-Karen-I woke up later to Conor holding me tightly in his arms. He was asleep and the fire was slowly dying. It was nighttime. I must have slept all day. That really sent me off the cliff. -Karen-I tried to scramble away from him, but he pounced on me and started tickling me all over again. I yelled for him to stop but he pinned me to the bed and tickled me for thirty minutes until we were laughing and breathing so hard, we coughed repeatedly. -Karen-Now that I was going to break out of my comfort zone, I nodded and left the main room quietly. -Karen-I immediately looked over unsure what to think about that. He howled with laughter as I stood there trying to think of what to say or do. “How about chicken? I wanna shake it up today. I woke up to Joanne sitting next to me and Bart writing at the table. “Kay! Hey honey, how’re you feeling?” Joanne asked softly. She brushed my bangs out of my face and hugged me. I heard him get up and come over to us.“Conor and I decided to sedate you so if you feel off, that’s why.” Bart explained as he placed the metal disc on my chest. “Breathe deeply.” I complied as he moved the disc around.“Is that why I feel heavy?” I asked sleepily. Bart and Joanne both nodded. “Oh…” I rolled over to Joanne and snuggled up to her. “It’s okay Karen. We will protect you no matter what. -Karen-The next day I woke up alone but there was a solitary yellow rose under my hand. Attached to the rose was a note: ‘Hey my pretty flower, if you’re up to it, I thought you might like to practice with your crystal. I’m stopping by my father’s study so I might be a little bit late. I can’t wait to see you. Miss you! CWV’. I got up clutching the rose and note to my chest. I quietly opened the door and, Clay, the usual servant stood up and bowed to me. I frowned in reply. “I must show my respect to the Prince’s Mistress, My Lady.” He said pointedly. “With all due respect, you should probably grow accustomed to this. It won’t go away.” I nodded sadly. “Porridge? With berries?” He asked with a warm smile. Oh! Porridge!“Yes please. May I have some milk too? If it’s not too much trouble?” I asked as he started to turn away. “Of course, My Lady.” He bowed politely and left quickly. I shut the door and leaned against it. I inhaled the rose’s sweet aroma and decided to get dressed up.

-Karen-I opened the armoire and picked the first dress I saw. I knew it was a dark shade of violet. I grabbed the closest set of black dress flats. I shut the armoire and ran to the shower. I put my new clothes on the vanity and pulled my clothes off as fast as I could. “In a rush?” Conor asked from the shower.
