KAREN’S POV

The hard forest floor was cool beneath my bare skin, unlike the fire Jackson was stoking inside me. My breath hitched as he yanked his shirt over his head, muscles flexing with the motion, and tossed it aside without care.

For a fleeting second, I drank in the sight of him—the hard planes of his abdomen, the powerful curve of his arms—before he was on me again, his body pressing me into the floor.

His lips crashed against mine, hot and demanding, before trailing down my jaw, his teeth grazing my earlobe. A shiver tore through me, my fingers digging into his shoulders as I arched against him. Gods, his touch. Every brush of his skin against mine sent electric sparks dancing along my nerves, setting my blood ablaze.

“Jackson—” His name spilled from my lips in a breathless moan as his mouth moved lower, sucking and nipping at my throat. My nails scraped down his back, earning a low growl from him that vibrated against my skin.

His tongue flicked over his mark—my mark—and a sh

ALEX’S POVThe room felt like a prison—too small, too suffocating, the walls pressing in as I paced like a beast trapped in a cage. The wooden floor groaned under the weight of my boots, each creak a sharp echo of my fury. Outside, the sky was still a void of black, but dawn would bleed through soon. And still, no sign of Karen.Where the hell is she?My jaw locked so tight my teeth ached. I dragged a hand through my hair, gripping until the pain shot through my scalp. She was supposed to be here. Mine. Under my control, away from him—that bastard who thought he could steal what belonged to me. Alpha King or not, he had no fucking right to be near what’s mine.I stopped mid-step when I heard it—footsteps. Familiar, hesitant, coming down the hall toward my door. Finally, I thought to myself, a smile pulling at the corner of my lips. The knock came, soft. Too soft. Like the bastard already knew he was about to deliver bad news."Enter," I growled. The door creaked open, and there he sto

After I marked and claimed her in the forest, we came back to her place, and I couldn’t bear to leave her side, so I stayed. She’s really mine. After everything—after the fight, the chase, the fear that Alex would take her from me—she was right here in my arms, where she belonged.I reached out, brushing her hair back from her face, my fingers trailing softly over her freckled cheek. She stirred slightly but didn’t wake. I couldn’t keep my hands off her, not even if I tried. I was like a moth drawn to a flame. That’s when I saw them—scars. Faded bruises. Thin, angry lines crisscrossing her skin, as if she’d been whipped over and over.My stomach twisted. XAVIER’S POVTwenty years. That’s how long it had been since I last saw my brother’s face. Twenty years ago, my brother Silas was banished. Our father, the Alpha King at the time, had no choice but to enforce the laws of our pack. Silas had committed a crime—one so severe that exile was the only punishment. The laws were clear: those who betrayed the pack, those who violated the sacred rules, had to be cast out. And Silas, my brother, had crossed a line that couldn’t be undone. His exile was meant to last twenty years, a punishment for his actions, and no one had heard from him since.I still remember the day he left. "You know the laws, Silas," Father had growled, his voice like gravel, heavy with the weight of duty. "You betrayed your own blood."It wasn’t the angry shouting, the curses from our father, or even the tear-filled eyes of our mother. It was the look on Silas’s face—a mix of defiance and regret. He knew he had messed up, but he also knew the laws. I saw him turn and walk

JACKSON’S POVThe weight of leadership wasn’t just heavy—it was suffocating. It had been three years since my father, Alpha Xavier, stepped down and handed over the reins to me. I was only fifteen then, barely old enough to tie my shoes, let alone lead the Shadow Moon Pack. But life didn’t care about age, and neither did the pack.I’d learned quickly, but that didn’t mean it was easy. I still had so much to prove. I couldn’t afford to mess up, not with the pack’s survival on my shoulders. I had to be serious, dedicated—no room for childish mistakes. If I failed, the whole pack would feel it. That pressure was constant, a weight that never lifted.Today was no different. I sat at my desk, the paperwork piled in front of me like a mountain I had to climb. Every sheet, every document, carried weight. The pack’s future, its well-being, depended on the decisions I made.As I scanned through yet another pile of papers, a vibration in my pocket broke my concentration. I pulled out my phone a

Refused to let him see how his voice cracked something deep inside me.Alex Scott, future Alpha of the Blue Cross Pack, stood before me, his blue eyes cold, his mouth twisted in disgust. Just two days ago, those same lips had whispered sweet promises, his hands gentle against my skin. Back when he thought I was someone important.Back before he knew the truth of who I really was."I, future Alpha Alex Grayson Scott, hereby reject you, Karen Lukeman, a weak and lowly Omega, as my future Luna."His voice was cold and dispassionate, each word a dagger driving the rejection deeper into my already broken heart. The pack watched in silence, their stares like knives against my skin. Some pitied me. Most enjoyed this. Omegas didn’t get happy endings. We weren’t meant to rise. JACKSON’S POVI stood beside Liam and Laila, my muscles tense, my wolf restless beneath my surface. Sarah hovered near Laila, her usual quiet presence barely registering in my mind. The car’s headlights cut through the dusk, tires crunching over gravel as it rolled to a stop in front of us. Liam let out a heavy sigh, rubbing his temples like he’d rather be anywhere else."Let’s get this over with so I can go back inside and rest," he muttered, voice rough with exhaustion.Laila, on the other hand, practically vibrated with excitement, her fingers twisting together. "Oh, come on, Liam! This is exciting! A new healer—maybe she’ll finally get you to stop complaining about your headaches."I barely heard them. My entire focus was locked onto the car door as it swung open. And then—her. Not the elderly, seasoned healer I’d expected. No. A girl—no, a woman—stepped out, her wild red hair catching the fading light like fire. She was dressed in all black, her fitted jacket hugging her frame, h

KAREN’S POVThe request hit me like a wave, knocking the breath from my lungs. I knew, deep down, this was part of what would seal the bond between us—what would solidify us as mates, not just in the magic that had drawn us together, but in our hearts.I took a step closer to him, feeling the weight of his words and the heaviness of what I was about to do. His gaze was steady, unwavering, and I could sense his need, his own struggle with the pull between us.I reached for the collar of his shirt, fingers trembling slightly as I pulled it aside, exposing the skin of his neck. He closed his eyes, almost as if surrendering to the moment, to the connection we had both been fighting for. With a deep breath, I leaned in, my lips brushing over the spot where I knew his mark would go. My heart pounded in my chest as I felt the bond between us tug forward, the connection deepening in ways I hadn’t expected.I let my wolf surge forward, my mouth reshaping as teeth shifted into sharp fangs. Karen’s POVBefore I could react, he pulled me into his chest, holding me tightly. For a brief moment, I wanted to resist, to fight him off, but in his arms, I felt safe. I felt the pull toward Alex warring with Jackson’s arms around me. All I could focus on was Jackson’s warmth, his breath against my skin, and the way his presence seemed to surround me, making everything else fade away.He lowered his head, and before I could protest, his lips crashed against mine. It wasn’t soft or gentle; it wasn’t a comforting kiss. It was fierce and desperate, as if he were trying to anchor me to him, to drag me away from whatever spell had been cast over me.I tried to push him away, but my body didn’t listen. My hands clung to his shoulders, pulling him closer, as if I were the one giving in. His tongue swept over my lips, and I opened to him without thinking. The moment our mouths met fully, it was like a floodgate opened. All the pent-up feelings, confusion, and frustration poured out. It was

But it wasn’t enough. The spell, the magic—it was too strong. It was all-consuming.One night, when I couldn’t take it anymore, I slipped out of the pack house.
