Chapter 78; Putting the pieces together.

“Mother!” Ivorie nearly screamed as she sprang up to her feet and lunged herself into her mother. They locked themselves in a tight embrace.

“Oh…my priceless jewel.” The older woman groaned.

She squeezed her daughter into her embrace, holding her like she wouldn't let her go ever again.

Ivorie, for the first time in a long time, felt protected. She was finally in the embrace of someone she could confide in, someone who understood her.

She has been independent and strong on her own, standing firm and keeping her ground. All those resolve seemed to suddenly dissolved in her mother's arms. All the toughness, the wit, they all broke down into torrents of tears welling from her eyes.

“Mother…” she cried, “I didn't do it…”

“I know…I know…” Luna Ivy said, patting and rubbing her back.

“You would never do such a thing, you are my little white rose. You would never do such evil.” She said assuredly.

That seemed to calm Ivorie down a bit as she stopped sobbing.
