Chapter 39

After Allison's little side of the story, we all left the hospital to give her some rest. The only useful thing she said was the unknown entity we have been trying to find.

“Do you buy her story?” I asked both of them. I wasn't worried about her overhearing our conversation. We asked the doctor to give her a sedative while her body worked on healing itself.

“Only the part about the girl. Everything else is to be determined.” Jason answered.

“Knowing Allison, her injuries could be self-inflicted.” Josh added. At least they weren't buying into her spawned tale.

“I'll have Carlton watch her for some days to see if she does anything suspicious,” Jason said.

“I'm guessing training's being cancelled?” I turned to Josh in question. He nodded his head so fast, it looked like he was glad Allison interrupted our schedule.

“Please try to show your happiness a little more would you” I rolled my eyes at him.

“Home?” Jason asked. He made a conscious effort to hide his smile. “Yeah” I whispered.
