Katrina’s Point of View
I had just returned home after my meeting with the alpha king. I can only imagine what is waiting for me.
Xavier kicked open my room with a snarl. “You went to see Alpha King? You went to beg him to revoke Bianca’s Luna ceremony, didn’t you?”
I can’t believe the only thing he’s worried about is his mistress’s ceremony, when there are other things he should be worried about.
I looked at the outraged man very calmly, denying it. “I did not.” My voice is monotone.
There was no point in denying it, since it seemed he already knew what happened. Soon he would see the alpha king in this pack.
Xavier snarled low, “Liar! You said you were going to REJECT me while you were trying to keep me from being with Bianca behind my back, hypocrite!”
It seems that I never really knew this man. I almost want to bust out laughing at how dramatic he is.
I fold my arms, staring him down as he clenches his fists on his sides, approaching where I was standing, his teeth seething as he comes closer, his hands shaking like a possessed man.
“Alpha King didn’t promise anything. Bianca’s Luna ritual would continue as usual…”
Xavier didn’t even let me finish explaining my bit. “I never knew you were so vicious. I can’t believe I felt a little guilty about rejecting you tomorrow. I cannot wait to reject you and banish you tomorrow!” He slammed my door and stormed out of the room.
My mouth fell open as everything finally registered about what he just said to me. He was feeling guilt?
I sniffled back, stroking my wrist as I turned to the door where Thelma was standing.
Thelma witnessed it all and began to sob quietly. “Luna, why are they treating you like this? They did not deserve you.”
She says coming out of the bathroom where she was setting up my bath. I give her a weak smile, taking her hands in my hands. I try to force a smile on my face, but I can feel a sting in my eyes.
I lift my gaze, blinking back my tears.
I comforted her. “Because to them, I am now far less important than the Alpha daughter of the Black Fang Pack. You stay here tomorrow and pack up as soon as possible.”
Thelma said, sniffling back, “Will you be in danger facing Blackwood’s threat alone?”
“Don’t worry, no matter what the alpha king decides, we will leave Blackwood tomorrow, one way or another,” I reassured her, giving her hand a little squeeze.
I was only glad that, despite everything that was happening; I had someone willing to stand by my side.
It was like the people I had paid so much attention to were willing to turn on me, but she was there by my side.
The next day, Blackwood’s Pack House. Everyone is here.
Me, my Beta, who is also my lawyer on the other side of the table while Xavier and Mrs. Blackwood sit on the other side...
He brushes his fingers in his hair. I feel my heart race as I see the tattoos covering his chest, before he clasps his hands on the table and leans forward, looking between me and Charlie, my lawyer.
“Shall we start?” Xavier asked, leaning forward, his voice cold and arrogant.
When did he turn into this man? Did the war change him into this man? Or was he always so cold towards me?
I try to recollect the times I was with him, but of course, sometimes my memory betrays me, so I can recall some of it.
My Beta couldn’t help but sneer at Xavier: “What kind of animal would cheat on his mete and reject his mate to be with his mistress?”
I inhale sharply, closing g my eyes, knowing this is just adding to the fuel. I appreciate he wants to stand up for me, but I can fight my own battles.
Mrs. Blackwood snapped back, “it’s Luna Duet! They will be equal. You say that as if we’d bullied her. Katrina? Have we mistreated you in any way?”
The audacity of her asking me that. They are asking me to be in a tradition that hasn’t existed for centuries.
“Of course you didn’t. You just turned your back on me and fell in love with Gamma from the more powerful pack. For the past year, my fortune has kept all the Backwoods covered in sustenance and supplies, and I have spent my funds to pay for Mrs Blackwood’s expensive medical bills. Who would mistreat me? But now you will cast me out of your pack. Because of her?” I retorted, not even able to utter her name.
Just the mere thought of her sends me on edge. I hate her so much, but I also hate the alpha king for allowing this.
I can’t believe he was once a family friend.
“Before you were married, your mother signed a prenup for you. All your prenuptial assets, after you become Luna, are to be managed by the Blackwood Pack. You will be stripped of everything now that you are no longer a Luna. The cost of your food, your clothing and your accommodation with the Backwoods for this year, we will not be coming to you for that. Count yourself lucky!” She added,
I stroked my knee under the table. It was then that I suddenly understood. Blackwood was bullying me because I was alone and had no one to back me up. They wanted to make Bianca the Luna of their pack, but they also craved the wealth I had brought to the Blackwood pack over the past year. It wasn’t that they wanted me.
I trembled with rage, tapping my leg under the table.
This was why they had approached my seriously ill mother to ask for my hand in marriage back then! This was always their plan.
I felt bile coming up my throat as I stared down at the people before me. To think I would have easily laid down my life for heirs?
Calm Kitty. I told myself as I narrowed my eyes, staring at Xavier who seemed to be in a hurry to get rid of me.
I asked Xavier “I respect you and Bianca for your bravery in the war. So I have to ask you, do you think it is fair that you took my pre-marriage property and left me penniless?”
I sit back in my chair, staring him down as I wait for another lie to leave his lips.
Xavier was silent and avoided my gaze.
“Then we’ll split the family fortune fifty-fifty. If you don’t like it, you can complain to Alpha King. Let’s see if what I claim is reasonable.” He offered me as I swallowed hard, glancing at my lawyer hoping this was a friendly offer,
I deserved more for what I had to endure. But because he thinks he can treat me like I’m worthless. I was going to demand more.
My lawyer shouted angrily, “How dare you be so arrogant! How did Blackwood get to where it is today if it hadn’t been using up the Snow Pack wealth? Without the Katrina’s fortune, how would you be able to afford to fund your army?”
I knew that I had done a lot for this pack, but now looking at it. I realised I’m the reason Blackwood Pack is where it is today.
“If you guys disagree, go to Alpha King and sue me for all I care,” Xavier answered arrogantly, ignoring the fact that I was once the woman he promised to move the earth for.
“Stop stalling! Reject this broad, now!” Mrs. Blackwood chimed in. I pursed my lips together, fighting back my tears, and I scoffed, shaking my head as she turned to Xavier.
What was it that Bianca had that I lacked? I inwardly asked myself as I stared her down.
This was the woman we sacrificed so much for so that she could be here today, but she had the nerve to speak to me like this.
She acted like I was the intruder meddling in Xavier’s marriage, yet I was legally his wife.
“I, Xavier Blackwood, reject you, Katrina Snow, as my mate.”
He didn’t give me time to prepare, as the drilling pain covered me. I bite my lower lip to bleed and endure the pain. I closed my eyes, holding tight to my dress, trying to stay as strong as possible.
“Accept my rejection! This is an agreement for you to leave the Pack and consent to an equal split of your family fortune. Sign it now, and you and I will be done with it! Otherwise, I will have to banish you as a member of my Pack as an Alpha!” Xavier growled as a smile tugged at my lips.
What kind of monster was this man that he would demand something like this? I fought back my tears while feeling excruciating pain, my insides feeling like they were being turned inside out.
“Xavier,” I said pleadingly in a whisper.
I was in so much pain, but he didn’t even bother to look at me. It was like he just couldn’t wait to get this over with.
“Kat, just sign the documents. I will let you keep half of what you came with. Considering that we have provided shelter and security for your people for years now”
I gasped, a lump forming in my throat.
“You must be joking, right? Surely this has never been about what I can bring to this pack, right?’ I asked him, my eyes filling with tears as she sat back in the chair, smiling as he shrugs his shoulder.
I took a deep breath as I looked at the stack of agreements with all the things they were demanding. Is this all they cared about? His eyes held no remorse for me.
“Did you ever love me?” I finally manage to ask him.
“Enough! Just sign the documents!” He slammed his hand on the table, startling me
Fighting back my tears, while clenching tight to my knee for strength, I arched my back, looking into his eyes.
“Xavier” I whispered to him, but he held my gaze. The man I once loved wasn’t there.
The man sitting in front of me just wanted what I could give him. He wanted what belonged to me.
‘’Then make me sign it. I dare you.”
My lips turned into a smile, making Xavier glance at his mother briefly before turning to me. He looks like he has seen a ghost.
“Whatever tricks you’ve got up your sleeve, I have means to get you to sing them.” He sneered, leaning over the table as I chuckled softly, looking into his eyes.
I broke a pen with one hand. “I want to know if Alpha Xavier, who is famous on the battlefield, lives up to his name.” I said, pushing the files away from me.
Xavier turned into a wolf angrily lunging at me. I dodged as fast as I could and kicked the wolf into the wall, fixing up my dress as I tilted my head, watching him shift back into his human form.
Xavier howls in shock. “How the hell did you just do that?”
Xavier asked me in shock, “You can fight?”He seemed like he had seen a ghost before him, his eyes staring me down. He growled, his eyes flickering different colours.I stared at the huge grey wolf in front of me and said, “Not really, better than you though.” the corner of my lips turned up into a smile.Xavier was enraged and growled, ‘I am your Alpha, you must obey me,’ and pounced on me.I used my fastest speed to kick him in his gut, forcing him back into human form as he slid on the floor.Everyone looked at me in shock, their mouths open like they had seen a ghost, and he staggers, as he holds his ribs.I take my time fixing my dress.“What are you?” I heard someone murmur in the crowd. My lawyer said, “Katrina’s last name is Snow, and the Snow Pack has always been known for their warriors.”A sense of pride in his voice when he says that. I take my time staring at my nails.Xavier stood up and rushed towards me. “If you are so capable, why didn’t you say so?” His eyes flickered
Katrina’s point of view“Snow pack’s Alpha Patrick was a great hero. The male members of the Snow family all died defending our borders, leaving only Katrina Snow, their only surviving daughter. Therefore, the responsibility and authority to rebuild the Snow Pack rests with Katrina, and the mate she chooses can take over as Snow Pack’s newest Alpha.” He says, his eyes roaming around the room.I can feel my chest pounding as fast as I look at him. I have never looked forward to something like the way I was looking forward to this verdict.“Please let it be a verdict freeing me,” I prayed inwardlyI broke down in tears, Father, Brother, I will rebuild Snow Pack. Whenever I think of what my family had to go through, I can’t help but break down in tears. My mother-in-law muttered, “If there is no rejection, then wouldn’t it be logical for Xavier to merge Snow Pack and become the Alpha of both packs?”She interrupted before he could even finish giving his ruling.Goddess, this woman! She ju
Xavier’s Point of ViewWords. Meaningless words were all that Katrina had told me.The last memory of me and her in our bedroom lingered on my mind.“I will wait. I will take care of your mother and the pack. And I promise to wait for you for as long as I will,” I remember what she said tenderly to me before we mated, she said, lying in my arms.“I Love you so much, Xavier Blackwood, and I always will.” She had said to me.But she lied. She lied to me.“Are you done rejecting her? Did you manage to take away at least half of her assets?” Bianca looked at me expectantly, bringing me back from a train of thoughts.I never realised that in just two years, Katrina’s traces were everywhere in the Pack.I lowered my head thinking of how everything went down when they started taking everything that was in her name. Was she ready to leave me from the beginning? Why were things insured in her name?I lowered my head, rubbing my hands together as she stood there with her arms folded.Bianca said
Katrina’s point of viewThe wedding scene in Blackwood differed from what I had imagined. It wasn’t like how I had expected it.“Luna, a marriage blessed publicly by Alpha King should have been attended by many powerful guests. Why only these Black Fang are soldiers attending Luna’s ceremony? No one from Blackwood or any Alpha from the other Packs is here?” Thelma asked me as we arrived on the ceremonial grounds where the wedding was taking place.I held on tight to my clutch, my eyes roaming around the place.“Moreover, neither the bride nor the groom are here,” Thelma added.I only hope Xavier didn’t trick me into coming here, I thought inwardly”Luna Katrina.” Amy, Beta Luke’s wife, shouted immediately as she saw us walk into the banquet hall. She was one of the few people who helped me once the time I was leaving, and I will always be grateful that she was brave enough to stand up to Xavier.“Just call me ‘Katrina’ now.” I corrected her, my eyes roaming around the hall. She bows h
Katrina’s Point of View“Your invitation was delivered to my house. I have a clear conscience, so what’s there to be afraid of?” Xavier lowered his head, afraid to look at me, Bianca by his arm.Bianca provoked, “Call me Luna Bianca.” Smirking as she says that.I could feel my wolf sage, trying to surface and give Bianca a piece of her mind, but she can be so unpredictable.‘Easy tiger’ I linked to her before I decided to respond to Bianca“Only you are eager to be Blackwood’s Luna, and no one else cares. I wish you a fortunate marriage, and I hope you two will be bound together so that you won’t cause any more harm to others.” I sarcastically said to her, and she let out a low growl, clenching her fist.About to come for me, as Xavier looked away from her.“Relax Bianca. You don’t want to start having wrinkles, it’s too early. Smile a little. It’s your wedding after all” I smirked before turning on my heel and making my way out of the banquet hall with Thelma. I was anxious to confir
Katrina’s Point of View“I swear to the moon goddess and I am willing to vouch for the reputation of my family with the truth of this information!” I bowed my head, waiting for him to say something to me.Cassian angrily threw away the encrypted letter in his hand, pacing around the roomI guess sage spoke too soon about this man. This isn’t the kind of man we need as a mate.I flinched but tried to remain calm as I could be.He didn’t believe me? Maybe I should have thought through this before storming here the way I did. I shouldn’t have done it, I should have waited.I clenched my fists tight. I could feel the nails digging into my palms, my heart racing as I looked at him through my lashes.“Nonsense!” he growled, walking towards me, a powerful aura radiating off him even as he came closer to me.“Please Believe me. I got this Intel verified by one of the best people in the field,” I pleaded with him as he scoff shaking his head.‘Tell me that person’s name. I will ask them myself
Katrina’s Point of ViewThe next day, Thelma was very worried when she heard that I had been escorted back by Alpha King’s guards last night. They even made sure I was in my room before they went back and started guarding me outside.“Luna, what’s going on?”I paced as I pondered in my room, biting my lower lip as I lifted my head to look at her. She came running first thing in the morning when she got word of what happened to me. “Alpha King has someone watching me every day now, but I have something important that I must do and I need to leave the pack.” I said to her as she raised her eyebrow.‘Maybe he just doesn’t want you to get hurt,’ Sage added‘Or maybe he has something to do with this’ I countered. I don’t understand with her obsession with him, but then again, sage can be like that for handsome men‘I’m not!’ She retorted.‘Yes. You are. You will not reason as long as there’s a handsome face in front of you,’ I retorted. She is quite the opposite of me.She is sassy and
Katrina’s Point of View‘Kat!’ He anxiously came over to try to hold my hand, but I avoided him by pouring myself a cup of coffee, moving away from him, and leaving him standing there all by himself. He paused for a moment not to insist, and then said, “Kat, my mother has had a stroke! I can’t get Doctor Andrea to come and treat her! And I can’t afford that expensive medicine she needs! Those bastards just want to make things difficult for me. I don’t know what to do.” He complained while I sipped on the coffee, not bothering to give him some. ‘Oh, he has guts!’ Sage surfaced ‘Coming here and trying to get you to help his mother?’ She scoffs, rolling her eyes.‘He only wants what you can give him such a greedy man,’ she retortedIt was now that I was seeing that Xavier was more brawn than brain. Such a sad sight to see.Glad I dodged a bullet when he married Bianca. They deserve each other,I knew they wouldn’t be able to afford him after all the expensive treatments were paid for
Katrina’s point of viewI walked out of Lucius tented and all I could hear were moans. Everyone turned to look at me as I clenched my hand tight, thinking of what Bianca and Xavier were doing. The days I spent back at Blackwood before I left, I heard this.“Fuck... Couldn’t they wait for a few minutes or try to fucking put the shield up?” Theo muttered as he came to stand next to me.“Or I could fucking put them in their place,” Joshua suggested coming to stand on my other side, folding his arms.I shook my head before making my way out of camp, trying to find myself something to do. I wasn’t going to stand here and listen to them moaning.‘Shame. He rejected her and he comes to fuck his mate in the face’ Murmurs filled behind me as I tried to find myself in the sparring grounds.‘Maybe she wasn’t that good in bed’ some man said. Judging from the accent, he had to be from Black Fang.‘Rumour has it. She is like an old lady. Her waist doesn’t move for shit,’ one of them laughed.‘I hea
Xavier’s Point of View“How dare he? How dare he throw us out because of her?” Bianca was fuming when we left the tents. I sighed heavily.I was getting exhausted by her constant complaints. And now she dared to question Lucius?“We came to help. Why would you try to go against Alpha Lucius’s command?” I asked her as we walked out of the command tent.“We are the ones who brought the White-Coat Warriors here! Why should Katrina be in charge?” She snapped, pacing around, but I just stared at her. This was a losing battle she was getting into. Alpha Lucius isn’t someone who takes kindly to insubordination. He loathes people who don’t take well to command.“Alpha Lucius is biased!” accused.“Watch your mouth, Bibi. Most men here would fall on a sword for that man.” I sneered through gritted teeth as I went closer to her and she looked at me like I was crazy.“I’m sure you must be happy to see her again, right? I’m sure that’s why you decided to plead so you could be with her”“Not this a
Katrina’s point of view“How dare he! Blackwood is so hypocritical, bullying you like this and putting you through so much misery!’‘ After hearing the whole story, Lucius angrily crushed the glass in his hand.I raised a brow looking at him, clenching tight to the glass in his hand.“Not the kind of reaction we expected, right?” Sage was just as shocked as I was, her amber orbs, widened as I lowered my head.“How could he even stand there acting like you are the one who betrayed him?” He was fuming. I have seen Lucius furious, but this was new to me.I didn’t know how to react to this. “That’s new, really”“It wasn’t that traumatic after all” I sheepishly smiled, wiping the tears from the slits of my eyes and looking at him as he got up from the chair, pacing about in the roomI had thought that the scars I would carry with me for the rest of my life would never heal. After I revealed what had happened, I felt a lot better.“Maybe it’s because we only did it because of duty,” Sage sug
Katrina's Point of View‘Kat, why didn’t you tell us about such an important matter?’ one of the captains said sadly. I remember that he used to come to visit my father a lot.I lower my head in shame, stroking my hands together. It felt so awkward in here after that incident with Xavier and Bianca.I don’t know if they really left or are just hanging outside the tent to cool down a bit, but I would honestly prefer it if they left.“How did you carry on all by yourself?” Joshua asked me as I smiled softly, looking at them.It has been had the past few years, but I don’t need anyone’s pity.“After your father and brother died in battle, even your mother and everyone in Snow were gone. How were you going to rebuild a Pack all by yourself?” Theo asked, concern in his voice as he walked towards me.I held back my tears and lowered my head. If my family were still alive, who would dare treat me like this? I would rather never grow up and just be the Kat in my family’s eyes.“And what the f
Lucius’s point of viewI thought that the sacrifice of her father and brother was already her greatest tragedy, but I never imagined that her entire pack was slaughtered and her mate went back on his oath to wed someone else. How has she gotten through this?I didn’t expect things to turn out like this.I saw Bianca pounce on Kat, and before I knew it, I was in front of Katrina. Trying to get Bianca off Katrina, but she threw another punch.“That’s enough!” I ordered, trying to get them to stop her from attacking Katrina. I couldn’t just stand by anymore. If she tries to hurt her again, don’t think Zane would stand byXavier took a step forward too “Get your fucking hands off my mate!” He growled, pushing me off Bianca who was pouncing on Katrina. He threw a punch, but I blocked it. And we locked our fists in a stand-off to protect our mates. “Rip off their heads for touching her,” Zane, my wolf, growled inwardly.Xavier threw another punch in an attempt to punch me, but I blocked it
Katrina’s Point of View“Alpha Xavier, if you don’t want your Luna to make a show like a clown here, you’d better take her away now!” I said to Xavier, but I was pointing at Bianca.“How dare you give me orders?” Xavier furiously shouted, coming at me, but I stood my ground. That day of my rejection wasn’t lesson enough that he should never come at me like this.Sage was fuming, and clearly, I couldn’t stop her because Bianca had been testing my patience since she walked in there.“Let me rip her apart,” Sage echoes,I can’t stop her because why the hell is Bianca questioning Lucius? She thought I wasn’t capable of anything.Bianca rolled her eyes in disdain. “Katrina Snow, I think it’s you who’s playing the clown here, isn’t it?” She raises a brow and I stride towards her, but Lucius blocks my way before I can get to her.Bianca as well is trying to come at me but Xavier steps forward as well.Lucius and Xavier are now in a standoff like two alphas trying to prove their authority and
C26 Katrina’s point of view “What do you mean everyone in the Snow Pack is dead?” Joshua asked in disbelief, looking like he was going to rush up and rip Bianca’s throat out in the next second. “Your family is dead?’ Captain Theo also asked me, tears filling my eyes. A lump formed in my throat and all I could do was just nod my head. “Katrina, why did you come here? Do you want your father’s old friend to stand up for you?” Xavier asked me coldly, pulling Bianca behind him as she smirked. Was this the man who I married and left everything for? Lucius walked over to me and asked me with concern, “What happened?” His eyes roamed all over my face, his hand on my shoulder. I stifle a sob as I look at Xavier, the words about how he never loved me still linger on my mind. I can’t believe this is the man I had risked everything for. “Katrina!” Lucius shakes my shoulder I could only hold back my tears. “It was my fault” I started lowering my head as Lucius furrowed his eyebrows. “Wh
Katrina’s point of view“You’re the ones who traded war merits for the Luna Duet, leaving me no choice but only accept the rejection to make your happy lovebirds whole.” I sneered, clenching tight to my fist.Sage was ready to go all crazy, and I was trying to hold her back. Lucius stared me down, but I would deal with my lies later, not nowIt’s been a while, Bianca is still so good at reversing right and wrong. But she forgot. This isn’t Blackwood, and I won’t allow myself to get into that kind of situation again!“Luna duet?” Joshua asked, eyes widening.“Go on Bianca. Why don’t you tell everyone here how you wanted Luna duet??” I asked her as she clenched her fists as well, trying to come for me, but Xavier held her back.“I earned it! I had every right to demand it. I was being too kind to you by offering you Luna duet.” She smiled on her face, looking at everyone.“It was a fucking insult, Bianca” I growled, taking a step closer to her, but Lucius quickly shifted his body, almo
Bianca’s point of view“What? They were talking about Katrina? When was this bitch deployed here? Is this why we were not hearing from her, or what Xavier was trying to be sweet with me?Because he couldn’t be with her? I clenched my jaw as she walked up to me.She walked up in front, from wherever she was standing.“Alpha Xavier, Luna Bianca, we’ve finally met your reinforcements. Good for you!” The woman who came up to me was Katrina Snow, whom I hadn’t seen for a long time.A fucking smile on her face.My blood boiled just seeing her face. She had her hair falling freely, dressed in leather pants and leather boots with a crop top.She looked great. Why was she here? So, what they just complimented is Katrina, and they thought Xavier’s Luna was still here, not me?!Everyone paused and no one spoke. She crossed her arms, raising her brows. I stared her down, seeing her she had toned up her body.“Yes. The alpha king thought it was wise to send us as reinforcements considering what we
