-Karen-“No, you are required to stay here in your apartments as per the King’s instructions.” Conor held me tightly as Remus answered. “Now, get out of the way or I’ll push you out of the way.” Remus hissed coldly. Charles lowered his gaze to the ground as the tension rose in the air. The stream of servants emptied the armoire with expedience within about ten minutes. I was holding on to Conor so tightly my knuckles were white. I cowered closer to him as he kissed my forehead. “Augustus, flank him.”Conor looked down at me with a depressed look. “It’s going to be okay honey… I’ll see you soon, Kay.” He kissed my forehead again as I cried. “I promise you- I’ll see you soon.”He reluctantly stepped away as Remus and Augustus approached me menacingly. I don’t care! I’ll fight both of you! “Come on, Princess. Don’t make this harder than it has to be.” I tried to fight viciously as Remus grabbed on to me as carefully as he could. I tried to punch him in the face with my right fist.“Let g
-Karen-“I guess I don’t have a choice but to be. I don’t like being away from him Joanne… Maybe it’s just because it’s been a very long and emotional day.” I whispered fighting against my raging emotions and tears. “I feel like I’m being punished, and I don’t know what I did wrong. Other than just existing.”Thirty minutes later, there was a knock and the door opened. A servant walked in, bowed and handed me a letter. He left as soon as the letter was in my hand. I looked over at Joanne as I turned it over in my hands. A letter? It was unmarked so I opened it. ‘Kay, I love you and I miss you so much! I know it’s only been an hour but it’s far too quiet and I want you back! I can’t wait to see you tomorrow and just hold you. Try not to cry my love. Love you forever, CWV’ I burst into tears as Joanne took the letter and read it. “He is such a sweetie.” She hugged me tightly until I cried myself almost to sleep. Joanne quickly fetched a nightgown and got me changed. The bed in this ro
-Karen-“It’s only day one… You’re a warrior, remember?” He reminded while pulling me to my feet.“A warrior… Not a princess…” I whispered rubbing my face. I can’t do the princess thing. I mean it took hours to learn to glide and I only did it twice. I know I have to learn a lot of other things too.“Think of this as a battle, Karen. You’re training for a new type of fight…” He replied as he picked me up. He walked back to the drawing room. Charles was waiting outside for us. “I’m putting her on bed rest for the remainder of the day due to her extreme stress levels. Maybe we should see about having her lessons done somewhere a little less intimidating. Can you ask the king about that? At least for the first two weeks?”“Absolutely, Doctor Pliktos. I will ask him after I escort Prince Conor back to his apartments. I hope you feel better, Princess Karen.” Charles stated bowing his head respectfully.“Thank you. Tell him I’m so sorry… Please.” I whispered laying my head against Bart’s sh
I nodded quietly and picked up the warm broth and sipped it. I felt the urge to get sick ten minutes after I finished it. I tried to fight it, but I wasn’t able to. Joanne grabbed a trash can and I got sick. Bart brought me some water to rinse my mouth. Robert took the trash can away and returned with a syringe of clear medicine. “Let’s see if this medicine helps calm your stomach, Kay.” Robert said patting my head. “We need to get you better.” He gave me a serious look. The door opened and the king walked in looking irritated. Everyone bowed to him except for me. I just glared hatefully. “Well, you can’t be that sick if you can glare at me so rudely.” He hissed walking over to Conor and I. “Progress report?”“We gave her broth, Majesty but she wasn’t able to hold it down. I have given her some medicine to see if that helps calm her stomach. We will try broth again in the next fifteen minutes.” Robert replied firmly.“I see. Princess Karen-” Zachary commented pointedly. I clenched my
-Karen-“Well, as long as the king says it’s okay, your guard can stay.” Bart replied with a chuckle. “I want you to gain a little bit of weight Karen.” He gave me a serious look. He pulled a small bottle out of his pocket and handed it to me. “This is strength building drink. We made it with chocolate-”I opened the bottle at the word chocolate and downed it. Yummy! “Can I have another one? It was really good.” Chocolate! How did I live without it?! Conor chuckled and kissed my cheek.“I’ll give you another one tomorrow. In the meantime, you should both rest now.” Bart instructed taking the bottle and leaving us alone.I pulled the top blanket up and over us and starting making out with Conor. Oh, I missed this. It only makes me want you that much more! The blanket got pulled off us suddenly. “No making out in the medical ward, you two.” Roger snapped making us both jump. We looked over at him in surprise. He chuckled as he sat down. “I figured that might happen since these rooms hav
-Karen-“Thank you very much for that reprieve, Charles.” Conor responded as I nodded in agreement. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Charles insisted as he bit into an apple. “But now that you’re both back, there are some snacks for you in the basket on the dresser to your left. I looked around and saw Bart and Joanne were gone. “Oh! Conor, I meant to ask you a while ago… But when I had woken up after being asleep for the hibernation period, Joanne and Bart were dancing and you had something in your hands… What was that thing?” I asked as he nodded vigorously.“I’ll go get it.” He replied going back through the door. I heard the main door open and close quickly as Joanne and Bart returned.“Alright. I need to go tend to the king, Princess. It was a pleasure as always.” Charles murmured, kissing my right hand. “You’re catching on quickly and I will make sure to speak highly of your progress. Very good job today.” “Thank you Charles.” I replied happily. He left the room as J
-Karen-“What do you want? Why don’t you just leave us alone?!” I growled trying to fight the pain in my back. “Haven’t you done enough already?!” Just get the hell away from me! And stay away! She laughed. “Don’t be stupid, girl! I plan to kill you eventually. I just am going to play with you for a bit first.” Monica replied as she walked over to the other three with Michael. He pulled out the metal rings and slipped them on his right hand.“Put her down, Monica!” Conor yelled angrily. “And you! What do you think you’re doing Michael?”“Just putting a plan into motion, brother.” Michael answered rolling his shoulder a few times. “I wanted to remind you all about the brass knuckles I have. And to remind you of some other things.“Or else what, Prince Conor? You’re going to kill me?” She mocked walking up to him. “Please! I’m not afraid of you. The only person that could have a chance at saving you right now is a bit chained up…” She looked back at me and waved her hand once and I coul
-Karen-When I woke up, I could see I was in a closed dungeon cell on top of a sparse pile of hay. I felt like I had been beaten severely and my head hurt from a terrible migraine. I went to touch my head and saw I was in shackles. Shackles? Why? And why am I here? I managed to roll on my right side just enough to push myself into a sitting position with my legs crossed under the dress I had been wearing when I was in the armoire room with Conor, Bart and Joanne. I looked down and I was covered in a dark crimson colored substance that was flaking off from my skin. Is this- their blood on me? What happened to them!? It was all over me. It reminded me of the attack when she hurt Conor while we were on the Cliffs of Typher. Michael and Monica must have hurt them all so terribly! What the hell happened after I blacked out?The door slammed open making me jump. The king walked in holding a folder with one of the generals. The door shut and they walked over to me in an intimidating fashion.
