"Okay, I understand you want to do this one thing for yourself and that's wonderful. And I absolutely support you, but Sun Entertainment? That's like one of the biggest entertainment companies. I mean, I don't doubt your talents, but I've always known that it's hard to get in there." Gwen said and I nodded, laying back on my bed as I heaved a sigh. "At least, I have to try first. Let's focus on the positives." She stared at me for a few minutes before finally agreeing with me and solidifying it with a nod. "Now, today has been a long day already. Let's go to sleep." She dived straight into my bed and stared up at the ceiling while I got in right beside her. "Thanks to you for interrupting my sleep. I might not be able to go to sleep any longer." I said jokingly while she chuckled and leaned on one side with her palm on her temples. "Think of something you love; you'll drift to Lala land before you even realize it. I would have loved to stay up with you and talk about nothing in particular but I'm too tired for her." I knocked her slightly on her forehead and she winced while I turned off the bedside lamp. "Go to sleep, girl,” I said softly. There was silence between us and in a few minutes, her heavy breathing notified me that she had already slept off. I tossed and turned staring into nothingness for a few hours before sleep took over again and I couldn't be more grateful. ***************** "What are you doing?" Gwen mumbled as she slid into the duvet and covered her face up with it after I tried to wake her up. "It's already seven am, Get your lazy ass up." I pulled the covers over again and she used the pillow to cover her face up. I pulled open the curtains so the brightness would wake her up. Today was such an important day for me and for it to move smoothly, I needed my best friend. "Just five more minutes." Her voice was drowsy, and I sighed with my hands akimbo. "Alright, sleep as much as you want. I'm going to Sun Entertainment today." Few seconds later, she was fully awake, staring at me as she sat up. "I believe I was dreaming; did you say something?" She tilted her head to the side, and I nodded. "Yes, I said I'm going to Sun Entertainment today," I declared firmly. "Okay, slow down. You practically just told me about Sun entertainment yesterday, you have to at least tell your dad." I shook my head as I applied my face cream and got ready. "No, he wouldn't be interested in hearing about it. And I know I talked about it just yesterday but the earlier the better. Others are also applying for a spot there too." Gwen stood up from the bed and came to the mirror to stand beside me. She looked at me and asked, "You're already even dressed? Did you even sleep?" I smiled as I began brushing and styling my hair. "Can you at least slow down? I need to get ready as well." She ruffled her hair out of frustration, while I put on a Chapstick and continued to get ready. "You don't need to come with me, Gwen, I can go alone." I didn't want to stress her further, but knowing Gwen, I knew all I was saying was going to fall on deaf ears as she was already rushing to the bathroom. "I swear by the goddess, if you leave without me; I will end you myself young miss." She yelled as she turned on the shower. This lady wasn't going to have a proper bath, and I was right because in the next five minutes, she was already out drying her hair. "I'm sure you already looked the company up. What do you have to do? Let's make sure you're prepared for this." She said as she put on lotion. We both used the same brand of lotion, so it wasn't a hassle at all. "Just my CV for now, if it matches what they want; hopefully I'll be called for an audition/interview." I said and she nodded. "Okay, I'm ready. I'm guessing with the way you're already dressed; we're not having breakfast." She whined as we flew down the stairs. "No, we're not having breakfast. We can grab a meal on the way if it's too important." Of course, food was very much important to her. "I don't even recognize you anymore. Just one day and you've metamorphosed into this lady that is swelling with confidence." She stared at me as I flagged down an Uber and we got in. "Third green Ville Avenue, Sun Entertainment." I told the Uber driver, and he nodded as the engine revved. "So yeah, swelling with confidence — Is that a bad thing?" I questioned and she shook her head. "Of course not, it's wonderful to be honest but it's very sudden. Almost too fast." She stared at me suspiciously, and I could feel the weight of the gaze on me. I chuckled and just stared at the window. The fact that Lionel rejected me didn't mean my life wouldn't go on. I had seen this Sun Entertainment audition poster for a while now, but I didn't tell Gwen because I didn't think I would stand a chance, but Lionel's rejection had pushed me to go for it and probably use it as a temporary distraction to get him off my mind. The rest of the journey was in silence as she got occupied with her phone while she typed away furiously. With the way she was very concentrated, I felt pity for whoever was on the receiving line of the text. Gwen could be a spitfire sometimes. "We are here." The driver finally broke the silence with his voice slightly raised and I jerked out of my thoughts. A lot of thoughts swelling up in my head wouldn't let me focus but if this was the life that my father would make me live, I better start trying to adapt to it. We alighted from the vehicle and paid the Uber driver. While he zoomed off, I took in the gigantic sight of Sun Entertainment company in one go. "Whoa! This place is quite vast! I exclaimed, unable to move as I stared at the building. "Keep up with that confidence you're on with and there would be no need for you to hesitate. You'll definitely ace it," Gwen said and playfully nudged me. Holding her hands, I walked into the company after proper scrutiny from the security men. It was time to pursue my dreams.ReginaThe further I went, the more my thoughts spun wilder as I contemplated whether this would eventually become a success or not. Indeed, I had been pulling myself together and building all the confidence I needed, but now I was within the confines of the building, things were about to get crazy. Several girls, all in line for the same audition I was here for, occupying different angles of the foyer where we now found ourselves, busy with makeup, chit-chatting and practicing weird lines in front of mirrors, feeling like they were already the star of the show. I was sick of it, but… here we go!“I need to use the bathroom, Gwen.”“Sure!” Gwen was still lost in admiring just how grandeur Sun Entertainment was. I couldn’t blame her – this was no joke!“Don’t stray far, Gwen. I’d love you to be there in the audition booth.” I pleaded.Gwen rolled her eyes. “Of course, I’ve got you baby. I’d be right there among the red seats, giving you all the thumbs up you’ll ever need.”“Oh, I lo
Regina“Where is she?”My father’s voice boomed out angrily, making me startled. I wished I could be anywhere but here.“I don’t know, Father; she didn’t tell me where she was going,” I replied, my voice trembling with fear. I hated seeing my father looking so pissed and angry. My elder sister, Marcy, had suddenly left the pack without telling anyone where she was going. She was supposed to get married in a few days to Lionel Williams, the renowned cold and heartless Alpha of the Silver Moon pack, but she suddenly disappeared without a word. Our pack, the Moon Jade Pack, had been rivals with the Silver Moon Pack for over a decade. No one knew how two packs that were once close allies became bitter enemies, but that was how it had been until the Silver Moon Pack suddenly proposed a peace treaty. Why would they do that now, after so many years of rivalry? We weren’t threatening them, so why the sudden desire for peace? To make matters worse, they proposed a marriage alliance to seal th
ReginaI stood there, shocked, unable to believe what I had just heard. Maybe he was joking, right? But I could tell from his expression that he clearly wasn't!When I finally regained my composure I exclaimed, “What? Father! What do you mean by that? His substitute Luna? Me? I can’t! Certainly not, Father!”“I have made my decision, Regina. You will become his Luna. Start preparing yourself,” he declared firmly.A chill instantly ran down my spine, causing me to panic. “Father, please, no! I don’t want to! I don’t want to marry Alpha Lionel!”I felt my body weaken as the reality of what he was asking hit me. Before I knew it, hot tears began streaming down my face. “There’s nothing that can be done about this,” my father said, his voice as cold as stone. “You obviously haven’t found your mate, and Marcy has gone to be with hers. You are the only one who can make this alliance happen.”“What did I do to deserve this, Father?” I cried out. “Why are you treating me this way? I’m sorry
Lionel"Come on, man, let's go to the party. You know it will be fun," Ryker, my beta, urged as he tried to convince me into attending a party I had no interest in."I don't want to," I replied flatly."Come on, Lionel, you need to mingle with other ladies before you are officially taken," he insisted, wiggling his eyebrows at me. I glanced at him, resisting the urge to smack that smirk off his face.Yes, I was getting married to the daughter of the Alpha of the Moon Jade Pack, a pack I deeply hated. Our packs had been rivals for more than ten years after an incident, caused by them, that led to my parents' deaths, and the bitterness from that loss had never left me.But I was being forced to bend to the whims of my grandfather, the only family I had left. He'd proposed an alliance with that pack behind my back, and it didn't stop there—he even arranged a marriage. Ralphael Donovan, the Alpha of the Moon Jade Pack, had to be the most shameless man I had ever met. He agreed to marry h
LionelTaking a deep breath, I calmed myself and moved closer to the group. As I approached, the guys turned to face me, and I finally got a clear view of the girl they were harassing. She was breathtakingly beautiful, and I found myself staring in awe."Who are you, and what are you doing here? Leave right this instant and pretend you didn't see anything," the leader of the group snarled, tightening his grip on her waist. It was clear they didn’t recognize me. What a bunch of fools.I stared at his hand, gripping my mate's waist in a possessive manner as if she was his. I growled and without a second thought, I shifted into Lucius, who let out a furious howl, ready to tear them apart. That particular hand he used to hold her waist must go!"Shit! He's an Alpha! Come on, let's get out of here! He's really huge," one of them yelled as they all fled in terror. But their stupid leader hesitated, still holding onto my mate. “It’s good that he foolishly waited; I would make sure to tear t
ReginaGoing to the party was a mistake! It didn't help me feel any better. Gwen tried her best to lift my spirits, but I just wanted to leave and think about my life.I made an excuse and decided to take a walk. I must have wandered too far from the mansion where the party was held, and before I realized what was happening, Richie and his group of friends surrounded me."Richie, what are you doing here?" I asked."Oh, nothing," Richie replied with a smirk. "Just out for a stroll in the forest with my friends, maybe hunt some rabbits, right, guys?" His friends laughed at his weak joke, their laughter making me feel uneasy.I tried to head back to the mansion, but they blocked my way. "Excuse me, Richie, I want to go back.""Come on, Regina, play with us a little before you go. We all came here to have some fun with you, and you're just going to leave?" Richie said as he grabbed my waist painfully and roughly pulled me toward him. I screamed and begged him to let go, but he wouldn’t.W
Regina "I, Lionel Williams, Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack, reject you, Regina Donovan, as my mate." As soon as Lionel said those words, I fell to the ground, screaming in agony. The pain of the broken mate bond was like nothing I’d ever felt- it was like being repeatedly struck by lightning. It came in waves, making it hard to even catch my breath. I felt like I was dying. Gwen wrapped her arms around me, trying to comfort me, but it wasn’t helping. I could hear her sobbing with me, desperately pleading, “Gina, you have to accept the rejection. It’s the only way to stop the pain. Please, Gina, it’s breaking my heart to see you like this.” Marcy and I had always dreamed about finding our mates since we were children, imagining how wonderful it would be. But now, the pain from Lionel’s rejection shattered those dreams, leaving me heartbroken and in endless pain. Why was Marcy blessed with a mate who loved her enough to run away with her, while I was cursed with one who would ra
Regina "Dad, you're not listening to me. Life would be ten times harder if I proceed with this marriage." Tears streamed down my eyes as I knelt, almost bowing while my father sipped on his glass of coffee like there was nothing else he cared about in this world."Dad!" I yelled trying to get his attention and he pivoted to stare at me for a few seconds before clearing his throat and accompanying it with a sigh."Regina, come off it. I've already told you that there's nothing you can do. The marriage is happening." That's exactly what he had repeated to me for like the hundredth time and it seemed sour hearing it from him.I was at loss as I stared at my father. Seriously, he was going to let me go into this marriage without considering what I might be going to face, the hardship and hatred and all."Dad, please listen to me. He rejected me as his mate, there's no way he would love me as Luna." My dad grunted as he dropped the cup of coffee he was sipping on angrily on the table."Ev
