Wedding dinner

Ivorie followed Regan to the bedroom they would be sharing. Ivorie couldn't imagine sharing a room with a man that was feared by many. She silently prayed that he doesn't strangle her in her sleep.

When they arrived at the room, she was marveled at its size. It was bigger than hers back home even. Being an Alpha has its privileges.

She was, however, less excited when she saw only one bed right in the middle of the massive bedroom.

She stood on a spot for a minute, running through her thoughts.

“You don't like the bed?” Regan's voice interrupted her thoughts.

“What? No, it's appropriate.” She said.

“Good, because I won't have it changed just for you.” Regan grumbled. Ivorie held herself from rolling her eyes.

Regan walked over to another room inside the room. Ivorie guessed that must be his closet and deduced that there must be one for her also.

And there was. At the opposite side of where Regan entered, there was also a door there. She needed to change into something more comfortable.

Walking into the closet, she saw varieties of clothes and her jaw dropped. She may have been born as a princess but she wasn't given the privileges of one. Her father didn't give her the best of things like he did to her sisters.

This closet was like a whole other world to her with the numerous clothes that lined up along the walls.

“The feast is about to begin, we don't have all night.” She heard Regan's voice from outside the closet and decided to select a dress quickly.

Regan sighed deeply as he laid down on his bed. Watching the ceiling, a train of thoughts about Ivorie filled his head.

“How is she not able to sense her mate's bond?” As much as he hated them to be mates, he couldn't deny how hurt his wolf was that she didn't sense the bond. He tried to find comfort in Estan's words to have patience as the bond may kick in soon.

He heard the door opening and knew she was done. He sat up and looked at her.

His heart raced immediately his eyes landed on her. She was dressed in a white long gown, with red pattern designs on the front. Although, it didn't reveal what she wore underneath nor did it hug her body firmly, it didn't hide her attractive features too, especially her proud bosoms. She truly looked like an angel with that lengthy white hair of hers. ‘Where did she even get such hair?’ Regan thought. If he remembered carefully, her father had black hair while her mother had deep brown hair. Maybe she was one of those special ones.

Ivorie's cheeks flushed bright red when Regan wouldn't turn his gaze away from her. She tried to look away as she fiddled with her fingers nervously.

Regan noticed he was making her feel uncomfortable so he turned away abruptly.

Clearing his throat, he said, “Let's go.”

Together, Alpha and Luna, they approached the royal dining hall where the feast would take place.

Upon arriving at the dining hall, Ivorie saw that it was already filled with people.

Regan sat down at the end of the long table, the rest of the officials and court members stood while he did so. They didn't sit down until Ivorie also took her seat on the first seat on the right of Regan. Estan was seated by the left.

Ivorie could feel eyes on her and she looked round the table to catch the Duchess glaring at her squarely. A lump of saliva found its way down her throat.

“Alright, let the feast begin.” Regan declared in a bored tone and immediately, several maids rushed in with dishes and pots, filling the long table with them.

The feast began in earnest with talks and laughs from the men and giggles from the women.

Despite all the merry-making, Ivorie still felt uncomfortable. She didn't feel ultimately comfortable around so many people in a single place.

“Is there something bothering the Luna?” Jenna directed a question at Ivorie. All attention was turned to her instantly. Ivorie stared at Jenna speechlessly. She looked back and forth at Regan and the others before gathering some words to speak. “Ah…no, absolutely, I'm fine. Let's…carry on…” she stuttered as she fiddled with her cutleries.

But the gazes were still glued to her.

“I was wondering, Luna,” Jenna spoke again. “Has your hair always been this colour?” She asked.

“I mean, while at the wedding, I met Alpha Johan and Luna Ivy, none of them possess the same hair colour as you do.” She added, smiling. A smile that Ivorie knew was fake.

The Luna’s mouth opened and closed again. Drops of sweat formed on her forehead and her toes were curling in her footwear. She was speechless, “Well, um…it's always been that way,” she managed to say.

“Oh would you stop with the interrogation, Jenna.” Regan's voice boomed across the table. His face carried an irritated expression. Ivorie felt a weight lifted off her chest.

“Forgive me, Alpha.” Jenna quickly returned to her meal but Ivorie couldn't miss the smirk on the corner of her lips.

“Perhaps, the Luna would like to get to know all of you.” Regan suggested, taking a brief look at Ivorie.

“Sure, I will.” Ivorie agreed timidly.

“Alright, begin from Elder Callen!” Regan declared.

A brown haired man with a thick beard stood. “Luna, I am Callen Gonzalo, Elder of Cresthowl pack and member of the Alpha's court.” After the Elder’s introduction, the rest of the court members and Elders did theirs. Some of them made Ivorie smile while some made her glare at them.

“This is my beta, Estan Jenn.” Regan was the one to introduce the beta. Ivorie nodded in acknowledgement.

Just then, someone walked into the dining hall. All gazes turned to the person. It was a man who had a striking resemblance with Estan but was about two inches taller and also had more bulk than him.

“Alpha Regan, felicitations to your wedding.” The man said, bowing respectfully before Regan. The latter only gave a slight nod.

Turning to Ivorie, the man said, “Felicitations, Luna. I am Nicholas Jenn, commander of the pack watchmen, brother to the Beta.” He introduced with a grin and Ivorie nodded also. To her, he seemed strange.

“He's my assistant.” Estan countered.

“Of course, brother.” Nicholas said as he took a seat next to Estan. There was silence in the room for that while.

“I do apologize for my absence at the royal wedding. You all are aware of my unparalleled dedication to duty.” The strange man said, grinning widely. Estan especially, had an uninterested look on his face.

“We need to talk, Alpha, Beta. It is of great importance.” Nicholas suddenly said in a tensed tone, leaning forward to Regan.

The Alpha sat up with a serious face, “What is it?”
