The further I went, the more my thoughts spun wilder as I contemplated whether this would eventually become a success or not. Indeed, I had been pulling myself together and building all the confidence I needed, but now I was within the confines of the building, things were about to get crazy. Several girls, all in line for the same audition I was here for, occupying different angles of the foyer where we now found ourselves, busy with makeup, chit-chatting and practicing weird lines in front of mirrors, feeling like they were already the star of the show. I was sick of it, but… here we go! “I need to use the bathroom, Gwen.” “Sure!” Gwen was still lost in admiring just how grandeur Sun Entertainment was. I couldn’t blame her – this was no joke! “Don’t stray far, Gwen. I’d love you to be there in the audition booth.” I pleaded. Gwen rolled her eyes. “Of course, I’ve got you baby. I’d be right there among the red seats, giving you all the thumbs up you’ll ever need.” “Oh, I love you.” I sighed heavily. “You’ve got this!” She replied with a pat on my shoulder. “Now, go girl! Let’s go.” I hurried to the bathroom, and took a deep breath as I arrived before the mirror, wishing I could pour the cold water across my face, but then I considered my makeup and cursed under my breath. I simply took some water and gargled. Then I practiced my voice, staring at the mirror. “Oh, she sounds like a frog…” My attention was immediately drawn towards the two skinny ladies, looking half naked as they chuckled among themselves. Did they mistake this place for a club or something? An anger swelled within me as one of the girls turned to look at me with a look of disgust as if she was staring at a garbage can. “I’m sorry. Is there something you’d just said that perhaps, I’d like to know?” I asked, trying to understand what her problem was. The lady smirked her lips and drew closer, having the guts to eye me from head to toe. “Yes, darling. I said you croaked, like a frog…” She giggled now with the other two behind her, just enough time for me to launch a blinding blow at her spiteful face and march out of the bathroom as their loud, annoying voices died out behind me. I hated bullies……so much! I hated how Liam would always try to play one joke or the other at me, thinking it was funny, but it wasn't! I wasn't going to let anyone talk to me in that manner. I had more important things to take care of than some crazy girls trying to kill out my morale before it even came. I proceeded into a mini theater where the audition was to take place now and joined the rest of the girls, seated and waiting, unable to simply keep the heck shut. As the girls auditioned, we sat at a different segment of the theater, but I could still see Gwen from where I sat. She managed a confident wave, and I waved back calmly just as I spotted the three godforsaken women from the bathroom as they walked side by side into the theater and spotted me with a frown of rage drawn across their faces. I laughed within me… served her right! She lifted the middle finger at me now and I smirked, reciprocating as they joined the back row of the auditioning women. So, they were here for the audition as well and they had such guts. Let’s see what they were capable of. One of the judges came forward at first and after a brief orientation, an assistant from the company instantly shared a script across to us, highlighting the role we were to portray and then giving us just ten minutes to practice. It was just when the audition was about to begin that I took notice of the judges. Apparently, there were four seats arranged for them but only three were occupied. Where was the fourth judge? One of them, a tall, lean man who introduced himself as Frankenstein, by industry name, did the favor of introducing the judges. “I am Frankenstein, this is Brenda, and over there is Pauline…” He said as he gestured to the friendly-looking women waving back at us. “We want to believe you all know how the industry works. We need your voice, your body language, your gestures, your composition, picturization, pantomimic dramatization, rhythm, you name it… We need all theatrical aspects present in you. I hope you’re ready?” I was not sure, but along with the crowd, I echoed a “Yes.” Then again, I stole a peek at Gwen – always ready, ever there, winking back at me in the funniest way ever. “Great, let the audition begin!” Frankenstein announced. “Sorry sir, and the fourth judge?” I asked impulsively. God, where had I found the courage to do that? I didn’t even see it coming! All I knew was that I had my hand pointing at the empty chair and boom, everyone was staring at me. “Oh! Don’t you worry. He’d be joining us shortly. He is the owner of Sun Entertainment.” Murmurs of blushing girls rose all around me. “He has some business to take care of, but he’d be here. He'll introduce himself when he arrives,” Frankenstein added. Soon, we were all called out. Each girl filed out, row after row. I could see the crazy talents from the different girls, but I was patiently waiting for my turn, my lines running back and forth in my head. Soon, it came to the turn of the girl I had dealt with in the toilet. “I’m Beatrice Shaw…” She introduced herself as she began her audition, and what a mess Beatrice was after all. Soon, everyone within the theater was laughing at just how cringe it got. I wasn’t laughing though; I was more focused on not fucking up my own audition. I cared less about anything else at this point. “Let’s have you, Regina Donovan.” This was it! I came forward. “Good day, I am Regina.” I began and then paused, took a deep breath. Oh goddess help me! I spotted Gwen again and thought I saw her lips mouth the words: “Go girl!” I began my audition, moving more smoothly than I had ever imagined. It was great, I was killing it and I knew it as I saw the smile on the faces of the judges. But there was something pulling my attention and even as I acted, having worked on several concentration exercises, I noticed the figure in the darker parts of the theater, slowly advancing forward, hands in his pocket, watching me with such intensity. Then he was in the light. I froze. Somebody tell me how Lionel was standing right before me at my audition!Regina“Where is she?”My father’s voice boomed out angrily, making me startled. I wished I could be anywhere but here.“I don’t know, Father; she didn’t tell me where she was going,” I replied, my voice trembling with fear. I hated seeing my father looking so pissed and angry. My elder sister, Marcy, had suddenly left the pack without telling anyone where she was going. She was supposed to get married in a few days to Lionel Williams, the renowned cold and heartless Alpha of the Silver Moon pack, but she suddenly disappeared without a word. Our pack, the Moon Jade Pack, had been rivals with the Silver Moon Pack for over a decade. No one knew how two packs that were once close allies became bitter enemies, but that was how it had been until the Silver Moon Pack suddenly proposed a peace treaty. Why would they do that now, after so many years of rivalry? We weren’t threatening them, so why the sudden desire for peace? To make matters worse, they proposed a marriage alliance to seal th
ReginaI stood there, shocked, unable to believe what I had just heard. Maybe he was joking, right? But I could tell from his expression that he clearly wasn't!When I finally regained my composure I exclaimed, “What? Father! What do you mean by that? His substitute Luna? Me? I can’t! Certainly not, Father!”“I have made my decision, Regina. You will become his Luna. Start preparing yourself,” he declared firmly.A chill instantly ran down my spine, causing me to panic. “Father, please, no! I don’t want to! I don’t want to marry Alpha Lionel!”I felt my body weaken as the reality of what he was asking hit me. Before I knew it, hot tears began streaming down my face. “There’s nothing that can be done about this,” my father said, his voice as cold as stone. “You obviously haven’t found your mate, and Marcy has gone to be with hers. You are the only one who can make this alliance happen.”“What did I do to deserve this, Father?” I cried out. “Why are you treating me this way? I’m sorry
Lionel"Come on, man, let's go to the party. You know it will be fun," Ryker, my beta, urged as he tried to convince me into attending a party I had no interest in."I don't want to," I replied flatly."Come on, Lionel, you need to mingle with other ladies before you are officially taken," he insisted, wiggling his eyebrows at me. I glanced at him, resisting the urge to smack that smirk off his face.Yes, I was getting married to the daughter of the Alpha of the Moon Jade Pack, a pack I deeply hated. Our packs had been rivals for more than ten years after an incident, caused by them, that led to my parents' deaths, and the bitterness from that loss had never left me.But I was being forced to bend to the whims of my grandfather, the only family I had left. He'd proposed an alliance with that pack behind my back, and it didn't stop there—he even arranged a marriage. Ralphael Donovan, the Alpha of the Moon Jade Pack, had to be the most shameless man I had ever met. He agreed to marry h
LionelTaking a deep breath, I calmed myself and moved closer to the group. As I approached, the guys turned to face me, and I finally got a clear view of the girl they were harassing. She was breathtakingly beautiful, and I found myself staring in awe."Who are you, and what are you doing here? Leave right this instant and pretend you didn't see anything," the leader of the group snarled, tightening his grip on her waist. It was clear they didn’t recognize me. What a bunch of fools.I stared at his hand, gripping my mate's waist in a possessive manner as if she was his. I growled and without a second thought, I shifted into Lucius, who let out a furious howl, ready to tear them apart. That particular hand he used to hold her waist must go!"Shit! He's an Alpha! Come on, let's get out of here! He's really huge," one of them yelled as they all fled in terror. But their stupid leader hesitated, still holding onto my mate. “It’s good that he foolishly waited; I would make sure to tear t
ReginaGoing to the party was a mistake! It didn't help me feel any better. Gwen tried her best to lift my spirits, but I just wanted to leave and think about my life.I made an excuse and decided to take a walk. I must have wandered too far from the mansion where the party was held, and before I realized what was happening, Richie and his group of friends surrounded me."Richie, what are you doing here?" I asked."Oh, nothing," Richie replied with a smirk. "Just out for a stroll in the forest with my friends, maybe hunt some rabbits, right, guys?" His friends laughed at his weak joke, their laughter making me feel uneasy.I tried to head back to the mansion, but they blocked my way. "Excuse me, Richie, I want to go back.""Come on, Regina, play with us a little before you go. We all came here to have some fun with you, and you're just going to leave?" Richie said as he grabbed my waist painfully and roughly pulled me toward him. I screamed and begged him to let go, but he wouldn’t.W
Regina "I, Lionel Williams, Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack, reject you, Regina Donovan, as my mate." As soon as Lionel said those words, I fell to the ground, screaming in agony. The pain of the broken mate bond was like nothing I’d ever felt- it was like being repeatedly struck by lightning. It came in waves, making it hard to even catch my breath. I felt like I was dying. Gwen wrapped her arms around me, trying to comfort me, but it wasn’t helping. I could hear her sobbing with me, desperately pleading, “Gina, you have to accept the rejection. It’s the only way to stop the pain. Please, Gina, it’s breaking my heart to see you like this.” Marcy and I had always dreamed about finding our mates since we were children, imagining how wonderful it would be. But now, the pain from Lionel’s rejection shattered those dreams, leaving me heartbroken and in endless pain. Why was Marcy blessed with a mate who loved her enough to run away with her, while I was cursed with one who would ra
Regina "Dad, you're not listening to me. Life would be ten times harder if I proceed with this marriage." Tears streamed down my eyes as I knelt, almost bowing while my father sipped on his glass of coffee like there was nothing else he cared about in this world."Dad!" I yelled trying to get his attention and he pivoted to stare at me for a few seconds before clearing his throat and accompanying it with a sigh."Regina, come off it. I've already told you that there's nothing you can do. The marriage is happening." That's exactly what he had repeated to me for like the hundredth time and it seemed sour hearing it from him.I was at loss as I stared at my father. Seriously, he was going to let me go into this marriage without considering what I might be going to face, the hardship and hatred and all."Dad, please listen to me. He rejected me as his mate, there's no way he would love me as Luna." My dad grunted as he dropped the cup of coffee he was sipping on angrily on the table."Ev
Regina "Okay, I understand you want to do this one thing for yourself and that's wonderful. And I absolutely support you, but Sun Entertainment? That's like one of the biggest entertainment companies. I mean, I don't doubt your talents, but I've always known that it's hard to get in there." Gwen said and I nodded, laying back on my bed as I heaved a sigh."At least, I have to try first. Let's focus on the positives." She stared at me for a few minutes before finally agreeing with me and solidifying it with a nod."Now, today has been a long day already. Let's go to sleep." She dived straight into my bed and stared up at the ceiling while I got in right beside her."Thanks to you for interrupting my sleep. I might not be able to go to sleep any longer." I said jokingly while she chuckled and leaned on one side with her palm on her temples."Think of something you love; you'll drift to Lala land before you even realize it. I would have loved to stay up with you and talk about nothing
