“Why is he here?” I gritted the words from my teeth to Elliot to avoid getting caught murmuring. He shakes his head in confusion before mumbling a small, “I don’t know either.”

The fight earlier ended in blaring hot seats, I don’t think I’m particularly ready to see him or hear his voice once more right now.

He’s already just behind Elliot when he asked his question once more. His eyes even gazed down my body and seeing how I just came out of the bathroom gave the picture an eveen more suspicious look.

“I said what are you two doing?” I bite the insides of my cheeks before rolling my eyes at him. I breathe deeply from the pits of my stomach where the remains of patience I have left lies, and to try awaken it so I won’t be pouncing towards Calvin in my wolf form from the anger I’m currently feeling.

“Not any of your concerns, in all honesty.” I sarcastically retorted, smiling widely at him. His face turnes red from frustration and he was just about to reach over to Elliot’s shoulders

WHAT did he just say? I can’t afford these Macarons? Hah! If I could only show him how much of a rich Luna I am.“Y-you—can’t just say that!” I aggressively pushed him to the side just as he was about to place his order. I smile at the lady and with my index finger, I slowly push the gold coin to the side where he was.“Since he’s not obligated to pay for any of my purchases, please ignore his whining. I am paying for it.” I smile.“Whine?” he growls right at me and I glare at him, yet the moment my eyes met his, something churned inside of me and his eyes grew wide.“What the fuck . . . ?” He has the most gorgeous midnight eyes I have ever seen. I thought mine was the darkest shade an orb could ever have, but turns out, someone would have darker ones and even more glorious!I have never adored my black eyes due to its mediocrity, but now that I’m seeing his, it was like getting lost in the ocean or a forest at night and you’re instantly going to know the way just by looking at that m

I dropped down the marble floors, yet still kept the Macarons clean as much as my breaking self could. My tears were endless as it cascaded down my cheeks. Only sobs were heard from the hallway where the Alpha and the Luna’s room was.I don’t know why I’m even crying. I expected this. This is the path that I choose. I thought I’ll be okay with her there. Is there anything far worse than this? I swallowed the lump in my throat, trying to regain my composure. The steps from the other side of the door behind me reached my senses. I instantly wiped the tears from my eyes and was about to walk away to at least get a grip of myself before seeing whoever between Raine and Calvin came to see me in such a state.Elliot was frantic, yet he didn’t know what to do. He never saw me crying this much and he’s aware how much I hate sympathy. He helped me get up from the cold grip of the marble floor that seems to be luring me inside me of it, giving me a cold comfort I never thought I’d ever need.

The door busted open, a worried Calvin scurrying inside. His eyes tried to find whomever he came in the clinic for, until his eyes landed onto me.Onto me and Elliot.I simply stared at him. There was no way I would ever push Elliot away. This was by far one of the most satisfying things in my life; to watch him angry. “Maryna . . .” he huffed, his chest heaving up and down, probably from how fast he came here running. I roll my eyes before turning to look at Elliot who looks like he’s not sure whether to pull away or to stay. I give him a glare, signaling him to stay still. “I’m going to have my head slit off my neck.” he mouthed, slightly shaking his head to refuse my request. I scowled at him and he shrugged at me, all the while Calvin was still there, standing statically. My best friend pulled himself away from me before greeting Calvin with a nod and sitting back to his seat beside the bed.“How was Lady Raine, Alpha?” Elliot asked Calvin who’s eyes were still pacing back and f

“Maryna?” Calvin’s voice followed by Raine’s gasp was enough to have me lowering my head. I was already on my stomach, with only my hands keeping my face from palming itself onto the wooden floor.I wasn’t lowering my head because I was embarrassed, no it was far more than that. It takes more than some simple, pathetic scene to get me to embarrass myself.I chew on the insides of my cheeks, forcing the tears back from my eyes. Letting the anger seep in, I cling onto it. I cling tightly on the now numbing anger that’s kept within the pits of my stomach. “Maryna . . .” Raine was pulling the sheets from the bed while Calvin was in his undergarment, covering only his genitals. They really just came out of the room after doing it. I shake my head, before pushing myself up the cold floor. I was dizzy, but I tried to keep my ground, nailing myself straight to face them head on with confidence.I looked at Raine and was about to glare at her. How dare she have sex with the man that was suppo

Calvin left a few hours ago.All that was left was my pathetic naked body now covered in these thin bed sheets while my nightgown was scattered around the floors, 9all torn to shreds. The sun was seeping through the glass panes normally as if nothing happened. Here I was, staring right into the wall as though it will somehow close into me and swallow me into its thick materials, just so I can escape this self disgust imprinted in me like a tattoo. He left an imprint on me. A trace of his entrance in my body. A force that left me unmoving. That was the last thing I expected for Calvin to do. A man I was with for my entire life.I don’t even have time to grieve about it as his last words turned me over to the edge of sacrifice or desire.“you’re gonna tell anyone about this and you’re stripped off of your Luna position, you understand?”And all I could do was stare at nothing as he slammed the door closed.Still, after everything that has happened, it baffles me as to why he has to go hi

“I don’t think she wants to eat with us, Calvin . . .” Raine, still clinging to Calvin’s arm, mumbled, pouting at her mate. Calvin stared at me and Elliot hard that I clenched my bestfriend’s coat even tighter. Elliot seemed to have noticed my panic and instantly took the hand I was clenching. He turned to look at Calvin before looking back at me.“You should—You should go and eat, Elliot.” With trembling hands, I push him away despite his feeble attempt of trying to communicate with me through his magnificent gray eyes. There was just no way I’m letting him get involved in this.I chewed on the insides of my cheek before turning to the eagle who seemed to be listening by how sharp he’s looking at us as though we’re making a scene.I pet its feathers comfortably, avoiding any of their gazes. “Where did you find such a pet, Maryna?” I swallowed the lump in my throat when Calvin’s voice reached my ears. I stayed composed, gently petting the eagle with my trembling hands. “It has lande

“WOULD you care if I buy you a drink?” “I’m buying you a drink.” The guy was buff. As I am, he was also wearing a cloak that covers his entire body. But with his broad shoulders and tall physique, I just know he’s one heck of a strong man.“Are you perhaps copying me, Sir?” I asked. I plaster a fake smile on my face to hide my annoyance. He simply stared at me, even bothering to look me up and down which furthermore infuriated me.“I am not.” he answered and I rolled my eyes, shrugging the frustration out before we both turn to the barista whose eyes are now as wide as that of an owl. He was changing his gazes to the both of us, astonished as though we’re not like any other customers. The mask guy beside me seems to know why while I remain confused. “There are-there are two special guests tonight?” he stammered, eyes becoming an expression between panic and fear. “There’s only one. Take a look at your list.” The masked man said and I turn to him, raising my brows, but he was noncha

“Welcome gentlemen, mademoiselles! As the goddess graces upon us this beautiful night, we will present to you gifts from the highest of qualities that will surely have you spending half of your fortunes!” The guy wearing a black top hat announced enthusiastically to the crowd. Oh, an auction, I see. This isn’t as bad as I thought it would be.I subtly glance at the masked stranger from earlier who’s sitting on a leather seat on the parted other side. Just when I thought I’d somehow get a glimpse of him unnoticed, I was instantly caught peeking by his dark orbs that seem to be staring right through my soul. He has a smug look on his face, smirking. You must be wondering how I can tell despite that large mask covering half of his face—I can simply tell as I have been dealing with such expressions for my entire life. He raised his brows at me and I responded with a pair of narrowed eyes as I tried to grasp his intention behind that signature smug look.I’m never leaving here until I wi

“What do you want to do for the day?” I raise my gaze towards Lucius. We’re both in the bed, I was already bathed. You could say we were both clean. He did his best scrubbing my body in that bathroom after all.Yet after what we did last night, he still got some stamina to go for another round. A beast indeed.I smile at him as I bite a piece of steak off my fork. Lucius ordered some Omegas to simply bring in a tray of food.“I’d love to look around your palace more.” I grinned. His brows shot up and turned to me. “Our castle, Maryna.” He muttered, a serious look on his face. I nodded, though not understanding what that actually means. We’re still running through the contract, right?“—and should we go together?” he asked. I roll my eyes, shaking my head. “Who knew the King could be this clingy?” I scoff. He narrowed his eyes on me. “No, I would love to do this myself. You know, familiarize myself with the workers and all.” I shrug. We both agreed and the moment we finished eating, d

They say, how are you supposed to grasp the future when you’re still clinging on to the past. It was a quote I’ve always reminded myself of back then. Back when it was peaceful, the dread wasn’t around and we weren’t holding the world on our shoulders. As for my case, when that night never came. Breathe in . . .Breathe out . . .I tried to level my head tinto focus. Shooing the black dots puckering up my vision. Before I knew it, Calvin’s orbs turned into midnight black with worry plastered on it. I was back in the Imperial Pack with Lucius in front of me, holding my shoulders as I sat on top of the table. How did I—“Wh . . . yo . . . hey . . .” His words were blurry. It’s not reaching my ears due to the penetrating sound of something that seems to be ringing. “Maryna!” Lucius’ voice increased and my head went back to where it came from. “W-what?” I muttered, still unconscious. His brows creased as he assessed my features. “Fuck, you’re shaking.” he hissed and took some water fr

The angels and the pre-Richard paintings were glowering at us. Sharing our breaths in front of all the delicacies laid out on the table, remaining untouched. After every single food in here, he chose to feast on me. “That was not even a compliment for me and I am already on the edge, trying to fight the to fuck you on this table.” Lucius whispered beside my ears. The cold air coming from him was radiating on me like a shadow, a smoke, power and a very strong one at that.“The dining is indeed beautiful, I am in no place to lie about that.” I smile at him with a little tease slipping out of my lips. His eyes darkened whilst mine widened. The tease has gone too far! Those midnight black eyes looked down at me with burning lust beneath them. A fire that’s definitely going to hurt. I breathe in to fill the missing air my lungs were reminding me of taking, and Goddess, I shouldn’t have.I can smell the pre-ejaculation cum in the air, inside his pants. “I don’t get what you’re trying to say, Dawn . . .” I mutter, scratching the back of my head. Of course, I know what she’s trying to say. But, those who angers you, conquers you, so let’s leave her to that.“You were a criminal, right?” She mumbles. I bite my lip before nodding, putting down the utensils on the side of the plate. “Innocent. I was innocent. There was more to the story than—” “Of course there is.” She exclaimed, smiling at me. I turn to the door, waiting for Lucius and his Beta to come back. Lucius isn’t where he is when he should goddamn be!What am I even thinking?! Dawn means no harm. She’s a close friend of Lucius so mind what you say.“You’re going to be a queen, right? A Queen that was once a criminal, exiled from her pack. How ironic!” she mumbled and I nodded. It’s a truth I’m quite ashamed about, but still a truth nonetheless.“What do you think the council would have to say about this? I mean, it’s like the rags to riches love story.” I raise both my brows a

“Oh! Delta Dawn must have missed the Alpha King’s presence, she’s been going around asking every official when he’s going to come back! It would be the first—” The Omega who’s taking care of my hairstyle blabbered, yet before she could utter one more word, “Shut it.” Beta Duke gritted his teeth as he glared at her. His ice blue eyes were enough to keep my knees tucked in fear that it would be seen quivering. The Omega who’s still holding the hair brush in her hand closed her mouth but was left baffled until her eyes widened in realization.I furrowed my brows at The Imperial Beta’s sudden outburst but stood from the vanity chair nonetheless. I smiled at the now ashamed Omega before following Beta Duke. His back was tense, it was evidently showing but he’s trying to keep his pace right in front of me.He can’t be faster than me, traditions always say that the one who called, will be the one who leads.A small smile crept on my face, it seems to me that the Imperial Pack is filled with

“What’s your name, lady?!” One of the kids eagerly asked. I awkwardly flashed him a smile. “Maryna, I’m Maryna Gauntlet.” I scratch the back of my head before turning to Lucius. He nods to me as if reassuring me that I’m doing great. I smile to myself before heading towards the large castle that’s been waiting behind the large crowd. With Lucius in nothing but shorts, and I, in ragged clothes, the both of us went inside, the imperial warriors separated ways on the doorstep and did their own business of washing up. Maids instantly jumped to my aid while pack members as well as people who looked like council members talked to Lucius about pack business. He just came home, can’t he at least borrow some time to change and clean up from the journey?I forced a smile on my face while the omegas tended to my well-being. I peek at Lucius and they were still talking, the man seemingly reporting about rogue control on the borders. “I’m coming now.” Lucius growled, my eyes widened at him. “W-

“I’ve eaten and chewed on tons of enemies and you’re saying that this tiny body of yours won’t be able to ride on my back?” Lucius tilted his head, genuinely confused. I bite my lip at his exaggerated comparisons.I’m going to ride his back, it’s not like he’s going to eat me, I’m sure I’ll fit right in his wolf’s stomach though. My teeth crunched as I clenched it with all my might. He’s goddamn stubborn! This is wrong in so many ways! Another person cannot touch nor pet one’s fur unless they’re a family or are mates! This is taboo. My eyes caught upon Aaron’s who’s flashing me a reassuring smile before nodding. Lucius turned to where I was looking and growled at the man. “Is his wolf bigger than mine?” Lucius mumbled out of nowhere. My eyes widened as I look back at him, he’s smiling but his eyes are creepy! “N-no . . .” I mutter. This feels like cheating on someone and we’re not even a thing.“Fine, then ride him.” He grumbles before turning around. My eyes widened and Lucius stopp

Maryna’s POVMy eyes widened at the cold thing that made contact with my back. I was about to sit up when someone pushed me back to the pillow.I was laying on my stomach and a hand with something that felt gooey was being put on my skin. I groaned and turned to look at the other side and Aaron sat there, focused on his work.“What are you doing?” I asked, groaning. “I’m an apprentice herbalist.” He mumbled, cutting another group of leaves and dipping it in a bowl with goddess knows whatever was in it.“I’m not asking what you are. I’m asking what you are doing, Aaron.” I wince when a wave of headache surges through me from raising my voice.“Relax, My Lady.” She pressed my head back to the pillow. We were back in a tent and the sunlight outside was bringing the insides some brightness.“As I said, I am an apprentice herbalist. All of us who came with the Alpha King are apprentices, whether they are warriors or servants.” I wince once more as she puts something on my scar that I can st

What were they doing there?Million thoughts ran through my head at what they could have done in that forest. Most of them are horrid. Whatever happened there, I don’t think I’ll ever know.Anger surges deep within me. Both anger and arousal at her fearless demeanor. With hie she intimidated that pup, she will surely make a great Queen. But that would mean that I’ll have to make her obey me first, and getting an inch close to a man in a private setting is not even close to being obedient.“Where is she?” I growl at the warrior behind me. I flick the cigarette butt on the side, the calmness seeping in.Smoking is my main hobby. That, and sex. It’s a package, a good combination. “I saw her head over to the lake, Your Majesty.” He announced and I waved my hand in dismissal. Alright, Maryna Gauntlet, l
