that he was talking to another little Alpha boy in the backseat, instead of me, and my eyes set on the little Alpha boy that was called Domonic. There was nothing about the Alpha boy that remotely looked like me, and it made me wonder if my intuition of Rebeca, not actually having my child was true. As I stared at him, I quickly realized who he resembled, and I knew now who Rebeca’s fated mate was. Damian at that moment whispers back to the other Alpha boy, “Don’t worry, you know our father will come for us.” As his eyes move to mine, looking at him in the rearview mirror.I didn’t have to think much on who he meant by their father,
Jace’s POV Not even bothering to wait for a response from Alpha Domonic, I race towards the house, knowing that my mate could very well be inside, especially since Luna Rebeca disappeared inside moments ago. As soon as I stepped inside the house, I could smell Elizabeth’s sweet scent filling my senses, and I knew that she had to be recently here in the foyer. Following her scent, I moved towards my right, down a hallway that look to be leading to Alpha Orion’s office. Voices now filled the air, as I could hear Luna Rebeca arguing with someone, and by the sounds of it, that someone was her mate, as she was scolding him for going to leave her. Pausing in the hallway, I heard her say to him, “Everything I have ever done has been for you. You promised me that we could finally be together soon, with our son.” A growl rippled from the room and down the hallway, letting me know that the male in the room was no other than Alpha O
Jace’s POV Alpha Domonic lets out a growl as he holds Luna Rebeca’s body by her throat, and I knew that I had to stop him from killing her at this moment, because it was now clear that we had our own bargaining chip to get Elizabeth back. Luna Rebeca obviously had a fated mate here at Red Moon, and I knew that her mate would do whatever it took to keep her safe. Even though I wanted Luna Rebeca dead for Kit and Damian’s safety, right now wasn’t the time to take her life, as we needed her to ensure my own mate’s safety. Shifting back into my human form, I move to Alpha Domonic, and say to him, “Don’t kill her yet. We need her to get Elizabeth back.” Alpha Domonic’s eyes move from Luna Rebeca to me, and I could see the anger in them for everything she had done to him, but right now he needed to focus on the task at hand and that was getting my mate back and saving the Alphas’ heirs. Releasing his grip, Luna Rebeca fell to the ground, gaspi
Dom’s POV Seeing Rebeca’s wolf now standing before me, fueled a fire inside of me, as I began to see red at the sight of her, and I had no doubt she was a major player in what was happening here. She had accompanied these wolves here for a reason, and something told me that reason was to see my end come to me, but by the look in her eyes, it was clear that she wasn’t expecting to see Alpha Jace with me. Alpha Jace at that moment began to move to his right, and I knew that he was trying to block her from being able to escape to warn Alpha Orion of our arrival, as I remained having eye contact with her, to try and distract her from what he was doing. But Rebeca wasn’t stupid, as she took a step to her left, and I quickly mimicked her, not allowing her to get past me. But her foolishness to think that she could get past me, cost her ground, as Alpha Jace closed in on her. Rebeca was now trapped between the two of us, and she had no means of
Jace’s POV It was clear that Dom was struggling with leaving Katrina like this, but he had his pack’s future to deal with. Plus, my Luna was still there, I am sure in danger at the hands of Alpha Orion, and I was going to make him pay for whatever he had done to her. It infuriated me that it had been her plan to go into Red Moon territory, deceiving me, but like Katrina had said, she was a female Alpha and a true Luna, and she thought she was doing this for the sake of all our packs. With that, I had to swallow my anger, and not take it to heart, because I knew if the shoe was on the other foot, I would have done the same thing. As we had been waiting to hear the outcome of Katrina’s surgery, the other packs had been getting into position, completely surrounding Red Moon pack’s borders. The plan that I had put in place after Alpha Domonic had left was a sure thing, at least it looked that way on paper. With having twelve packs backing us
Dom’s POV We moved our conversation into the house, as Ms. Caroline brought us a cup of coffee, and Damian a cup of hot coco, while we waited for Kit’s surgery to be completed. We only had a few hours before the attack on Red Moon was to take place, but we knew that Damian held valuable information to help us save the Alphas’ heirs since he had been held with them. Turns out that the heirs were being held at Alpha Orion’s estate, and there were twelve boys in total there, each of them with the same names given to them of their fathers. There was no doubt in my mind that this was how Kit had put it all together what was happening there, because she had helped me the night before, making all the calls to the Alphas of the region and saw the complete list of all their names. Now that Alpha Jace and I had this information, Alpha Jace changed the subject and asked Damian, “Did you see another lady with mommy there?” Letting me know that he mu
