Xavier asked me in shock, “You can fight?”
He seemed like he had seen a ghost before him, his eyes staring me down. He growled, his eyes flickering different colours.
I stared at the huge grey wolf in front of me and said, “Not really, better than you though.” the corner of my lips turned up into a smile.
Xavier was enraged and growled, ‘I am your Alpha, you must obey me,’ and pounced on me.
I used my fastest speed to kick him in his gut, forcing him back into human form as he slid on the floor.
Everyone looked at me in shock, their mouths open like they had seen a ghost, and he staggers, as he holds his ribs.
I take my time fixing my dress.
“What are you?” I heard someone murmur in the crowd.
My lawyer said, “Katrina’s last name is Snow, and the Snow Pack has always been known for their warriors.”
A sense of pride in his voice when he says that. I take my time staring at my nails.
Xavier stood up and rushed towards me. “If you are so capable, why didn’t you say so?” His eyes flickered as I walked to the table, grabbing the papers before me.
I tore up the pile of contracts and threw them at him. “Take a guess.”
Whatever they were offering me was an insult to everything I had done for this pack. Fifty per cent? I wanted it all.
I wanted everything for myself.
Mrs. Blackwood came over and shouted at me, “You vicious bitch, you deceived us! All along, you lied to us!”
She raised her hand to me as I grabbed it, pushing her away from me
“No. I didn’t lie to you, Mother. I tried to be the daughter-in-law I thought you deserved”
“Get out of the Blackwood pack. Take the rejection now,” she shouted, throwing a fit.
As if this pack was anything without
I said to Mrs. Blackwood, “Do you think that if I want to take what is mine, any of your Blackwood people can stop me? Not even your bravest men stand a chance against me”
Mrs Blackwood said, “Do you dare? If you dare to take anything from our pack, I will sue you, and I am not afraid to go to the Alpha King! To provoke the Alpha in the pack is a serious offence. You have betrayed the pack today! Guard! Tie her up now!”
I almost laugh as I tilt my head, looking at her, throwing a fit over something like this.
She ordered some men who had fallen into a stance ready to pounce. I glance back at them, a smile on my face.
“No Need.” I stopped them, raising my hand.
“Is this what you want, Xavier?” I asked him. I wanted him to just confirm that he never wanted anything to do with me so that my next actions would not be blamed and he would have no reason to claim I didn’t give him a chance.
“Yes. I don’t want you as my Luna anymore,” he affirmed. “Bianca is my mate and the one I love and will always do”
All the hope I was holding on to just vanished, just like that. There was no saving us anymore.
My eyes roamed around the room and it seemed like Mrs. Blackwood was happy with his decision.
“I, Katrina Snow, accept your rejection. From this day forward, I have no connection with you.” I turned to Xavier who was standing shocked.
Did he think I would never accept his rejection?
Excruciating pain all over my body leaned against the table for balance while he staggered back.
The two of us, at that moment, felt that our mate bond had been completely broken.
‘I was ready for battle,’ I inwardly thought and my wolf added, ‘I will always be by your side’.
Just then, while I tried to process what just happened, the man I had put everything on hold for so that I could be his perfect wife, but rejected me without thinking twice?
The Alpha King’s Beta arrived with an entourage, four men behind him, all dressed in black and their heads lowered down.
He, on the other hand, was dressed in black and red armour. Muscles ripple through the vest he wore.
He stares down at Xavier and then back at me. “Luna Katrina had initiated a plea, and Alpha King’s verdict is ready.”
He didn’t even waste time on formalities or greetings. It’s like the man was on borrowed time.
Mrs. Blackwood excitedly said a smirk on her face, “It must be that bitch who objected to your affair with Bianca and asked Alpha King to reject your marriage. This angered the Alpha King. She will be punished!”
The old hag seemed too happy to get rid of me. It’s like she had been waiting for a moment like this. Makes me wonder what I did to make her hate me like this.
Mrs Blackwood said haughtily, “Beta Ryan, please tell Alpha King that my son has rejected Katrina and she is no longer a member of our pack.”
The King’s Beta, Ryan, asked coldly, “Has Alpha Xavier already rejected and banished your Luna?”
Xavier said, “Yes. Katrina defied my authority in the pack and showed no respect for my mother or elders. Today, in front of the lawyer and two witnesses from the pack, I have rejected her.”
At this, Beta Ryan smiled slightly, but the smirk quickly faded just as fast as it came, walking towards me.
He said, “Blackwood and Snow are two very prestigious packs, and the Alpha King does not want you to fall out. A verdict has been reached on this matter. One that will satisfy both packs.”
I swallowed hard, my heart racing as I looked at him. I hoped that for old times’ sake, the alpha king would grant my request.
“Katrina Snow, this is the verdict signed by the Alpha King and the Supreme Judge. I will now announce the result.”
I stood alone in the corner, watching them. For a moment, I remembered the vow Xavier made to me before he left.
He said, “Kat, wait for me. When I return safely, I will spend the rest of my life with you, enjoying every moment with you”
I was a fool in love.
I looked into his grey-blue but sparkling eyes back then and said, “I will wait. I don’t care how long it will take. I will wait for you, my love. I will take care of your mother and the pack.”
I believed each of his lies back then
What a joke.
I walked up to Beta Ryan and knelt on one knee. “The Snow Pack accepts any decision made by Alpha King.” I was still worried about whether the Alpha King would support me or not. After all, he and I...had a complicated history.
But no matter what the verdict is, today I have to leave Blackwood.
“Alpha King’s verdict is as follows...”
Katrina’s point of view“Snow pack’s Alpha Patrick was a great hero. The male members of the Snow family all died defending our borders, leaving only Katrina Snow, their only surviving daughter. Therefore, the responsibility and authority to rebuild the Snow Pack rests with Katrina, and the mate she chooses can take over as Snow Pack’s newest Alpha.” He says, his eyes roaming around the room.I can feel my chest pounding as fast as I look at him. I have never looked forward to something like the way I was looking forward to this verdict.“Please let it be a verdict freeing me,” I prayed inwardlyI broke down in tears, Father, Brother, I will rebuild Snow Pack. Whenever I think of what my family had to go through, I can’t help but break down in tears. My mother-in-law muttered, “If there is no rejection, then wouldn’t it be logical for Xavier to merge Snow Pack and become the Alpha of both packs?”She interrupted before he could even finish giving his ruling.Goddess, this woman! She ju
Xavier’s Point of ViewWords. Meaningless words were all that Katrina had told me.The last memory of me and her in our bedroom lingered on my mind.“I will wait. I will take care of your mother and the pack. And I promise to wait for you for as long as I will,” I remember what she said tenderly to me before we mated, she said, lying in my arms.“I Love you so much, Xavier Blackwood, and I always will.” She had said to me.But she lied. She lied to me.“Are you done rejecting her? Did you manage to take away at least half of her assets?” Bianca looked at me expectantly, bringing me back from a train of thoughts.I never realised that in just two years, Katrina’s traces were everywhere in the Pack.I lowered my head thinking of how everything went down when they started taking everything that was in her name. Was she ready to leave me from the beginning? Why were things insured in her name?I lowered my head, rubbing my hands together as she stood there with her arms folded.Bianca said
Katrina’s point of viewThe wedding scene in Blackwood differed from what I had imagined. It wasn’t like how I had expected it.“Luna, a marriage blessed publicly by Alpha King should have been attended by many powerful guests. Why only these Black Fang are soldiers attending Luna’s ceremony? No one from Blackwood or any Alpha from the other Packs is here?” Thelma asked me as we arrived on the ceremonial grounds where the wedding was taking place.I held on tight to my clutch, my eyes roaming around the place.“Moreover, neither the bride nor the groom are here,” Thelma added.I only hope Xavier didn’t trick me into coming here, I thought inwardly”Luna Katrina.” Amy, Beta Luke’s wife, shouted immediately as she saw us walk into the banquet hall. She was one of the few people who helped me once the time I was leaving, and I will always be grateful that she was brave enough to stand up to Xavier.“Just call me ‘Katrina’ now.” I corrected her, my eyes roaming around the hall. She bows h
Katrina’s Point of View“Your invitation was delivered to my house. I have a clear conscience, so what’s there to be afraid of?” Xavier lowered his head, afraid to look at me, Bianca by his arm.Bianca provoked, “Call me Luna Bianca.” Smirking as she says that.I could feel my wolf sage, trying to surface and give Bianca a piece of her mind, but she can be so unpredictable.‘Easy tiger’ I linked to her before I decided to respond to Bianca“Only you are eager to be Blackwood’s Luna, and no one else cares. I wish you a fortunate marriage, and I hope you two will be bound together so that you won’t cause any more harm to others.” I sarcastically said to her, and she let out a low growl, clenching her fist.About to come for me, as Xavier looked away from her.“Relax Bianca. You don’t want to start having wrinkles, it’s too early. Smile a little. It’s your wedding after all” I smirked before turning on my heel and making my way out of the banquet hall with Thelma. I was anxious to confir
Katrina’s Point of View“I swear to the moon goddess and I am willing to vouch for the reputation of my family with the truth of this information!” I bowed my head, waiting for him to say something to me.Cassian angrily threw away the encrypted letter in his hand, pacing around the roomI guess sage spoke too soon about this man. This isn’t the kind of man we need as a mate.I flinched but tried to remain calm as I could be.He didn’t believe me? Maybe I should have thought through this before storming here the way I did. I shouldn’t have done it, I should have waited.I clenched my fists tight. I could feel the nails digging into my palms, my heart racing as I looked at him through my lashes.“Nonsense!” he growled, walking towards me, a powerful aura radiating off him even as he came closer to me.“Please Believe me. I got this Intel verified by one of the best people in the field,” I pleaded with him as he scoff shaking his head.‘Tell me that person’s name. I will ask them myself
Katrina’s Point of ViewThe next day, Thelma was very worried when she heard that I had been escorted back by Alpha King’s guards last night. They even made sure I was in my room before they went back and started guarding me outside.“Luna, what’s going on?”I paced as I pondered in my room, biting my lower lip as I lifted my head to look at her. She came running first thing in the morning when she got word of what happened to me. “Alpha King has someone watching me every day now, but I have something important that I must do and I need to leave the pack.” I said to her as she raised her eyebrow.‘Maybe he just doesn’t want you to get hurt,’ Sage added‘Or maybe he has something to do with this’ I countered. I don’t understand with her obsession with him, but then again, sage can be like that for handsome men‘I’m not!’ She retorted.‘Yes. You are. You will not reason as long as there’s a handsome face in front of you,’ I retorted. She is quite the opposite of me.She is sassy and
Katrina’s Point of View‘Kat!’ He anxiously came over to try to hold my hand, but I avoided him by pouring myself a cup of coffee, moving away from him, and leaving him standing there all by himself. He paused for a moment not to insist, and then said, “Kat, my mother has had a stroke! I can’t get Doctor Andrea to come and treat her! And I can’t afford that expensive medicine she needs! Those bastards just want to make things difficult for me. I don’t know what to do.” He complained while I sipped on the coffee, not bothering to give him some. ‘Oh, he has guts!’ Sage surfaced ‘Coming here and trying to get you to help his mother?’ She scoffs, rolling her eyes.‘He only wants what you can give him such a greedy man,’ she retortedIt was now that I was seeing that Xavier was more brawn than brain. Such a sad sight to see.Glad I dodged a bullet when he married Bianca. They deserve each other,I knew they wouldn’t be able to afford him after all the expensive treatments were paid for
Katrina's Point of viewI am free in the wild; I have been trapped in Luna’s life for so long that I almost forgot who I am.I forgot how it felt to feel the air blow through my hair, or the adrenaline rush when I’m fighting for my life.Five days later, I drove to the front line of the southern battlefield and the crescent pack.I pulled over in front of the first gate a few warning shots fired, making me stop the car as I heard grunts and sounds of boots My eyes roamed around, wondering what I was thinking of coming here in the middle of the night. I’m sure they must think I’m some intruder.I wanted to step out, but what stopped me were a dozen well-trained wolves, their fierce eyes shining even in the dark of a moonless night.Low growls and howls fill my ears as I sigh heavily. The only light shining is that of my car and the spotlights. Some pointed their guns at me, while some of them were still in their wolf form. Lights flashed at me as I sighed heavily, covering my eyes. The
Lucius’s point of view‘Make sure you tell her this time.’ My wolf Zane said as I looked at the door Bianca had just walked through.‘No. She can handle herself’ I said, clenching my fists.‘She can, but last time she was furious because you did not tell her. I could tell from the way her aura’ he advises, but I block him out. After Bianca left, Captain Archer asked me, “Commander, the White-Coat Warriors have been handed over to Katrina, so why did you agree to Bianca’s request? Nowadays, although there are fewer troublemakers in the army, there is still a lot of private gossip, saying that Katrina Snow is not worthy of the position. If Katrina Snow loses...” he pauses, glancing.“Katrina Snow will not lose,” I say confidently. Even though I have never seen Bianca, I know with Katrina’s ability, she can’t lose like that.Since there are still people in the reinforcements who are dissatisfied with Katrina, and there are people who want to humiliate themselves and act stupidly, then
Bianca’s point of view“No, I must find a way to take back the Elite Warrior!” I thought to myself, biting on my fingernails like I always do when I’m overthinking somethingI needed to speak to Lucius. I know he will be against me if I decide to do it on my own, so I need to get his permission first. I went to Lucius’s room alone but found two men stationed outside his tent. “I demand to see the commander!” I said to them as they looked at each other.“Not now. Come back later” One of them arrogantly dismissed me as I rolled his eyes.“Do it now. I don’t have time to come back tomorrow,” I demanded when Lucius shouted, “Come in!”I entered and found that Lucius was not alone in the pack tent. There were three other captains, but none of them paid any attention to me,“Commander, since you have summoned all the captains to discuss the situation, why didn’t you invite my husband and me to come along?” I asked, my eyes roaming around his private tent, a bed in the corner, a cabinet just
Katrina’s point of viewI finished my training for the day and returned to my tent. I could not keep my mind off that necklace in Lucius’s cabinet.Bianca sneered behind me, “Some people do not even try to pretend. You have ruined the reputation of the Snowpack.”I almost laugh as I turn to look at her. Snowpack? She was worried about the reputation of my pack. How ironic?I turned around and said, “What do you have to do with the reputation of the Snowpack!” Crossing my arms as I raise a brow.“Why are you still pretending to be innocent? I have seen everything. It is only a simple matter for Alpha Lucius to hand over command of the Elite to you,” she says, crossing her arms as she stares me down.I am curious to know if she saw me come out of Lucius’s tent or if it was just her stupid speculations.“Why did you even bother to bring Ben out to play along with you? Do you think that way, the other warriors will be convinced? Do you take everyone for a fool? Do you think people are bli
Katrina’s point of viewTwo days later“So?” Lucius asked me, crossing his arms.I just got back this morning after making my way to the pack. He asked me to check on the details.I looked around the stench of blood filling my nostrils. This tent was so cold and full of bandages.“Um…” I stuttered, not sure I could even manage to sleep in this room. It looks like no one has slept in the bed for days.“Katrina? You said you had something to report?’ he asked me as I nodded my head, swallowing hard.“Well, I do,” I say, shaking my head as he tilts his head, trying to check my face, but my mind is anywhere but here. This place needs someone to clear it up. “Why don’t you let someone learn here?” I turn to him as he sighs heavily, Raising a brow.“Well…” he pauses as he looks at the bandages on the bed and chair. “I don’t think anyone wants a leader who seems to be covered in wounds always,” he says to me, looking away from me. My heart breaks for him because he constantly must deal with
Bianca’s point of viewI stood there with my hands in my pockets watching Benny being beaten to a pulp but no other than Katrina and said disdainfully, “Is that all? Benny would not be a puppet arranged by Lucius; would he be?” I asked Xavier who let out an exasperated sigh like I was irritating him with everything I was saying.“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked him, raising a brow.‘I do not know, Bianca. You have become so obsessed with Katrina that I cannot have a conversation with you without talking about her,’ he complained, putting his hands in his pockets as I watched Katrina try to act like the bigger person.“She is not doing anything to him. She should snap his neck if this is not some show they are putting on,” I added, ignoring him and his little tantrum as I tilted my head, watching him and Katrina.“Right, these people all listen to Lucius. Whoever Lucius tells them to submit to, they will submit to.”“It did not even take her more than ten minutes to get him to y
Lucius’ point of view“What were you thinking?” I snapped at her as she furrowed her eyebrows looking at me.“I am sorry. But are you not the one who asked people to challenge me if they wanted to be appointed captain?” she raises her brows.‘She is right. It was you’ Zane, my wolf added.“I did. But I did not think you would be foolish enough to accept the challenge knowing that you are injured,” I growled. There is a look of confusion on her face as she covers her breasts, but I cannot but notice all the blue marks on her body.“How did you know about—” She pauses when we hear voices coming towards the tents.“That does not matter. You took a fucking risk, which you should not have,” I fumed as he shook her head in disbelief.I was worried about her and the fact that Ben might have realized she was hurt and used that to his advantage.‘She was holding back. We have seen her fight, and that was just nothing’ Zane echoes on as I stared her down.“I am fine. And broken ribs will heal
Katrina’s point of viewI fell in stance as Benny and I circled each other. My fists in front of me. He landed the first blow, and I felt my inside turn as I winced in pain, staggering back.‘Please do not tell me you are going to let an omega beat you’ Sage commented as I tried to gain my composure again.‘Shut up, please. You are not being helpful’ I retorted, starting to circle him again.‘I cannot believe you are going to let him humiliate us like this. I cannot watch this’ She closes her eyes, avoiding watching the little show I was putting on.‘Oh sage, ye of little faith. If we finish it quickly, where is the fun in that?’ I asked her as she glanced back, trying to watch as Benny landed a blow on my face.‘I do not care. Just do not give me the job to heal your bruises because I am not fucking doing it.’ She complained as I threw a punch, and he blew it.He tries to throw a punch with his right hand, but I block it, keeping his hand occupied. I do a back flip, kicking him
Bianca’s point of viewA smile curled up on my lips seeing how Katrina was cornered today.‘Let’s see how you get out of this one’ I thought, crossing my arms as she looked around. Was she hoping that her prince charming would come in and rescue her? I was curious to know what she would do now that he wasn’t there. But I was happy that Dave successfully convinced all these men to challenge Katrina.Dave had been spreading rumours among the White-Coat Warriors, maliciously undermining Katrina’s authority. This was it.I saw this from afar and said with a smile, “It seems that someone is already dissatisfied and wants to challenge Katrina.”I said, tilting my head; I glanced at Xavier wondering what he was thinking. I saw him clench his jaws as he watched everything unfold.“S is good at Elite combat. I wonder how Katrina will lose shamefully,” I added, hoping I could get a reaction from him.Xavier folded his arms and said, “I’m not sure who will win.”“Husband, are you biased towards
Katrina’s Point of View “Just defeat you?” I raised a brow, looking at Benny, who nodded his head. He is still quite confident I will have to give him that. Everyone seemed so eager to hear my response but I must think it through. A smile on his face as he said, “If you win, we will follow you to the end and never go back on our word!” he reaffirmed as I sighed heavily. “Why should you challenge her when it was the King himself who appointed her captain for the warning about the crescent pack?” Joshua stepped up again, trying to defend me, but I did not need another man trying to stand up for me. “Exactly. How do we know it is the king and not Alpha Lucius doing her favours?” Benney asked, He was questioning Lucius’s integrity? The man would never compromise for anything. Why would he suggest something like that? “How dare you question Alpha Lucius? Do you know— “ “Ben Is right. We do not know if it was the king who appointed her. We just need her to prove herself just like C
