“Did he really say that?” Jenny asked me.
I had just finished telling her what had happened that night. Anna was having her siesta, and I was in my room.
“Yes, I heard him. He didn’t know I was there so he said what he really felt.”
“He could have said it without really meaning it,” Jenny insisted.
“So why say it? Look, Jenny, he made his feelings clear to me and I won’t waste my time lying to myself. He is not interested in me. I have to accept it and move on.”
“I still think you should give him a chance. From what you have been saying, he really likes you, and you like him too, or don’t you?”
