I'm not sure if anything I say will help her, so I stay quiet. The fact that she asked if I felt anything means she didn't, which makes no sense at all.

Then again, I don't know about mates and bonds, so I can't really say much and be sure I'm right. I'm just confused, as they explained it like mates and such had an unbreakable bond.

Ours appears weak, or at least in my mind, it feels like it is.

"Your brothers explained that me leaving would kill us both," I whisper, and she nods.

"It's your choice, Quinn. If you want to leave, you're free to," she whispers, and I see the pain in her eyes at the thought of it. She will be hurt if I leave.

Sure, she said it was my choice, but it's not. It's hers. I've nothing in life, so leaving and living alone is not a scary thought for me. Then there's the fact that I never knew about mates and bonds.
